A Whole Bunch Of Air Jordan 31 Player Exclusives For Olympic National Teams
By SoleInsider
The Rio Olympics are underway. If you’re a fan of the sport of basketball, keep an eye on the feet of the players. Not only will players from team USA be rocking heat, but players from other national teams will also have some goodies to show off in the form of Air Jordan 31 PEs.
What you see above are PE colorways of the Air Jordan 31, not only for team USA, but for team Brazil and Croatia as well. Shades of Green, Black and White makes up the Brazil PE version. Red, Black and White hues represent Croatia, and of course the good ol’ Red, White and Blue create the USA team colorways. Make sure you check out all three teams play to see the shoes in action!
What is that, velvet? As a matter of fact, yes, yes it is! What you see above is the first image of a GS colorway placed on the Air Jordan 1 High. Said to be a part of the Heiress Collection, the Jordan 1 comes draped in a smooth velvet upper to give the classic model a smooth and lush motif.
The shoe comes constructed out of velvet and suede and done in a tonal Maroon/Burgundy colorway. Seeing suede is nothing new on this model, but the star of the shoe is definitely the use of suede placed certain parts of the upper. Giving the shoe some nice contrast is the Metallic Gold noted on the branding. A White midsole and more Maroon takes care of the outsole. Said to be releasing later on this year, GS footers won’t have to wait much longer to pick up a pair.
It looks like the initial grey colorway will not be the only version of the “Quilted” Air Jordan 1 KO to release. Now we catch wind of a second look for the unique new construction of the KO, featuring an Obsidian upper with a quilted base and overlaying denim panels. Like the grey colorway, this dark blue version also features metal lace eyelets, this time in a brass color. The quilted Air Jordan 1 KO in Obsidian will hit select jordan Brand retailers beginning August 17th.

I?m not into high-cut silhouettes much, but, this offering is pretty solid. The build and inner bootie construction looks great, and the colorway is versatile overall.

Add The Air Jordan 1 High Premium Essentials To Your Rotation This Weekend
By SoleInsider
The Air Jordan 1 has long-since been a staple of anyone’s footwear rotation. The iconic silhouette will go down in history as one of the pairs that birthed the modern day sneaker industry for its head turning “Banned” colorway, Michael Jordan’s on-court exploits, and the fact that it was the first in the signature Jumpman series. It’s transitioned flawlessly into the lifestyle realm as a status symbol of fashion statement. This weekend, Jordan Brand will pay homage to that lineage with the Jordan 1 Premium Essentials Pack due out Saturday, August 6th.
The Air Jordan 1 High “Premium Essentials” takes the model and gives it two simple, understated high-contrast colorways in either White/Black or Black/White. It’s hard to believe that Jordan Brand didn’t release these offerings earlier in the three-decade span of Jordan 1 dominance. Each pair will retail for $160 USD and feature classic ‘Nike Air’ branding on the tongue in red for a standout feature.
The Jordan 1 Premium Essentials is available right now on eBay.
Celebrate Team USAs Quest For Gold With The Jordan 7 Olympic Alternate
By SoleInsider
Team USA takes on China tomorrow August 6th at 6:00 PM, so what better way to celebrate than with the timely release of the Jordan 7 Olympic Alternate? This Olympic season, Jordan Brand decided to skip over the pair actually worn by Michael Jordan during the 1992 Barcelona Games for an alternate sample created by Tinker Hatfield that never released, until now.
The Air Jordan 7 “Olympic Alternate” features a Deep Royal Blue shade throughout the upper that more closely resembles this year’s Team USA Nike Basketball uniforms than any other kit that preceded it. A white tumbled leather base adds a premium Remastered feel to the offering while Metallic Gold Coin lands on the Jumpman branding throughout in honor of the team’s pursuit of gold. A unique gradient midsole adds speckling throughout in Fire Red while a bold American flag graphic features Mike’s Olympic number 9 on the heel.
Are you a fan of Saturday’s Jordan 7 Olympic Alternate? Check out more photos below and if you can’t wait until then, know that you can find your pair right now on eBay.
Those who love the Air Jordan 3 and live in cold winter climates should take note, because the ultimate winter edition of the famous silhouette is coming soon. Just like the wool-constructed Air Jordan 12, the Air Jordan 3 gets a wool makeover to battle the cold months ahead, which we get a quick preview of here today. The wooly winter Air Jordan 3 features a tonal dark grey upper with the sole in solid off-white. Is this the ultimate winter Air Jordan release, or will you just stick to boots once the snow starts falling? If you do like what you see, anticipate the Air Jordan 3 “Wool” to hit select Jordan Brand retailers on December 17th for $200.
To coincide with the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil (August 5 – 21), an alternate iteration of the iconic Air Jordan 7 Olympic is scheduled to be offered.
Designed by Nike designer extraordinaire, Tinker Hatfield, this particular colorway slight differs from its predecessor. While compared to its original counterpart, hits of blue are more prominent across its underlays. Comprised of premium leather, the overall aesthetic is essentially filled with patriotic flair. Pristine white dominates the upper, as navy-colored nubuck is utilized for its underlays, in addition to more applied on the ankle portion and outsole.
To encapsulate the USA-inspired palette, vibrant pops of red adorn the midsole unit more prominently, while additional accents are applied on the heel and inner lining. Finishing touches of metallic gold are seen on the tongue label, lace tips and jumpman logo across the ankle to coordinate with its respective theme.
Latest News:
Update: (8/03) Tinker Hatfield acknowledges that this Alternate pair was 1 of 2 variations that he designed for the 1992 Summer Olympics and MJ had chosen the white-based version as his preferred pair.
Update: (8/03) PS and TD sizes will be offered as well, and retail for $80 and $60 respectively.
Update: (7/30) More official images are featured. GS sizes (3.5y ? 7y) will be offered and listed at $140.
Renz Ofiaza, News: I like the original version better. The colorway is still appealing, but I prefer the all-white upper instead. It should still get a lot of attention none the less.
