Author’s Take:

Renz Ofiaza, News: Years ago, preferably in 2006, I would be all over this release. Now, since I’m over the camouflage theme, I’m not really interested. I’ll only buy it to resell — haha. 😏 😏 😏

The mastermind Japan x adidas Originals Collection Releases Tomorrow

We’re only a day away from mastermind Japan‘s upcoming collaboration with adidas Originals that prominently features one of the best colorways of the adidas NMD XR1 to date. The trefoil brand has done an amazing job at keeping people interested in the adidas NMD series with upcoming collaborations with BAPE and more, but this premium mastermind Collection will kick things off and set the bar for others to follow. Today we get the best look yet at both the mastermind adidas NMD XR1 and the mastermind adidas Tubular Instinct, both with different approaches from the Japanese boutique thanks to premium touches of suede and leather throughout.

The mastermind adidas NMD XR1 is still the main attraction here, as the protective outer cage is revamped through the use of premium leather to match the heel construction. The Core Black colorway matches mastermind’s usual high fashion yet ominous aesthetic while contrasting white hits the Boost midsole and the signature skull and crossbones logo. mastermind Japan also made the adidas Tubular Instinct a head-turning collaborative effort thanks to an additional zipper on the heel reminiscient of their past collaborations with the Vans Sk8-Hi. The large skull and cross bones logo adds a menacing touch.

The mastermind adidas NMD XR1 and Tubular Instinct will release at select stateside retailers on September 20th with each pair will retailing for $220 USD. Check out more detailed shots below and stay tuned for more updates right here on Sneaker News.

The adidas AlphaBOUNCE Triple Black Is Available Now

adidas Running has been one of the most innovative imprints over the past two years thanks to a dedication to both Primeknit woven uppers and Boost midsoles. The cushion system has given us such classics as the adidas Ultra Boost and its Uncaged brother, while Boost has also found lifestyle success in such models like the adidas NMD. But now the adidas AlphaBOUNCE is here to steal some of the Boost shine thanks to an aesthetic that’s both fashion forward and functional for a smooth, comfortable ride. The Bounce foam cushion system is a bit different than the Boost we’ve come accustomed to, and even the seamless FORGEDMESH upper brings something new to the table. Now the adidas AlphaBOUNCE Triple Black is available, taking the popular black on black look to the new running model with ease.

The FORGEDMESH upper features a one-piece layered material molded with a ribbed pattern for support in strategic areas that expands while your foot moves in a natural stride. The head-turning pattern that debuted with the first slate of AlphaBOUNCE releases is relegated to the heel here while touches of white land on the three stripe branding to contrast the Triple Black upper. Check out more detailed shots below and know that you can grab this adidas AlphaBOUNCE Triple Black today for $100 USD.

Colored Boost Is Coming To The adidas Ultra Boost

ADIDAS ULTRA BOOST 1 ADIDAS ULTRA BOOST 2 ADIDAS ULTRA BOOST 3

Who’s ready to see the adidas Ultra Boost release with a colored Boost midsole? So far we’ve seen the NMD, NMD XR1, and the Ultra Boost Uncaged get the colored Boost treatment, but for some strange reason adidas hasn’t shown any love to the original Ultra Boost.

This adidas Ultra Boost takes on the all-black look as small hits of light grey can be seen on the Primeknit material on the toe and side panels. Everything else on the shoe is black including the side panel cage, heel counter, laces, inner liner, the Boost midsole, and the rubber outsole.

There is no release date at the moment for this blacked out adidas Ultra Boost but make sure you stay tuned to Kicks On Fire for updates.

Author’s Take

It’s cool to see colored Boost on the original Ultra Boost, but I want to see something other than black. I don’t plan on picking these up when they do eventually release.

Iman Shumpert No Longer With adidas, Enters Sneaker Free Agency

Iman Shumpert might still be under contract with the Cleveland Cavaliers, but he’s now a sneaker free agent. The past couple of weeks Iman has been seemingly everywhere from showing up at the Yeezy Season 4 unveiling to support Teyana Taylor to training with teammates Kyrie Irving and Kevin Love. And while Shump hit the fashion show in a pair of the adidas Yeezy Boost 350 “Pirate Black”, he’s most recently been spotted wearing the likes of Nike and Jordan Brand. With two of Nike’s signature superstars on his team already in Kyrie Irving and LeBron James, it’s probably a safe bet that Iman will be lacing up a Swoosh silhouette this coming season. We’ll have to wait and see.

Author’s Take

Since Kanye’s abrupt departure from Nike, a part of me feels this is a subtle jab towards the brand with a ?flat? Swoosh. Other than that, I like the overall colorway and it?ll obviously get the attention it deserves.

Parley Adds Synthetic Fibers To Two adidas Ultra Boost Models

adidas Originals teamed up with Parley for the Oceans for a small run of a futuristic, sustainable silhouette known as the adidas Parley Boost. The shoe was made entirely from recycled plastic found in the ocean while the three stripes’ patented Boost technology helped create a comfortable ride. Now the duo is back for another upcoming collaboration with the adidas Ultra Boost and adidas Ultra Boost Uncaged.

The Parley adidas Ultra Boost models will be available in both men’s and women’s size runs, while the familiar silhouettes utilize new textiles that better represent Parley’s mission for sustainability. Knits and synthetics replace the usual plastic overlays on the cage and heel while Parley’s script logo can be found on the tongue, heel, and insole. The predominantly blue knit uppers pay homage to the waters that Parley helps protect. There’s still no word yet on a release date, but stay tuned for more updates right here on Sneaker News.

The second pair takes on a very familiar black upper with a touch of blue on the pull tab on the heel.
