Black Python Covers The Nike Air Huarache

Nike Air Huarache 1 Nike Air Huarache 2 Nike Air Huarache 3 Nike Air Huarache 4 Nike Air Huarache 5 Nike Air Huarache 6

Earlier this week Nike released a pretty impressive Air Huarache Easter Pack that was designed exclusively for the ladies. As is the case many times with Huaraches, lots of guys were unhappy because they ONLY released in women’s sizes and they weren’t able to get a pair.

It’s not all bad news for the guys because a brand new colorway of the Nike Air Huarache has just surfaced, and don’t worry this one’s for you fellas. This new sleek Air Huarache is highlighted by black snake/python skin overlays that appear on the side panels and toe. The rest of the shoe is also done in a traditional black neoprene along with a contrasting white midsole and black rubber outsole.

You can find this Black Python colorway of the Nike Air Huarache at select Nike retailers now for a retail price of $120. What are your thoughts on this colorway?

Author’s Take

It’s been quite some time since I’ve seen a colorway of the Nike Air Huarache that I’ve liked as much as I like this pair. The black python overlays give such a nice luxurious look to the shoe. I’ll definitely be trying to buy a pair.

Nike has been releasing their new Air Max City Collection throughout the week with the Air Max 1 Ultra Paris and Air Max 90 Ultra Shanghai both releasing in the last couple of days.

On deck to release tomorrow is the next sneaker from the collection with the Nike Air Max BW Ultra that draws inspiration from the city of London. The mudguard on this BW Ultra is inspired by Victorian patterns and features London’s design heritage in black. The majority of the upper is then done in beige/tan while a white midsole provides some contrast.

Scheduled to release on March 18th at select Nike retailers and nike.com for a retail price of $150, will you be picking up the Nike WMNS Air Max BW Ultra London? Let us know down in the comments below.

Author’s Take

Initially I wasn’t a fan of the Air Max BW Ultra judging from colorways that I’ve seen in the past. But this tan pair looks appealing thanks to the addition of the graphic mudguard. Not bad, not bad at all.

An Interview With Tiffany Beers, Senior Innovator For The Nike HyperAdapt 1.0

The name Tiffany Beers is one you’ve most certainly heard of before. She’s got one of the coolest titles within Nike – Senior Innovator – and her job is to uplift shoes to unthinkable levels. She started her career in Plastics, working for the Rubbermaid company, and somehow ended up under the wing of Tinker Hatfield, the greatest footwear designer and innovator in history. Once a protege of Tinker’s, Tiffany will most certainly carry the brand to the future, and her vision from within the Innovation Kitchen is a big reason why Nike continues to shatter convention and bring some revolutionary products to the main stage.

Nike Kyrie 2 Duke PE 1 Nike Kyrie 2 Duke PE 2 Nike Kyrie 2 Duke PE 3 Nike Kyrie 2 Duke PE 4 Nike Kyrie 2 Duke PE 5 Nike Kyrie 2 Duke PE 6 kyrie 2

Releasing this weekend will be the first PE version of the Nike Kyrie 2 with this Duke colorway that pays homage to the place that Kyrie called home before he was drafted by the Cleveland Cavaliers.

The Nike Kyrie 2 Duke PE comes dressed in a predominantly Black upper with Game Royal detailing on the outsole and branding on the tongue, heel and strap. Reflect Silver then covers the Nike Swoosh on the midsole, as well as the Kyrie and number branding on the tongues and the DUKE branding on each heel. For those of you that care, the Duke writing on the heel will also be reflective so it’ll give off a nice shine when hit by the light.

You’ll be able to purchase the Nike Kyrie 2 Duke PE right on time for March Madness when it hits nike.com and select Nike retailers on March 19th for $120.

Nike Reveals Gilas Pilipinas (Philippines) 2016 Olympics Uniform

Day 2 of the Nike Innovation Summit is under way in New York City and one of the highlights so far is the reveal of the uniforms that the Men’s and Women’s USA Basketball Olympic squads will be wearing in Rio this summer. Kevin Durant – wearing the new Nike KD 9 of course – and Elena Delle Donne were in attendance to show off the new gear.

Along with Team USA, several other countries were also represented, including China, Canada, Brazil and more. But the real highlight for me was the reveal of the Gilas Pilipinas (Philippines) uniform in both home white and road blues. We did it, people. We’re on the main stage.

@kustoo
@kustoo

Revealed yesterday to the public, the Nike Vapor basketball uniform concept will feature a slimmer fit that allows for base layer options like sleeves and compression gear that doesn’t impede a player’s performance. The Gilas jersey features updated fonts, colors and numbering. Although we didn’t see it in action, the iridescent name and numbers will actually appear and disappear based on how the light bends respective to the athlete.

Gilas Pilipinas – led by former NBA player Andray Blatche (no, seriously) – will wear the uniforms in July as they try to qualify for a spot in Rio at the 2016 FIBA Olympic Qualifying Tournamte in Manila. The Philippines is grouped with France, New Zealand, Canada, Senegal and Turkey.

While the road for Gilas will be tough in 2016, I’m already looking ahead to 2020 when these two will suit up for senior team.

Someone really needs to talk to them about their hair though...

Python Skin Hits The Nike Air Huarache

The Nike Air Huarache’s tenure as Nike Sportswear’s go-to model is probably over. The silhouette has since been replaced by the likes of other Huarache silhouettes that showcase new technology and modern revamps, but that doesn’t mean that Tinker Hatfield’s 1991 classic isn’t still very much a part of the magic that happens over at NSW. The move has afforded the Swoosh with opportunities to dress up the retro in a number of lifestyle looks like this recent “Black Snakeskin” drop. Synthetic snake leather hits the overlays for a bold finish while a more traditional black neoprene makes up the majority of the upper for that signature slip-on comfort. Be sure to check out more photos below and grab your pair right now via Rock City Kicks.

Heres What Kevin Durant Had To Say About The Nike KD 9

Not even twenty-four hours removed from pulverizing the Boston Celtics, Kevin Durant is back to work. Today, for Day of Nike’s Innovation For Everybody event in New York City, KD clocked in some key hours with Nike to debut the new system of dress for Team USA basketball and to speak with media about his new signature shoe, the Nike KD 9. Durant’s a veteran of the signature shoe game, and with nine shoes under his belt, there’s not many individuals out there who understand the shoe production process as thoroughly as he does. Without further ado, here’s a short interview with Kevin Durant with a group of media.

Which Pair From The Nike Air Force 1 Low J Pack Has A Better Look

NIKE AIR FORCE 1 LOW J-PACK 1 NIKE AIR FORCE 1 LOW J-PACK 2 NIKE AIR FORCE 1 LOW J-PACK 3 NIKE AIR FORCE 1 LOW J-PACK 4 NIKE AIR FORCE 1 LOW J-PACK 5

The say that imitation is the sincerest form of flattery. If that’s the case then the Air Jordan 1 is on full-blush mode right about now. The Nike Air Force 1 Low J Pack is inspired by none other than the Air Force 1 and pays its respects by coming in the same colorway and color blocking as the classic Jordan silhouette.

The Air Force 1 Low comes dressed in a leather upper coming in either the Royal or Bred color scheme. As you can see on the images above, the same color blocking is also used on the shoe to mimic the look to the exact specifications. Nike branding is seen on the tongue and heel, while a white midsole and tonal outsole complete the look. Said to be dropping sometime in the Spring/Summer we’re hoping that it’s only a matter of time before you can get your hands on a pair.

Author’s Take

The shoe is cool. I just see the point of it. Jordan Brand recently came out with an Air Jordan 1 Low in the Bred and Royal colorway. If you want the look if the Air Jordan, why not just get the actual pair?

First and foremost we want to wish all of our readers out there a Happy St. Patrick’s Day! Now if you want to buy a fresh pair of green kicks, Nike just made these St. Patrick’s Day Air Force 1s available.

Previewed on the sight earlier this week, this colorway of the Nike Air Force 1 High OG definitely has some St. Patty’s Day vibes to it thanks to the white leather upper combined with the Pine Green detailing on the Swoosh, ankle strap, outsole and the Nike Air branding on the tongue and heel.

Readily available now on nike.com for $120, will you be scooping up a pair?

via: Nike

Author’s Take

I don’t own more than a couple of pairs of green shoes, but this Air Force 1 is a pair that I wouldn’t mind adding to my collection. The only things I’d have to do is buy more green clothes to match with the kicks.

The Nike Roshe Triple White Is Back In Stores

Haven’t grown tired of the white on white look? Neither have we. You can’t have enough pristine white sneakers in your collection and that’s something that Wale and Jerry Seinfeld would agree with too. The Nike Roshe Run has been busy with Flyknit uppers and diversifying its portfolio with a number of Tech Fleece uppers, but sometimes it’s best to go back to the basics – especially given that Dylan Raasch’s 2012 design was created on the idea of Zen-like simplicity. Nike Sportswear is bringing the instant classic back in a baking soda white for the perfect Spring 2016 look that you can rock well into the summer months. Get with us after the break for a look at what could be the cleanest Roshe in history and buy your pair from retailers like Politics today for $75 USD.

10 Takeaways From The Nike Innovation Summit

The Nike Innovation Summit took place yesterday in New York City to much fanfare and speculation. Now we’re left to dissect, discuss and discover what all went down. It’s an interesting event that dropped plenty of information and set the stage for what Nike has in store for the rest of the year. Think of it like an E3 press conference where the big bosses of the industry (with special guest Kevin Hart because he’s in everything) get on the stage and introduce new hardware and new games for the fans to salivate over. Sneakerheads might not salivate but they were sweating – especially those who got to try on the new gear – this one for sure.

While there was a lot to unpack in NYC, here are 10 things that we took away from the event that might be of consequence to our readers in the coming months ahead.

10. The Looks On People’s Faces When They See The Nike Hyperdunk 2016

Nike
Nike

The Flyknit collar that we’ve started to see pop up in the Nike LunarEpic and the Nike Koston 3 continues to make their way towards other departments in Nike’s house with the Hyperdunk being the most stunning iteration yet. If the promising new Zoom Air unit with the hollowed out sole lives up to expectations, it’ll be the most comfortable and best performing Hyperdunk, which is high praise.

However, I can’t wait to see what people who don’t pay attention to sneakers all that much think when they see them in stores.

Ice Cube Stare

It’s actually the best-looking Hyperdunk in my estimation, but that collar is going to get a lot of reactions and it’s now always good based on personal experience.

9. Nike LunarEpic Flyknit Low? Of Course…

Via Sneakernews
Via Sneakernews

Remember when you freaked out that Nike had lost their minds when the Nike Kobe 9 Elite was first revealed? Remember when you were relieved to find out that there was a low-cut Nike Kobe 9 Elite? Basically whenever Nike goes that high, never forget that they can always cut it off and go low.

I’ve been singing the praises of the LunarEpic ever since I got a pair, but anybody I ever talked to always came back to that collar. Well, at the Innovation Summit, a low-cut version of the LunarEpic was found on display. Not that that should be a surprise anymore, right?

8. The Nike Air VaporMax Makes Your Air Max 2016 Look Old

Nike
Nike

The Nike Air Max 2016 has engineered mesh, a cushy foam midsole and the Air Max bubble you know and love. It improves upon the Air Max 2015, which improved upon the Air Max 2014 that improved upon the Air Max 201… you get the idea. The Nike Air VaporMax uses Flyknit and a new Air unit that eliminates the need for a foam midsole. It claims to be lighter and even more flexible than previous years. Less refinement and more evolution. Enjoy your 2016s while you can.

7. Better Start Getting In Shape If You Want To Wear Those Nike Vapor Uniforms Once They Hit The NBA

Nike
Nike

So those new Nike Vapor uniforms with Aeroswift technology look really nice and you know Nike will have something special ready to go when they take over the NBA license in 2017. But those slim fitting jerseys are not going to be a good look on the typical fan that listens to sports radio like its gospel. Start hitting that gym now, folks.

6. Good To See The Rest Of Nike Is Finally Catching Up To Kobe

Nike
Nike

It’s a little bit of a troll, but I can imagine Kobe just watching the Innovation Summit unfold – especially all the KD 9 news – and hear how much Flyknit has become ingrained in so many Nike products now and just laugh because he was ahead of the curve. Meanwhile, he’s calling Eric Avar at three in the morning and asking what Nike has coming down the pipeline a few years from now because he wants it on the Kobe 12 now.

5. Nike Doesn’t Care For Your Graphic Socks

Nike
Nike

Nike is way more concerned about making sure your sock isn’t slipping and sliding in your shoe than making a sock with Kyrie Irving on the karaoke mic (although that would be great). NikeGRIP has a chance to be this generation’s Nike’s Elite socks in that they can transcend the sneaker world with their easy and simple color palette and develop their own cottage industry like the Elites did.

4. The Nike HyperAdapt 1.0 Makes Us Hopeful For The Future

Nike HyperAdapt Mag FlyEase LeadRead this. I’m very hopeful about what HyperAdapt can do for a segment of the population that has been underserved for a very long time.

3. Tinker Hatfield’s Shirt Tho…

@wsjmag
@wsjmag

Seriously, that shirt is everything. If you think that pattern or some piece of it won’t end up on a shoe one day you haven’t been paying attention.

2. I’m Ready For The All-Flyknit Future

It’s the default setting now. I’ve been on board that Flyknit train ever since I wore my first pair of Flyknit Lunars years ago so it is great to see Nike just keep evolving the tech and refining it to the point to where it no longer needs Nikeskin or whatever glue or layering that was once necessary to make them work on a basketball or golf shoe. It helps the environment, reduces production times and is a whole lot easier to store than a pair of retros. There will always be room for premium leather kicks, but I’m ready to embrace our Flyknit overlords.

1. The Curious Nike Air Zoom KD 9 Price Drop

This might be the biggest deal of them all. For years, we have watched KD’s line skyrocket in price to its current level of $180. It was a tough pill to swallow for everybody involved, but we just chalked that up to the world we live in and business reasons. People were buying KD’s shoes so that justified the constant price jumps. So to see it roll back, there are a few things to consider:

  • Nike is finally passing the savings of Flyknit construction on to the consumer
  • Nike KDs were sitting on shelves waiting to be sold at half off
  • It’ll be interesting to see what the LeBron 14 and Kobe 12 will sell for

Granted, $150 might not be impulse buy territory, but fans will eat up this goodwill gesture, especially if the colorways are hot. The cliche of going back to move forward actually works here.

Riccardo Tisci And NikeLab Team Up For Olympics Inspired Training Collection

The Rio Olympics are months away and you already know Nike has some big things in the works for this summer’s biggest sporting event. To kick things off, NikeLab and Riccardo Tisci joined forces to create the Training Redefined Collection, marked by a kaleidoscopic graphic that includes floral print schemes inspired by the natural flora of Oregon, Italy, and Rio De Janeiro. While it doesn’t appear that footwear will be part of the capsule, you can never rule that out given the previous history of Nike x RT collaborations. Expect a release this July 2016, followed by another wave of releases in August.
