Nike Takes A Subtle Approach To 4/20 With A Dunk Made Of Hemp

Going a bit more subtle this year for the 4/20 theme than they have in previous years with models like the “Skunk Dunk” and “Cheech and Chong” Dunk, Nike SB opts keep things chill with this year’s hemp construction of the Dunk Low. The upper featured a natural hemp textile, with woven paneling at the heel and a touch of Rasta colors in red and green for the tongue and heel branding. The Nike SB Dunk Low “Hemp” drops this Saturday, April 16th just ahead of the stoner holiday at sneaker shops like Renarts.

Author’s Take

This is a clean colorway to use on the shoe. Crimson was on heavy rotation for Nike last year, but now that the use has died down it feels refreshing once again.

I prefer the Freshwater colorway over this one. It just has a much classic look to it. Nice to see the model back, but I won’t be picking up this colorway.

Now Nike has announced that the UNDFTD x Nike Dunk Lux will be making its way to retailers on April 21st via the Nike SNKRS app. This collaborative pair of Dunks features a White leather upper with Black and Infrared accents inspired by the Air Max 90. “1985” and “NIKE” branding has been added on the side panels that represent the debut of the Nike Dunk. Other details include a drop-in Lunarlon midsole for added comfort and a durable rubber cupsole for traction.

Will you be picking up the UNDFTD x Nike Dunk Lux when it releases on April 21st? Let us know in the comments below.

Author’s Take

Other than the branding on the insoles and heel tab, you can’t really tell that this is a collaboration with UNDFTD. Regardless it’s still a decent colorway, but I’m not really a fan of Dunks as much as I used to be so these are a pass for me.

The Nike Kobe 11 Fade To Black Is Reselling For How Much!

Last night, Kobe Bryant had the best “final game” any player could ever ask for. The game and performance will go down as one of the best story book endings that a player has ever had in any professional sport. What will also be remembered are the shoes Kobe wore during that game, the Nike Kobe 11 Fade To Black.

The Black/Gold sneakers had released via The Draw earlier during the day, but by the end of the night, The Draw winners were already listing/selling the shoes online for an asking price of $1,000!

It’s always a good day when you win a raffle through the Nike SNKRSS app, but if you happened to win the latest one, consider yourself extra lucky. Did you get a pair? Are you keeping it? Selling it? Let us know in the comments below.

People Sitting Courtside During Kobes Final Game Were Gifted The Nike Kobe 11 Fade To Black

The people fortunate enough to obtain courtside tickets to Kobe’s final game got to witness a game for the ages! What they didn’t expect was Nike gifting them a free pair of Nike Kobe sneakers, and it wasn’t just any random sneaker either!

Nike decided to bless 20 courtside fans in attendance with a free pair of the Nike Kobe 11 Fade To Black, the same pair Kobe ended up wearing while dropping 60 in his final game. The Kobe 11 FTB released right before the game but very few people were able to acquire a pair, so you could say that getting one of them is kind of a big deal at the current moment.

The black and gold sneaker comes with the date of Kobe’s final game (4.13.16) placed on the heel of the shoe, making the shoe even more special that what it already is. If you happened to acquire a pair through the Nike SNKRS app, consider your self lucky as Darren Rovell recently tweeted out that Nike only made 2,000 pairs!

The Nike Kyrie 2 EYBL Releases Tomorrow

There’s a brand new colorway of the Nike Kyrie 2 hitting retailers tomorrow and it appears that it won’t be that easy to acquire.

Nike has chosen the Kyrie 2 as the silhouette of choice this year to collaborate with the Elite Youth Basketball League. We usually see the Nike KD line participate in this collaboration but this year there’s no sign of a KD 8 EYBL yet. The Nike Kyrie 2 EYBL features a full black upper with white speckling on the midsole and strap that may remind you of the Air Jordan 4 Fear. Capping things off is the EYBL logo by the ankle and a marbled outsole.

For those interested in picking up a pair, Foot Locker says that they’ll be releasing exclusively at House Of Hoops Fulton in Brooklyn tomorrow.
