Last week in Berlin, Puma introduced the all-new Running System (RS) range to global industry movers and shakers, press and cool local crowd.

Guests were taken along a unique experience, first through the RS archive showcasing the OG styles from the 80?s ? RS-Computer, RS-100 and RS-1, followed by the central installation where all-new RS iterations are displayed ? the RS-0, RS-350, RS-100 and the RS-Computer.

Displayed in colored glass room installations were the RS-0 Sound, RS-0 Optic and RS-0 Gaming – all new styles that represent the RS stories of reinvention focusing on the different cultural pillars ? Music, Photography and Gaming.

It was first time ever that Puma unveiled their exciting new collaborations with SEGA, Polaroid, Roland and Ader Error. The RS-0 collaborative drops were on display within the pillars of reinvention rooms.

Starting Spring-Summer ?18, PUMA will kick off its RS stories of reinvention with the RS-0 model followed by modern retro iterations of the RS-100 and RS-350. PUMA has also partnered with influential and creative brands, individuals, and institutions that push culture forward through innovation in design, style, technology, and more. Together they will create drops that explore themes such as gaming, music, photography and more.

About a month ago we let you know that a SEGA x Puma collab centered around the Puma RS-0 was in the works. Today we get a first look at the shoe. Introducing the Sonic the Hedgehog x PUMA RS-0. This Sonic the Hedgehog themed version of the Puma RS-0 comes dressed in a hairy-textured Blue upper that we assume is supposed to resemble Sonic the Hedgehog. Other details include the Yellow and Red accents on the upper, rope laces, dual branding on the tongues, White soles that may or may not be glow-in-the-dark and a Pinkish-Red outsole.

Look for the Sonic the Hedgehog x Puma RS-0 to release this June. More info and images are sure to follow, so stay tuned.

The PUMA Suede Embellished Pack is all about adornments with delicate touches of embroidery, texture and shine. The Puma Suede comes in your choice of Black or White, both done in premium suede uppers and a Formstripe that’s embellished with a unique floral embroidery set in vivid Reds, Pinks and Blues. Set to release tomorrow, here’s a good look at the entire PUMA Fenty by Rihanna Avid Collection centered around the recently unveiled Fenty Avid Trainer.

The new sneaker/sandal hybrid will come in two different colorways consisting of Bay/Cherry Tomato and Vanilla Ice. The moccasin-inspired footwear has an upper that is constructed out of mesh with a large opening on the tongue area of the shoe. Additional details include a bungee cord lacing system, cross straps on the toe, and PUMA branding on the toe.

If you’re looking to pick up either pair, look for the PUMA Fenty by Rihanna Avid Collection to release at select retailers beginning tomorrow for the retail price of $130.

Rihanna and PUMA are back again for a new project this time to release a new trainer. Dubbed the Fenty Puma by Rihanna Avid Trainer, this new silhouette will be making its debut in the Spring of 2018.

The OG R-SYSTEM

Originally released in 1986, the PUMA RS-100 is a running sneaker that was considered extremely advanced for its time. This fashionable and comfortable model has a textile and leather upper, padded collar, PUMA R-SYSTEM technology for cushioning, and a rubber outsole. 

Shortly after RS-100, the RS Computer Shoe was released. It was the first-ever analytical shoe that gave runners the power of computing to aid in performance. A custom-designed computer chip built into the right heel automatically records the time, distance and calories expended then communicates the results once plugged using a 16-pin cord to any Apple IIE, Commodore 64 of 128 or IBM PC Computer. It was the intelligent way to run and was way ahead of its time.

Following the success of the two R-SYSTEM models, the RS-350 was released in 1987. The RS-350 is an example of streamlined ?80s running design, offering support in the midsole as well as rubber details on the heel, definitely an elevated version amongst the R-SYSTEM family.

R-SYSTEM REBOOT – Puma RS-0

The new Puma RS-0 has undergone a future-retro makeover with a totally new model that lives in the future and yet resembles its past. This RS-0 introduction model indicates what “next” means for PUMA and its Green colorway is a futuristic take on PUMA?s iconic Archive Green.

Yup! You read that right. A SEGA x Puma collab is on the way. This new partnership will include a collaboration that is sure to bring out the best of both worlds as SEGA’s iconic Sonic the Hedgehog joins forces with Puma’s all-new RS-0 sneaker.

This partnership comes at a time when both brands are experiencing a resurgence. This Spring, PUMA is launching the new RS-0 shoe, which is a reboot of their classic 80?s Running System (RS) line.

For SEGA it underlines their continued efforts to align key franchises within the SEGA portfolio with high-end and highly visible brands from the worlds of fashion, lifestyle and art.

No images of the shoe have leaked just yet, but above you will get a pixelated (it’s only right, right?) teaser of the shoe that looks like it’s utilizing a Sonic-inspired color scheme. There’s also a video that’s sure to get you even more excited for this release.

Puma just announced that they are partnering up with BTS. For those of you who don’t know, BTS is a world-renowned Seoul-based K-pop group comprised of V, SUGA, JungKook, RM, Jin, j-hope and Jimin. They’ve been making huge waves in the music scene and are loved by millions of fans from their home base to the far corners of the globe.

BTS has partnered with PUMA in South Korea since 2015 on brand campaigns and product collaborations. This year, BTS and Puma will  release their collaborative product worldwide, which includes a remix of the classic Puma Turin and stylish sportswear basics. The PUMAxBTS collection will be first available in Korea this Spring, with other regions following up later this summer. Additionally, BTS will be seen in PUMA campaigns this year for the brand?s Sportstyle range, which includes classic PUMA icons such as the PUMA Suede and T-7 Track Suits.

BTS won the ?Top Social Artist? last year at the Billboard Music Awards, one of the top three music awards in the United States. They were also officially invited to the American Music Awards (AMA) to perform on stage, being the first K-pop group to do so, increasing the reputation of K-pop music and culture. In addition, they released the remix album ‘MIC Drop’ last November, making it to 28th place on the ‘Hot 100’, the Billboard singles chart, in the United States, which is the top record for a K-pop group.
