Right off the bat, you can see that the classic Nike Dunk underwent a major transformation. The upper is made out of leather, and  Flywire is also visible on the panels. Other notable features include the jagged graphics and the ?Balance? branding on the heel. The Nike Air Zoom Generation Retro Releases On January 25th

The Nike Air Zoom Generation will release tonight in the “First Game” colorway through an exclusive auction through StockX. In addition, a wider release of the Air Zoom Generation “First Game” colorway is scheduled on January 25th, 2017 and will retail for $175. After confirming the shoe’s return last night, LeBron James went on to say that the Air Zoom Generation, his first signature shoe with Nike after signing a $90 million contract with the brand, is his favorite of all-time. When the shoes first dropped, the retail price was a fair $110. However, the 2017 Retro LeBrons will start at $175 in various OG and contemporary colorways, and we imagine higher-end versions, perhaps through the NikeLab channel, will be priced even higher.

While there certainly is demand for the LeBron Zoom Generation, it remains to be seen how the following models, which were never all that popular, will be received. Many sat on shelves and it wasn’t until Jason Petrie took the helm with the Air Max LeBron VII that the shoe was strongly considered by the sneaker community. His controversial switch to Miami gave the shoe even more edge, catapulting the signature line to new heights in terms of profitability.

Stay tuned for more details, but for now let it be known that the first LeBron Retro sneaker will be available tonight through the StockX auction and later on January 25th on Nike SNKRS and select retailers such as UNDFTD, KITH, Xhibition, Next, and more. Pictured above is an original Nike ad from 2003 for the Air Zoom Generation.

Nike Releases A Cortez Inspired By The Unstoppable Steve Prefontaine

When we first saw the Nike Cortez with new stop sign logos on the heel late last year, we were a bit perplexed. But now it all makes sense. Nike clues us all in with the debut of the original white, red, and blue colorway also featuring the stop sign, which is a reference to the “Stop Pre” shirts circulating around at the height of legendary long-distance runner Steve Prefontaine’s career in the early 1970s?back in the days when Nike with their new Cortez model were just getting started. This new premium edition of the iconic Cortez not only has the stops signs on the heels, but also receives a ’70s style graphic on each insole, the text “Tradition Never Stops” on the inside of the tongue, and a custom drawstring bag to store them in. The “Stop Pre” Cortez will launch January 28th on the Nike SNKRS app, and will also be available at select Nike Sportswear retailers.

UNDERCOVER Designed The Craziest Nike Dunk Weve Ever Seen

Nike fans are well familiar with Jun Takahashi’s UNDERCOVER label for the numerous high-tech running collaborations with NikeLab Gyakusou over the past couple of years, but the Japanese imprint has had a long love affair with the Nike Dunk as well. Not only did they transform the Nike Dunk Sky Hi during the whole ‘sneaker wedge’ movement a couple years back, but UNDERCOVER has now added a Huarache-like tooling to the iconic basketball turned skate model with the upcoming UNDERCOVER Nike Jungle Dunk collaboration slated to arrive at international retailers on January 18th, 2017.

The UNDERCOVER Nike Jungle Dunk benefits from a premium tumbled leather base in a head-turning Loyal Blue, additional Dynamic Flywire, a natural motion inspired outsole unit that’s rugged enough to withstand the toughest of winter elements and new weather resistant tape tooling on the toebox. But perhaps the most head-turning addition to this boot-inspired Nike Dunk is the heel cage belonging to Tinker Hatfield’s 1991 classic, the Nike Air Huarache. The back reads ‘Balance’ in black to match the Swoosh branding while an aggressive jagged pattern matches the clean white midsole and outsole. What do you think of UNDERCOVER’s latest collaboration with Nike Sportswear?

Check out more detailed shots below and grab your pair on January 18th. Be sure to head over to our always-updated Release Dates page for more of the latest and greatest headed to retailers this January.
