The Air Jordan 1 Reverse Shattered Backboard Welcomes October

Following a previous report of an upcoming Air Jordan 1 Reverse Shattered Backboard that will be released to celebrate the recently introduced AJ 31 Shattered Backboard set for October, the purported model has finally received a release date.

Suggested to make its official reveal on October 1st, this reverse edition flaunts a similar color coordination that is evident on the original ?Chicago? release, although, black/orange and white is predominant across its premium tumbled and smooth leather construction.

With adult sizes listed at $160, it’s also reported that GS variations will be offered as well and retail for $120.

I still prefer the original pair, but, this rendition is pretty solid as well. This should garner the attention it deserves.

Author’s Take

I?m biased towards the silhouette and even though it looks somewhat boring, the colorway is a classic. I?m not really into it that much yet, but, I?ll still probably purchase since it?s a simple and clean offering.

Tinker Hatfield Gives Us A Look At The Oregon x Air Jordan Collection

Most of you may know Tinker Hatfield as one of the best sneaker designers of all-time that created silhouettes such as the Air Max 90, Air Jordan 3, and Air Jordan 11 (among many, many others.) But before he worked for Nike, Hatfield was a track and field star for the Oregon Ducks.

Back in 2011, Tinker was helping think up new ways to outfit athletes during travel. Feeling like more could be done than the regular sweatsuits and Oregon-colored inline styles, Tinker shot for the stars and pushed to present the University of Oregon with some exclusive Air Jordans.

“I felt like there was something missing. It wasn?t really that exciting and no one was talking about it. And I felt like there could be this excitement driven by leveraging the history of the Jordan Brand, even though we aren?t talking about a Jordan school, but just the history of the brand and Michael Jordan himself,? Tinker explained as he looked back.

Since then, multiple Air Jordan classics have been given the Oregon Ducks treatment, igniting energy for the program while capturing the attention of collectors everywhere. Take a look at all of Tinker’s Oregon x Air Jordan creations above that include the Air Jordan 9, Air Jordan 3, Air Jordan 4, Air Jordan 5, Air Jordan XX9, Jordan Melo M10, and the Air Jordan 15. Find Out The Inspiration Behind The Air Jordan 31 Fine Print

AIR JORDAN 31 FINE PRINT 10 AIR JORDAN 31 FINE PRINT 1 AIR JORDAN 31 FINE PRINT 6 AIR JORDAN 31 FINE PRINT 7 AIR JORDAN 31 FINE PRINT 9 AIR JORDAN 31 FINE PRINT 3 AIR JORDAN 31 FINE PRINT 8 AIR JORDAN 31 FINE PRINT 5 AIR JORDAN 31 FINE PRINT 2 AIR JORDAN 31 FINE PRINT 4

This upcoming weekend we’ll see the release of a new colorway of the Air Jordan 31 that has been dubbed the Fine Print colorway. The story behind this colorway is actually pretty sweet as Nike has now given us more details behind the inspiration of the shoe.

“Basketball was always more than just a game to Michael Jordan. It was joy. It was pain. It was everything. At times, it was a place of refuge from life?s trials.

In each contract Michael signed, a ?Love of the Game? clause was present. This clause gave him the right to play whenever, wherever and against whomever he pleased ? something Michael considered non-negotiable, even as other athletes were regularly contractually prohibited from extracurricular activities that could lead to injury. Naturally, Michael exercised this privilege often. During early trips to Oregon to meet and collaborate with Nike, he would find the nearest park, seek out pickup games and ?call next.? It didn?t matter if it was Game 7 or a casual run; when Michael played, he played to win.

The Air Jordan XXXI ?Fine Print? is inspired by the ink and paper of the contract and a rendering of Michael?s signature ? as it would have appeared on those contracts ? is evident on the shoe?s sole.”

The Air Jordan 31 Fine Print is scheduled to release on September 17th for $185. Is this a cop for you? Let us know in the comments below.

Author’s Take

Very nice colorway of the Air Jordan 31 and the story behind it is also pretty dope. I’d consider grabbing these if they fall to around $120.

Patent Leather Covers This New Colorway Of The Air Jordan 1 High

An Air Jordan 1 doesn’t have to have Nike Air branding for it to be considered a dope shoe. The proof is in the pudding with this new Black/Grove Green pair that we see above.

This Air Jordan 1 features a full patent leather upper in a combination of Grove Green and Black while White accents on the midsole and the Jumpman “AIR” branding on the tongue add some color contrast to the shoe.

What are your thoughts on this Air Jordan 1? Would you like to see more Air Jordan 1s covered in patent leather like this? Let us know in the comments below and look for this pair to release later this Fall.

Author’s Take

Both the patent leather and the colorway are pretty nice on this Air Jordan 1. Hopefully Jordan Brand releases more colorways with these exact materials.

The Jordan Dub Zero Returns In November

The Jordan Dub Zero is making its way back to retailers on November 9th, 2016 in two brand new colorways including this simple White and Silver upper with splashes of Volt. The Jordan Dub Zero has been one of the more sought after hybrid Jordan models thanks to its appealing Air Jordan 13 and Air Jordan 4 references throughout. While the pair has been on a hiatus since landing on NIKEiD and helping introduce the 30th-anniversary celebration back in 2015, the new pattern on the AJ13 inspired overlay showcases that Jordan Brand is still tinkering with this model. What do you think of the look? Check out more photos after the break and find more of the latest Jordan release dates right here on Sneaker News.

The Air Jordan 1 Retro High OG Reverse Shattered Backboard Releases In October

The Air Jordan 1 “Shattered Backboard” surprised a lot of people when it debuted back in June of 2015 due to its premium quality throughout including a beautiful off-white tumbled leather base. Inspired by an exhibition game in Italy where Michael Jordan actually broke a backboard with one of his high-flying dunks, the colorway was derived from the orange and black uniforms worn back in the summer of 1986. Now a new alternate Air Jordan 1 Reverse Shattered Backboard is slated to release this October.

The original Air Jordan 1 Shattered Backboard more closely resembled the color-blocking of the Black Toe 1s, while this upcoming pair ditches the black panels for more of a “Chicago” vibe. The Starfish orange accent color is back as is the Sail off-white base. But will the quality still be up to par? Check out a full view after the break and stay tuned for an official release date right here on Sneaker News.

Is The OG Black/White Air Jordan 1 Releasing Next Year

Another day, another Air Jordan 1 Retro High OG planned to return to store shelves in the near future. We’ve been treated to the Banned 1s, have the Royal 1s on the horizon, and know that Jordan Brand continues to make the Air Jordan 1 a staple of every seasonal collection from here on out. It’s a shoe that’s as timeless as any retro basketball offering out there, and the last thing we’d want to see is for the Jumpman to put Mike’s original model back in the vault. But is the Air Jordan 1 Black White, a colorway that was released as recently as November 2014, coming back for Spring 2017?

The iconic original Air Jordan 1 Black White colorway’s imminent return was hinted at by Jordan Brand through their latest commercial featuring Kawhi Leonard. Now Twitter user soleheatonfeet has claimed that three rather similar color combinations are all planned for a February 2017 release including what could be the OG Black White colorway. Are you excited about the potential release? Stay tuned for more Jordan release dates right here on Sneaker News.

Patent Leather Returns To The Air Jordan 1 High

We’ve been treated to a number of must-have Air Jordan 1s throughout 2016, but perhaps the most surprising release is the return of the metallic patent leather style found here on this Air Jordan 1 High “Grove Green”. For those of you who don’t remember, the patent leather style of the Air Jordan 1 was a polarizing addition to Mike’s iconic first signature silhouette back in the early aughts with the stand out being the Black/Metallic Gold rendition.

This “Grove Green” pair takes an Oregon-like approach thanks to the combination of a black base and dark Grove Green accents on the Swoosh branding, heel, and toe panels. More interesting is the underlying cracked pattern throughout the green portions for a vintage effect. The traditional ‘Wings’ branding returns on the ankle support while the tongue skips over the classic ‘Nike Air’ for a crisp white Jumpman branding. What do you think of the look? Check out more detailed shots below and grab your pair today from international spots like Size?.

Tinker Hatfield Looks Back On The Entire History Of Air Jordan Oregon PEs

It’s only right that the greatest player in the history of basketball would also have the G.O.A.T. sneaker designer in his camp. So has been the history for Jordan Brand under the tutelage of Tinker Hatfield who designed some of the most iconic Air Jordan signature models. Tinker holds two things near and dear to his heart – Jordan Brand and the University of Oregon. Today Jordan Brand and Tinker look back at the Air Jordan Oregon PE history and talk about some of the most outstanding colorways and the process of combining UO and JB. It all started back in 2011 when Tinker was helping the Ducks think up new ways to outfit their athletes when traveling to their games. What resulted was some of the most sought after exclusive Jordans ever.

“I felt like there was something missing,” Tinker explained about the track suits and travel gear for Oregon athletes. “It wasn?t really that exciting and no one was talking about it. And I felt like there could be this excitement driven by leveraging the history of the Jordan Brand, even though we aren?t talking about a Jordan school, but just the history of the brand and Michael Jordan himself.”

Check out more of these Jordan Oregon PE pairs below and be sure to let us know which exclusive is your favorite by taking your thoughts to the comments section. For more of this story and Tinker’s unique view of the history of the “Oregon” Jordan PE, be sure to head over to Nike SNKRS.
