A Detailed Look At The Nike Air Max Zero Tokyo

Air Max Day is only a few weeks away, which means Nike Running and Nike Sportswear have a seemingly endless amount of exclusive heat planned to release in the near future. Among those special edition releases that help celebrate Air Max’s rise to dominance is this Nike Air Max Zero “Tokyo”, a women’s exclusive that takes inspiration from the Asian city’s unique art scene. A simple wavy pattern hits the forefoot and heel in a contrasting Midnight Navy stitching while Champagne Pink suede and mesh update what was once just a lost drawing in Tinker Hatfield’s sketchbook. This Air Max Zero is a part of a larger “City Collection” and also features gold lace dubraes and tips that utilize TKO callouts. You can expect this women’s exclusive to hit retailers on March 26th so check out more official photos below.

Nike Air Max 90 Seahawks For Kids

By now you should know the rapport Nike has with the Seattle Seahawks. The close proximity Nike’s Beaverton campus has with the only Pacific Northwest football franchise led to the Swoosh redesigning Seattle’s uniforms in a way to make them the NFL’s Oregon Ducks. Bright doses of electric green paired with obsidian and grey created one of the most visually memorable uniform sets in the NFL today – and having a good team didn’t hurt merchandise sales either. The latest Nike Air Max 90 colorway utilizes a look tailor-made for young ‘Hawks fans as a combination of Cool Grey, Voltage Green, and Midnight Navy come together to exude a certain 12th man appearance. The only shade that doesn’t necessarily match is that teal branding on the tongue, but even that looks oceanic in nature. What do you think of the look? European Foot Lockers are stocking the pair today, so check out a better view below.

Nike Air Huarache Ultra Fiberglass

The Nike Air Huarache Ultra is just one of the updated, modern takes on Tinker Hatfield’s 1991 classic. After the revitalization of the Huarache silhouette over the past two years, Nike Sportswear has slimmed down the outsole and created a one-piece knit upper in the Nike Huarache Ultra that’s been a lifestyle go-to for any and everyone. The neoprene slip-on sock fit has stayed but new tech like Dynamic Flywire has added support to the sleek design to win over even those privy to the Air Huarache’s original form. Today we get a look at an upcoming women’s exclusive “Fiberglass” option, as a minty shade of pastel aqua contrasts with an electric green heel strap. Be sure to check out more of this women’s exclusive Huarache offering below and be on the lookout for this colorway to hit retailers at the end of the month.

Not only is Nike bringing back the Nike Mayfly Woven, they also plan on bringing back classic colorways like the ones you see in the images above. We’ve already gone over the Terra Red colorway, today we go over a handful of new colorways.

The woven version of the Nike Mayfly comes constructed out of a suede upper. What really makes the shoes stand out is the woven construction that goes all around the shoe. Adding a premium feel to the shoe are the tonal leather accents placed on the heel. Branding is spotted on the tongue and heel. Matching laces and an all-white sole unit sole unit complete the look. Check out all the color offerings above and let us know which pair you like the most. Already available internationally, we will let you know once these arrive stateside.

Author?s Take

I like the Mayfly Woven better than the regular Mayfly. The woven hits on the upper really help make the shoe what it is without over-powering the look of it. Pretty cool looking shoe.

Celebrate Kobes Farewell Tour With The Nike Kobe 11 Elite 4KB

Multi-Colored Flyknit Kobes? Sign us up. With every passing Lakers’ game, we get one step closer to the end of Kobe Bryant’s illustrious career. Of course, the Kobe Bryant line with Nike Basketball will continue after the Black Mamba hangs it up for good, but the future remains blurry – we don’t know exactly how the Swoosh will tackle a post-retirement Kobe line or if his signature line will continue. That’s why every Nike Kobe 11 Elite release remains special. The combination of this crystal clear “KB4” colorway features a pristine white base while that coveted array of Multi-Color interwoven Flyknit yarn hits the side panels to subtly add some vibrancy behind the clean white leather Swoosh branding. This Kobe 11 will drop tomorrow, Marc 14th for $220 but you can grab your size right now on eBay.

The 2016 Men’s NCAA March Madness Tournament Bracket matchups will be announced on Sunday, March 13th. That means that the games are about to begin! Are you ready? If you need another reason to get hyped for the beginning of March Madness, today we take a look at the Nike Air Force 1 Low March Madness Pack.

The trio of Nike Air Force 1 Lows you see above prepare you for the tournament as they com dressed in a vintage suede that pays tribute to legendary college programs and they look good doing it. The shoe’s uppers are made out of suede, neoprene and leather, but the most notable feature on all three come in the form of the little icons placed on the heel of the shoe. The icons on the heel represent the spirit of success where basketballs, nets and scissors symbolize cutting down the nets. All three colorways are available now at select retailers for $90. Cop or drop?

via: VILLA

Author’s Take

Meh, they don’t do anything for me. The color schemes are just okay. Aside from the little icons on the heel, there’s nothing I really like on the shoe.

New Colorways Of The Nike Roshe Daybreak NM Have Arrived

Nike Roshe Daybreak NM 1 Nike Roshe Daybreak NM 2

Some of the first colorways of the Nike Roshe Daybreak NM opted for a bold look as orange and green graced the upper of the shoes. This time around Nike appears to tone it down a bit as a more traditional black and white makeup appear on the uppers of these versions.

The shoes are constructed out of mesh and suede uppers that exude a monochromatic look. The first pair comes in a predominantly white upper offset by the hits of black placed on the Nike Swoosh and heel tab of the shoe. The second pair comes in a black upper, with white appearing on the underlay as well as on the heel tab and Nike Swoosh of the shoe. Both models are sitting on top of the Roshe Run NM sole to complete the blueprint of the shoe. Available now at select retailers, pick up either pair for $120.

Author’s Take

I have lots of Roshe Runs, which I love, but this hybrid version of the shoe doesn’t cut it for me. The new look of the upper is not my style regardless of the color they put on it.

The Nike LeBron 13 Low Metallic Silver Is Now Available

Sunny days are fast approaching, so you know what that means…The Nike LeBron 13 Low models are on the way. One of the first colorways to release is the Nike LeBron 13 Low Metallic Silver, today we get another look at the shoe.

The main difference between the LeBron 13 and the LeBron 13 Low is the fact that low-top does not have the Posite features on the upper, while the shoes boast a visible Air Max on the heel, something you don’t the on the Nike LeBron 13 mid. This particular colorway comes in a white and Metallic Silver upper that exuded a tonal makeup on the shoe. The outsole comes in icy translucent fashion to complete the main features on the shoe. Available now, pick up your pair at select Nike stockists for the retail price of $175.

Author’s Take

It looks way better than the Nike LeBron 13 (mid). If a dope color arises I would not hesitate in picking it up.

Hot Take: Are The Results Of The Nike Air Max Vote Back A Travesty Or A Sign Of The Times

Now close your eyes and imagine for a second that Jordan Brand decided to bring back one retro – and it can be any retro – as voted on by the fans. They would have the opportunity to vote once a day for two weeks with the winner to be announced on Air Jordan Day, a made-up holiday celebrating all things Jordan retros (you know, besides every Saturday). Finally, a chance for us to bring back the “Nike Air” Jordan 3 Black/Cement. Or maybe a second shot at the Air Jordan 11 Defining Moments this time as a solo release. How about something a little out of left field like the Air Jordan XX3 Titanium or even the Holiest of Sneaker Grails like the UNDFTD Air Jordan 4? Everything is in play.

Now imagine a few days after voting began, the top two vote getters are the Air Jordan 4 Toro and the PSNY x Air Jordan 12. Seriously. You would think it’s a joke, right? No way people just picked an overhyped 2013 release and one of the best retros of 2015 – as in it just came out a few months ago – as the retros they would want the most out of the vast number of options Nike gave them. But if the current results for the Nike Air Max Vote Back – where fans can choose from a huge swath of kicks from the rich history of the tech – is any indication, that’s what would happen in a hypothetical Air Jordan situation.

Nike Air Max Vote Back Results 1

Look, recency bias is very real. The current top two kicks right now are the Nike Air Max 90 Duck Camo and the first Nike Air Max Zero (I’m forgiving the Nike Flyknit Air Max because if they give us a stupid awesome multicolor Flyknit that we’ve never seen before it’ll be worth it). They received a ton of coverage from the blogs pre-release, during release and post-release. They were on a lot of top 10 lists for sneaker of the year. They were heavily hyped from all sides and they command huge premiums in the secondary market. They’re fresh in the minds of people and they want a second chance. It’s not that they are bad kicks (what’s bad is that awful Air Max Lunar90 Lunar Landing cracking be top 5), but it’s curious that they are the leaders when people are always talking about bringing back the classics and remembering the good old days. Apparently those people also have a lot of Camo fits that are sorely missing a sneaker that makes sense of it all.

It’s not like this is voting for the President (that’s a clusterf**k on a whole different level) by any means. However, this is the rare chance Nike is actually allowing themselves to be influenced by the people in a very direct and visible way. We always complain that Nike never gives us what we want and that when they do enact change, it’s too little too late. If the Duck Camo were to win, it sends a very real message of who actually dominates the conversation. For all the hemming and hawing that they do, you would think that the “highly influential” sneaker community that has beaten the drum of the OG would have already gamed this voting and gotten general public and the hypebeasts to vote “correctly”. I guess not that’s not the case.

But what if this is actually the blowback by the “silent majority”? What if this is their way of saying that they’re tired of the elite (the influencers, the bloggers and the youtubers) telling them what they should want? Are the old ‘heads complaining like the sky is falling just a bunch of Oscar Robertsons and the kids are Steph Curry fans? Could it really run that deep?

Atmos x Nike Air Max 1 Elephant
Vote for this. Right now. Pretend I’m influential for a second and hear me out.

Nah, it’s early in the voting, it’ll work itself out. The Atmos x Nike Air Max 1 Elephant will win. At least I hope it does. Or the Duck Camo wins and sneaker culture just eats itself alive, I don’t know. It’s a young person’s game after all and some people just like watching the world burn. Somebody needs to get in touch with Nate Silver and the FiveThirtyEight crew to do a deep dive into this voting process.
