This Nike Air Max 1 Rocks Safari And Elephant Print

NIKE AIR MAX 1 1 NIKE AIR MAX 1 2 NIKE AIR MAX 1 3 NIKE AIR MAX 1 4

In the past we’ve seen Nike Air Max 1 models use Safari print on their. We’ve even seen the classic Air Max model rock the Elephant print. Very seldom, if ever do see the shoe rock both prints. Today we take a look at a premium version of the shoe rocking both Elephant and Safari print.

The shoe is constructed out of a light colored suede and brown leather material. Adding some pop to the shoe is the neon lime hits placed on the lining and eyelets, Nike branding on the tongue and heel and the Air unit inside the sole of the shoe. A canvas tongue gives the shoe some added dimension. With all that being said, the main focus on the shoe lies in the used of both prints on the upper. Elephant print is placed on the toe, side panels and heel, while the Safari print covers the entire mudguard of the shoe. If you like what you see, you can now pick up a pair at select retailers for $120.

Author’s Take

I love Safari print. I love Elephant print. I don’t like both of them on my shoe. It’s doing too much, and adding the neon lime hit was a bad choice in my opinion.

The Nike KD 9 Flyknit Price Drop Does Right By Sneakerheads, But Is It Enough (Video)

?You get a $250 shoe for like $150… That?s a great bargain right there.? – Kevin Durant when asked about the price of the KD 9 Flyknit, which will retail for $150.

Basketball never stops for Nike and even though they haven’t used that tagline for a while now, it still applies to this day, especially in an Olympic year. Soon after the curtains falls on the current NBA season, Nike will be dropping the new Nike KD 9 Flyknit onto sneakerheads and ballers with a new Flyknit look and technology that will catch the eyes of a lot of people. Flyknit is quickly becoming the accepted default tech of most new Nike kicks and with Kobe having already used Flyknit for a while now and Jordan Brand implementing their own woven techniques onto their signature shoe, it was only a matter of time before the rest of Nike Basketball caught up. That time is now.

KD 9 1 KD 9 4 Nike KD 9 3 KD 9 5

But what will definitely get people talking is the $150 price tag, a huge drop from the current Nike KD 8 that retails for $180. Is this is a response to the lackluster – or what appears to be lackluster judging from the dearth of KD 8s getting huge price drops – sales of the KD 8 and LeBron 13? As Kobe Bryant is set to retire and take his signature line to strange places, Kyrie Irving having a lackluster second year as a signature athlete and Stephen Curry becomes the new face of the NBA while also turning Under Armour into something of a threat to the swoosh, changes needed to be made at the swoosh.

Nike still needs to push the boundaries of design in order to justify dropping a new pair every year, but what KD used to be known for – quality kicks at family-friendly prices – had all been obliterated. At the heart of their company will always be innovation – Nike can’t and won’t stop that train – but if that innovation prices out most of the public, it won’t really matter how great that innovation is. That’s been proven by the KDs – even the beloved Aunt Pearl colorway – sitting on shelves.

Will this course correction be a new trend in Nike as Flyknit becomes more widely accepted and eases manufacturing costs and in turn passes the savings along to the consumer? Time will tell, but the KD 9 Flyknit is hopefully a step in that direction.

Let us know what you think about the Nike KD 9 Flyknit in the comments below and don’t forget to follow our coverage of the KD 9 Flyknit here.

Substitute the Nike Free 5.0 sole in exchange for a Lunarlon sole and I’m all over them. I just can’t do Free soles.

The Nike KD 8 Elite comes in a Grey tonal colorway done up in a different number of shades. Adding a luxe feel to the shoe is the snakeskin print placed on the overlay of the shoe. The shoe is cool. Initially, I didn’t like it. I personally would not buy it, but I understand the reasoning behind making the shoe look like it does. Performance over aesthetics.

The Release Of The Nike Air Footscape Motion Sakura Is Only Days Away

It’s been a while since we’ve seen a new Nike Air Footscape Motion review here at the Kicks on Fire archives, but that’s about to change as Nike is getting ready to release a Sakura version of the unique looking shoe. Today we take a look at the official images and release date of the Nike Air Footscape Motion Sakura.

Sakura means Cherry Blossom in Japan, and being that the flower is currently blooming as we speak, Nike decided to utilize that theme on to the shoe. The Footscape Motion starts off with a Dark grey base. The tonal look of the shoe is then accented by the “Sakura” details placed all over the shoe. In addition, the shoe also comes with 3M reflective detailing on the area surrounding the Nike Swoosh branding placed on the heel. Another notable feature worth mentioning is the fact that the shoe appears to come with two different insoles, in which one happens to be made out of cork. If you want to get a pair you will be able to do so soon and they’re set to release on April 2nd. Cop or drop? Let us know in the comments below.

Author’s Take

I’ve always had mixed emotions towards the Nike Air Footscape Motion. Some days I like it, some days I don’t. It’s a very abnormal looking sneaker. I guess since I’m on the fence about it and not completely in love with it, it’s probably best I pass on the shoe.

One Of Nikes Most Popular Sneakers In Japan Gets A Sakura Upgrade

Cherry blossom season is in full bloom in Japan right now and Nike Sportswear is taking advantage of the beautiful occurrence with a number of exclusive graphic-heavy “Sakura” related releases this Spring 2016 release slate. To the uninitiated, Sakura is the Japanese word for a number of cherry blossom trees and has profound symbolism linking to the transience of life. NSW is upgrading their collection after introducing a Sakura Roshe Run with one of Japan’s favorite Nike retros, the Nike Air Footscape Motion. Known for its asymmetrical lacing system and unique chukka-like outsole (one that’s been repurposed countless times by Nike in years past), Nike drapes the dark grey base with a near-iridescent finish thanks to layers of cartoonish cherry blossoms. Alternate cork insoles come with the pair while reflective 3M detailing lands on the heel. This special edition Air Footscape Motion retro will arrive at retailers on April 2nd, but there’s still no word on sizing or pricing information. Stay tuned for more updates.

#SagerStrong: Craig Sager Wears Nike KD 7 EXT Snake iD In Return To Sidelines

The basketball world got a dose of bright-colored goodness and life on Tuesday Night when TNT sideline reporter Craig Sager was in Oakland to cover the Golden State Warriors game against the Washington Wizards. This was the first game Sager has been a part of since announcing in an interview on HBO’s Real Sports last week that the acute myleoid lukemia he has been battling for quite some time was no longer in remission.

Noah Graham/Getty Images
Noah Graham/Getty Images

As you might expect, the NBA family and the rest of the sports world was happy to see Sager. Even as he tried his best to conduct interviews and talk about the ongoing game, everybody he talked to from Wizards coach Randy Wittman to Festus Ezeli to Kenny Smith and Stephen Curry wanted to thank the broadcaster for being there and offering words of encouragement.

And because we live in 2016, the hashtag #SagerStrong blew up on social media on Tuesday with people rocking their finest colorful suits. Not to be outdone, Sager brought the fire as with a suit that would make Kevin Garnett proud and a pair of kicks that we know Kevin Durant would love, a pair of Nike KD 7 EXT Snakeskin iDs that were sent to him by Nike last year. In a nice touch, the shoe includes the nicknames “Mr. Fancy” and “Suits” on the inside tongues.

Sager hopes to continue to work while he wages his battle with cancer for the rest of the regular season and into the playoffs. Hopefully he’ll get the chance to cover as many San Antonio games as possible not only because it’s close to where he gets his treatments in Houston, but also because we get to have more magical moments with Sager and Spurs coach Gregg Poppovich.

For those interested in learning more and donating to cancer research, they can go here. Another cool thing that has popped up recently is this awesome pin below featuring Sager and Pop with proceeds from the sales going to cancer research as well.
