The next chapter of the Air Jordan line is now here. Tonight at a special event in Las Vegas, Jordan Brand officially unveiled the Air Jordan 31, which is hailed as “a balance of Jordan Brand?s tradition of game-changing performance and its transcendent style”. Inspired heavily by the shoe that started it all, the Air Jordan 1, the Air Jordan 31 features a vintage-meets-modern-performance design for a new 2016 interpretation of the original Air Jordan. The XXX1 debuts in the “Banned” colorway, featuring the black and red color scheme of the Air Jordan 1 banned by the NBA in 1985. The upper is built with a leather and Flyweave upper that further references the Air Jordan 1 with the iconic “wings” logo and subtle Swooshes. The tooling features FlightSpeed technology, which utilizes a low to the ground and responsive full-length Zoom Air cushioning.

The Air Jordan 31 “Banned” will launch on September 3, 2016 at Jordan.com and select global Jordan Brand retailers.

This colorway of the Air Jordan 5 has always been one of those pairs that I’ve wanted, but I think I’m gonna have to pass on them. I don’t feel like it’s worth it paying $220 just for the Nike Air branding on the heel.

Last year we saw Jordan Brand bring back Nike Air branding on the Air Jordan 6 with the Maroon colorway, but it seems like they have more big plans for the silhouette in 2017.

New information has just surfaced that a “premium” Air Jordan 6 with a $225 price tag will be releasing next year during NBA All Star Weekend on February 17, 2017. There is no word on the colorway yet, but it’s a strong possibility that the shoe may feature the beloved Nike Air branding on the heel once again. Since All Star Weekend takes place in Charlotte next year you can bet that Michael Jordan wants to release something special while playing host to the big weekend.

We’re pretty sure that the majority of WWE fans were glued to their TV last night watching the WWE Draft. This drafts was going to split the roster in two between Raw and SmackDown. Hopefully this brand split will hike up the WWE ratings because it hasn’t been looking too good this year.

If you were watching the draft you probably saw Shane McMahon, the man who happens to be in control of Smackdown. Celebrating this new chapter in WWE, Shane was wearing a custom pair of Air Jordan 1s created by Mache Customs. The Air Jordan 1 High comes dressed in a Smackdown Blue colorway offset by the White placed on the paneling, tongue and toe. Under Armour recently did something really cool with the help of Jordan Spieth. Using Under Armour?s connected fitness platform, UA Record, Jordan has been tracking his sleep, fitness, daily activity and nutrition as he trains for play.

Since Spieth is not able to wear the UA Band on the course to track his performance during competition, Under Armour created the first ever, custom, smart golf shoe. These shoes are built from the same foundation as the UA Drive One golf shoe launched in April, and houses the same sensor technology that is found in the brand?s first smart shoe ? the Speedform Gemini 2 Record Equipped.

Data was collected through an embedded motion sensor within the midsole of the shoe that automatically tracked performance metrics such as distance and steps which showed that Spieth walked a total of 13,541 steps for the complete 18-hole course.

Coming in the uber-popular Bred color scheme, the high-top sneaker comes dressed in a Black and Red motif on the upper constructed out of a full premium leather. Jordan Brand has their earliest releases of 2017 already planned out and we’re here to give you a quick rundown of what’s in store for the Jumpman’s Spring 2017. February always marks a special time in the release slate, as Nike plans a number of special edition “All-Star” colorways alongside a number of retros. 2017’s All-Star festivities will bring a special Air Jordan 6 colorway commemorating all of Michael Jordan’s accomplishments in the ASG on February 17th. The following weekend the Air Jordan 12 “Playoff” will release in a new low-top form. Late February and March brings both an Air Jordan 8 and Air Jordan 6 release, each described as “Alternate” which could continue Jordan’s revisionist’s history on sample colorways that could’ve released back in the 1990s. The March Madness celebration kicks off in March with an Air Jordan 12 Low “Georgetown” release as well. The iconic Air Jordan 1 High is treated in a vibrant summer-appropriate colorway that’s reminiscent of the limited edition Diamond Supply Co. x Nike SB Dunk High Tiffany or low-top that first released back in 2005.

Simply draped the same color scheme, bright teal is prominent on its textile underlays, such as the toe box and side panels, which is also prominent on the tongue branding and collar section.
