Nikes Sequel To The Magista Football Boot Is Coming Soon

Nike focussed on creating a football boot so dynamic and lightweight that it could answer the question of ‘what if the foot had actually evolved to play the game of football?’. Designer Phil Woodman returned to answer that question with the Nike Magista 2, the latest soccer silhouette featuring a mid collar and the evolution of Nike’s coveted Flyknit technology. Created with the attempt to be an organic extension of the foot, Nike made the boot as lightweight as possible by mapping the Flyknit in a completely new way through the use of negative space. The Nike Magista 2 utilizes a new Dynamic Fit Collar, skipping out on the normal tongue construction so that the silhouette could utilize a light padding under the laces for added coverage to one of the foot’s most highly contacted areas. The “Heat Map” colorway actually mirrors the set of data collected when Woodman and Nike studied the foot’s high contact areas when playing the game of soccer – the darker the Flyknit section, the more likely the foot will contact the ball there. The Nike Magista 2 will be available July 24th on the Nike Football App. Check out a detailed look below and stay tuned for more updates right here on Sneaker News.

Popular soccer boot silhouettes — Nike Magista Obra and the Opus — receive its latest update this season with a new lineage.

Revamped with a new thermoformed Flyknit or Kanga-Lite upper, the silhouettes delivers an enhanced lockdown fit and ultimate control in all conditions. For a more secure fit, an internal heel counter has been implemented, while a grip sockliner enhances in-boot stability and is part of the boot?s overall traction system. Additionally, the stud configuration of the soleplate has been tweaked through Finite Element Analysis (FEA) — a scientific testing of the optimal pattern per style of play.

Each rendered in a vibrant color scheme of Volt/Total Orange/Pink Blast-Black, you can find both pairs at the Nike Football App on July 24th, while an online release is set for July 26.

Retail price is listed at $230 – $300.

You Wont Believe Where The Nike Air Trainer Cruz Red October Popped Up

NIKE AIR TRAINER CRUZ 1 NIKE AIR TRAINER CRUZ 2 NIKE AIR TRAINER CRUZ 3

When we first started getting leaked looks of the Nike Air Trainer Cruz (before it even released) one of the first colorways that surfaced was this all-red pair that many were calling the Red October colorway.

For reasons unknown, Nike decided to never officially release this color and instead gave us a handful of others. But did they really scrap it? According to a user on Nike Talk the shoe was recently available for purchase in a full size run at a Marshall’s location in Long Island. To make things even crazier, the sneakers were priced for only $60!!

If you would have spotted these at your local Marshall’s, would you have copped or passed?

A Royal Nike Metcon 2 Is Releasing Soon

About a year ago Nike released a special Nike Metcon, their first CrossFit trainer, that took inspiration from one of the most iconic sneakers of all-time, the Air Jordan 1 Bred. The shoe featured a black upper with strategic hits of Varsity Red throughout.

A year later we get our first look at a new colorway of the Nike Metcon 2 that takes inspiration from another iconic Air Jordan 1, this time the Royal 1. As you can see in the image above the Metcon 2 is dressed in a black/royal color scheme reminiscent of the Air Jordan 1. There’s rumors that this colorway will be releasing on July 18th, but nothing has been confirmed just yet.

via: nikemetconclub

Author’s Take

I don’t do CrossFit so I wouldn’t really wear these shoes. If I did I would definitely have picked these up and the Breds though.

You Can Pick Up The Nike KD 9 Mic Drop Now

Nike KD 9 Mic Drop 1 Nike KD 9 Mic Drop 2 Nike KD 9 Mic Drop 3

Over the weekend we saw the release of the latest Nike KD 9 which has been dubbed the Mic Drop colorway.

This simple colorway of the KD 9 features a black and white Flyknit upper along with additional white accents on the branding. A black midsole and Air Zoom unit keeps things tonal. It’s being said that this colorway takes inspiration from the color of Kevin Durant’s audio equipment in his home studio. Not sure how “cool” or significant the story behind the colorway is, but it is versatile and very easy to wear. You can scoop up the Nike KD 9 Mic Drop at select Nike retailers now for $150.

NikeLab Creates A Luxurious Dunk Low

NikeLab Dunk Low Lux 1 NikeLab Dunk Low Lux 2 NikeLab Dunk Low Lux 3 NikeLab Dunk Low Lux 4 NikeLab Dunk Low Lux 5 NikeLab Dunk Low Lux 6

Most of the time when NikeLab jumps on a project they like to take classic or brand new silhouettes from the Swoosh and give them a simple, clean and classic look. One of their favorite things to do is create tonal colorways like the multiple colorways of the Air Force 1 Mid and Low that released earlier this year.

Later this week we’ll be seeing NikeLab’s newest release as they take the Nike Dunk Low and create the premium NikeLab Dunk Low Lux. This shoe features a tonal premium black leather upper with a contrasting white midsole and black outsole. Nothing too complex, just a classic silhouette in a monochromatic colorway.

You can look for the NikeLabDunk Low Lux to release on July 14, 2016. Will you cop or drop?

via: Nike

Author’s Take

Maybe if this were a Dunk High I would have liked it, but even then the colorway is just too plan for my liking. Not a fan.
