The Air Jordan 31 Fine Print will consist as the latest variation of the newly-introduced basketball sneaker, as it’s noted as an homage to Michael Jordan?s original Nike contract that was signed back in October 24, 1984.

Now showcasing its official look, the model will also be offered in GS sizing. The sneaker’s traditional palette of black/white and wolf grey throughout its woven and leather makeup is essentially reminiscent of the colors seen on the document. All resting atop a crisp white midsole unit and icy translucent outsole, it also bears MJ?s signature on the forefoot to cap off the respective theme.

Priced at $185, you can expect to buy this standout pair at select Nike and JB stockists starting next Saturday, September 17th.

Author’s Take

If I wasn?t made aware of the theme, it seems just like another generic colorway that was bound to make its way on to the silhouette. It?s a nice pair though nonetheless.

The Air Jordan 1 Reverse Shattered Backboard Might Release Next Month

Air Jordan 1 1 Air Jordan 1

The Air Jordan 1 Shattered Backboard, which was inspired by the jersey that Michael Jordan wore when he shattered the backboard during a 1985 Nike exhibition game in Italy, is reportedly receiving a reverse or alternate variation.

This time, unlike its original counterpart, orange and white will be the predominant tones, while black accents will be applied to further complement its respective theme. Comprised of premium tumbled and smooth leather, the model is outfitted with a white midsole unit and orange outsole.

Resulting into a perfect Halloween pair, this variation is suggested to make its debut sometime in October for a retail price tag of $160.

Stay tuned to KicksOnFire for further updates.

Author’s Take

I still prefer the original pair, but, this rendition is pretty solid as well. This should garner the attention it deserves.

Author’s Take

I like this pair a bit more than the recent release with pony hair due to the model?s overall makeup and colorway. I just like the utilization of various leather detailing and its tonal finish. Like everyone else, I?m just against that price tag.

Were Two Days Away From The Release Of The Air Jordan 12 Black Nylon

jordan 12 2 jordan 12 1 jordan 12

Who’s ready for the release of the Air Jordan 12 Black Nylon? If you are then you’ll only have to wait two more days to get your hands on a pair.

We’ve seen lots of Air Jordan 12s already release this year (with more still on the way), but none of them quite like this pair. This Air Jordan 12 strays away from the traditional leather upper and decides to go with a durable nylon instead. The majority of the shoe is done in Black including the leather overlays. White has been added on the midsole/outsole while a red Jumpman on the tongue provides a nice pop.

Will you cop come September 10th? Retail price for men’s pairs will be $190. Click and bookmark our official Air Jordan 12 Black Nylon (Neoprene) launch page now for more images, info and release details.

Author’s Take

I have no problems with the new material on the upper, I actually think it’s a good thing that Jordan Brand is experimenting with new looks. What I don’t like is the colorway. Did we really another black Air Jordan 12??

Author’s Take

I have no problem with the purple hits on the shoe, but that light blue leather just looks weird to me.

Russell Westbrook Wears The Unreleased Jordan Westbrook 0.2 At The Yeezy Season 4 Show

russell-westbrook_unreleased jordans russell-westbrook-unreleased jordans

Russell Westbrook was in attendance at yesterday Yeezy Season 4 show. Surprisingly, the fashionista kept things simple as he was seen wearing a White tee and a pair of skinny jeans. The footwear though, that’s another story. Westbrook decided to bring out a pair of Jordan that haven’t even released. No, not the Jordan 11 Space Jams, not the Jordan 3 True Blues, Rather, Westbrook decided to wear his very own upcoming signature shoe, the Jordan Westbrook 0.2.

Coming in a Black and Gold colorway, what are your thoughts on Westbrook’s upcoming signature model?

On a side note, don’t you find it kind of weird to see a Jordan/Nike athlete attending a Kanye West event? I guess when it comes to fashion, anything goes for Westbrook? It could have been worse, he could have showed up in a pair of Yeezy’s right? Yikes.

Check Out The Winter-Ready Jordan Future Boot

JORDAN FUTURE BOOT 1 JORDAN FUTURE BOOT 2 JORDAN FUTURE BOOT 3 JORDAN FUTURE BOOT 4

The Jordan Future hasn’t dropped a new colorway for quite some time now. The last time we wrote about the Jordan Brand lifestyle model was close to 1 year ago. Is the Future finished or is it done? While I don’t have the answers for that particular question, I do know what Jordan Brand is planning on releasing the Jordan Future Boot. Yup, a boot version of the Jordan lifestyle sneaker.

Above you will see the two colorways of the Jordan Futre Boot that will release first sometime this Winter. The first pair comes in White/Infrared 23-Black-Pure Platinum, while the second comes in Black/Black-Dark Grey. The uppers appear to use a similar woven construction we’ve seen on the Jordan Future, while the sole unit appears to be almost identical to the Jordan 11. Boot laces and eyelets give the shoe some unique features, while the speckling on the outsoles help give the shoe some pop. Initial thoughts? Let us know in the comments below.

Author’s Take

Not this time Jordan Brand. I hate to be harsh, but I’d be surprised if these don’t end up in the outlets the very next day after they release.

The Air Jordan 12 Black Nylon Is Only A Couple Days Away

FullSizeRender (1) FullSizeRender (2) FullSizeRender IMG_2477 IMG_2479

The endless amount of 2016 Air Jordan 12 releases continue as the Air Jordan 12 Black Nylon is set to drop this weekend! If you’re still on the fence regarding this release, perhaps these brand new images provided by our good friend BobbySolez will make you reconsider.

Although an endless amount of 12s have dropped this year, the construction of this pair is what helps differentiate it from the pack. The upper rocks a Black nylon/neoprene upper that not only changes the aesthetics of the shoe, but also manages to make it waterproof. The all Black nylon upper is than paired up with a bit of tonal leather noted on the mudguard region of the shoe. Breaking up the monochromatic look is the Red found on the Jumpman branding and the White placed on the sole unit. Do these changes in the construction of the shoe make you want to get a pair? The shoe will release on September 10th for $190, you still have a few days to decide. In the mean time make sure you visit our Air Jordan 12 Black Nylon (Neoprene) hub page for all the latest news and information regarding this next Air Jordan release.

Author’s Take

I really appreciate Jordan Brand thinking outside the box and constructing a shoe made out of neoprene. They get an “A’ for effort, I just feel like if they would have switched up the color scheme just a bit, it would help the shoe stand out even more.

Another Classic Sneaker Returns In The Air Jordan 1 Black Toe 2016 (Video)

Last week, we made the argument for the Air Jordan 1 Bred should always be available for sneakerheads to buy without having to worry about selling out. Today, we add another pair of Js to that list in form of the upcoming Air Jordan 1 Black Toe.

It was only a few short years since we last saw the Black Toe and now it’s getting another high profile release later this year. Jordan Brand is really stacking the deck this holiday season between this and the Air Jordan 3 True Blue and the Air Jordan 11 Space Jam. Wouldn’t it be nice if one of them didn’t force you to line up for raffles just to “win” the chance to buy them?

For more information on this release, be sure to bookmark our Air Jordan 1 Black Toe 2016 launch page for more images, videos and links to buy on the day of release.

The Air Jordan 5 GS Raptors Debuts Next Weekend

Air Jordan 5 GS Air Jordan 5 GS 1 Air Jordan 5 GS 2 Air Jordan 5 GS 3

Following a wolf grey-colored pair, the next rendition of the Air Jordan 5 GS will be offered in a Toronto Raptors-inspired theme.

Comprised of nubuck across its upper which is draped in black, the stealthy hue is offset against pops of bright red and purple throughout the rubber sole unit, inner lining and jumpman branding prominent on the tongue, as well as on the heel. Finally, translucent lace locks and outsoles round out the sneaker’s profile.

With retail listed at $140, you can expect to find this pair at JB and Nike retailers starting Saturday, September 17th.

Author’s Take

I like the silhouette overall, but, I’m not too keen for this colorway. If you’re a Raptors fan, this should excite you though.

Russell Westbrook Debuts The Air Jordan 31 Shattered Backboard, And It Has A Release Date!

AIR JORDAN 31 4 AIR JORDAN 31 3 AIR JORDAN 31 2 AIR JORDAN 31 1

The Air Jordan 1 Shattered Backboard just released last year for the first time ever and Jordan Brand is already using it as an inspiration for this upcoming colorway of the Air Jordan 31.

Regarded as one of the most popular colorways of the Air Jordan 1 due to its backstory and use of premium materials, the Air Jordan 1 Shattered Backboard serves as the inspiration for the Air Jordan 31. Russell Westbrook was seen debuting the Air Jordan 31 Shattered Backboard in a photo shoot with GQ Taiwan. The shoe comes in a color combination similar to the Air Jordan 1s as Black and Starfish combine on the Flyweave and leather upper.

These are the only images that are available at the moment but stay tuned to Kicks On Fire for more. The Air Jordan 31 Shattered Backboard is currently scheduled to release on October 1, 2016 for $185.

Author’s Take

The Air Jordan 1 Shattered Backboard is one of the shoes on my “would like to own one day” list because of hoe buttery the shoe is. It’s hard to tell what this colorway of the Air Jordan 31 looks like, but it looks promising. I look forward to seeing more pictures.

Opinion: The Year Of The Air Jordan 12 Is Just Too Much

Note: The following rant was taken from an even longer rant about sneakers, edited for clarity.

So I had this long term goal prior to 2015 of owning every colorway of the Air Jordan 12. I wasn’t going to go after the actual OGs, mind you, because that would be an expensive and non-wearable proposition. I was just going to go after every single colorway (in men’s sizes) that had dropped in stores and right up until the end of last year it seemed like a realistic goal. There might be a few tough pairs to seek out, but what could go wrong, right?

2016 changed all of that when Jordan Brand decided that it was going to be the year of the Air Jordan 12 and they dropped a s**t ton of new Air Jordan 12s with more to come. The constant barrage, whether it was reissues of classics or new colorways in all sizes, has become so much that I can barely keep track of them as exemplified by this weekend’s release of the Air Jordan 12 Black (or is it Neoprene?). After spending $190 (plus tax) on the Air Jordan 12 The Master just a few months ago, I gave up on the dream and chalked it up to the game. Now I know how people who collect other Air Jordans feel. Imagine being the sneakerhead who has to collect every Air Jordan 1. It’s an insane number and even though the Air Jordan 12 is a mere fraction of number of 1s out there and I’m already overwhelmed.

Sneaker Politics
Sneaker Politics

I like to think I have a decent amount of air Jordan 12s. Thanks to this year’s return of the Flu Game 12s, I have all of the OG colorways save for the Cherry colorway along with a several non-OG releases. I still can’t force myself to buy the Gamma 12s because they look like hot garbage, but I think I have to buy eventually them just for completionist purposes. But there was something about seeing the Master 12s and the Black Nylon 12s side-by-side that made me cringe. It’s basically the same colorway with slight changes to the materials. Ok, that’s not totally fair, the new upper on the Black Nylon 12 is a significant tweak for a sneaker that is notorious for not switching it up too often, but it’s still the same color blocking. In essence, Jordan Brand is asking me to pay $400 (plus tax) for almost blackout versions of the Air Jordan 12 without actually giving me the blackout Air Jordan 12 that I have wanted badly for years now. If this eventually leads to an actual blackout Air Jordan 12 dropping this Christmas, I can already picture the appropriate GIF for this.

headbang1

All is not lost, though. Despite my rantings and ravings like a lunatic, I still want to chase as many 12s as possible. I may have lost my mind over the Black Nylon 12s, but I still want to get the limited Wings release even though it’ll probably cost me a down payment to a car and it’s basically just the Air Jordan 12 Playoffs with gold on it. And then there’s the elusive OVO 12s that were supposed to drop in the summer. While I would not consider myself a fan of Drake’s music, I do appreciate his role as a member of Jordan Brand because he has shined a light on this iconic silhouette instead of just focusing the easy picks like the 11s and 1s.

So where does my love of the 12s stem from? I will argue to my dying day did that the Air Jordan 12 Playoffs is the greatest single Air Jordan of all-time. I prefer the 3s as a whole, but among the classics are more than a handful of duds. Prior to this year, the 12’s battering average was above .500; now it’s not so much. There was something simply magical about the Playoff 12s that honestly Jordan Brent has not been able to replicate since. In my many thoughts about the 12s, I tried to justify it in my mind that maybe this is why they keep releasing so many new 12s; it’s because they’re chasing that perfection (of the Playoff 12s) ever since.

Addendum: By the way, I don’t think Jordan Brand should stop releasing new colorways of the Air Jordan 12. This is a business after all and I don’t feel that they owe us anything other than making sure the quality is on point. It’s on us to decide whether or not we want to spend our hard-earned dollars on kicks that look alike. If you want to go ahead and buy the Black Nylon 12s – and I honestly would have if I didn’t already have The Master 12s – go ahead and cop them by all means. Chances are I’ll give in and buy them years down the line anyways…

Jordan Brand Transforms The Air Jordan 11 Into A Boot

The Jordan Future lifestyle silhouette gets completely re-imagined to take on the winter weather ahead with the all-new Future Boot. Barely resembling the original Air Jordan 11-inspired Future model at all other than the mesh upper, the Future Boot goes extra high to protect your feet from inclement weather with a rugged sole to keep you from slipping. You can preview the bold Future Boot in two colorways of Pure Platinum with an Infrared speckled sole and a stealthy all-black edition here, and expect the latest boot from Jordan Brand to hit retailers later this fall.

If you managed to pick up a pair of the Air Jordan 1 Bred online, you’re probably getting your pair through the mail right about now. One lucky (or unlucky depending on your taste) Footaction customer recently got his Air Jordan 1 Bred shipment. Only problem is, Footaction didn’t send him the right shoes, instead he got the Air Jordan 1 Top 3. Yup, word has it that @kev_0594 received a pair of the unreleased Jordans!

My question to you is, would you be happy with this mixup? Would you keep them? Perhaps use them as trade bait? Which pair do you like more, the Air Jordan 1 Bred or the Air Jordan 1 Top 3? The Air Jordan 1 High OG Top 3 is scheduled to release on November 28th for $160.
