The Air Jordan 16 Midnight Navy Returns Next Month

Air Jordan 16 Midnight Navy

Next month we’ll see Jordan Brand release another colorway of the Air Jordan 16. After dropping the extremely limited Trophy Room pair last weekend, next up is a pair that OG enthusiasts will appreciate.

Today we give you the first official look of the Air Jordan 16 Midnight Navy which will be making its first retro appearance since its original debut back in 1999. This OG colorway of the Air Jordan 16 comes covered in a white tumbled leather upper and a removable shroud which is one of the most recognizable features of this silhouette. Midnight Navy then appears on the patent leather toe, heel, mesh underlay, and tongue.

In case you weren’t aware, this sneaker will retail for a premium price tag of $250 and will release on December 22nd. Make sure to click and visit our Air Jordan 16 Midnight Navy hub page for all the latest images and info regarding this upcoming release.

Author’s Take

$250 for this shoe? It’s a clean colorway of the 16s, but I don’t think it’s worth this much money and I don’t think many people will be willing to pay this price either. It’s only a matter of time until they get marked down.

Jordan Brand Made A Camo Colorway Of The Air Jordan 16 For Veterans Day

Air Jordan 16 1 Air Jordan 16 2

Playing in the NBA has its perks, and playing for the team that is owned by Michael Jordan has even more perks, atleast when it comes to sneakers.

With Veteran’s Day taking place this week, NBA players around the league have been wearing special military-themed sneakers. Last night Frank Kaminsky of the Charlotte Hornets was spotted wearing a camo colorway of the Air Jordan 16 as the Hornets faced off against the Utah Jazz. Seen above, the special edition colorway features green suede accents with camo detailing on the side panels and gold accents on the branding and laces.

Would you like to see this Veteran’s Day colorway of the Air Jordan 16 release? It’s very unlikely, but keep it locked to Kicks On Fire for updates.

Author’s Take

It’s not every day we see camo placed on an Air Jordan sneaker, so it’s cool to see something different. These are pretty clean.

Our First Official Look At The Air Jordan 31 Space Jam

Air Jordan 31 Space Jam

The Air Jordan 31 will continue to release in more impressive colorways to close out the year as we’re expected to see a premium suede and leather pair release on Black Friday.

Also releasing next month will be a Space Jam colorway of the Air Jordan 31. With the Air Jordan 11 set to comeback next month, it was a no-brainer for Jordan Brand to give the 31 with the Space Jam treatment. Today we get our first official look at the shoe which features a dark grey and black Flyweave upper that transitions to a black patent leather on the heel/ankle. Next we see a Concord Jumpman by the ankle along with a white midsole and icy translucent outsole.

Who plans on picking up a pair? At the moment the Air Jordan 31 Space Jam is scheduled to release on December 3rd for $185. Stay tuned to Kicks On Fire for more images and updates.

Author’s Take

I like it. Jordan Brand continues to release very clean colorways of the 31. I hope people sleep on them and I can get them for below retail down the line.

Top High-School Basketball Prospect Announces College Commitment With Custom Jordans

For the nation’s best high-school sports prospects, one of the most memorable moments in the evolution of a pro career is the announcement of college commitment. Five-star prospect Nick Richards of Patrick School in New Jersey just committed to the University of Kentucky with the help of a pair of customs Air Jordans, which feature the Wildcats logos, the NCAA logo and the word “CHAMP” spelled out on the ankle (all the customizer needed to add was the “MP”).

ESPN ranks Richards 12th overall in the class of 2017, and given Kentucky’s penchant for producing all-pro big-man talent in the NBA, you might be hearing more from Richards pretty soon.

These Air Jordan 9s Are Now Being Known As The Space Jams

Air Jordan 9 1 Air Jordan 9 2

Jordan Brand is capitalizing on the the return of the Air Jordan 11 Space Jam by adding a few more sneakers to the collection. Also included in the Space Jam collection will be an Air Jordan 31 and this OG colorway of the Air Jordan 9.

This isn’t the first time that we’ll see the release of this Air Jordan 9 as we’ve seen it release a handful of times since making its debut back in 1994. If you’ve watched Space Jam before then you know that Michael Jordan did actually wear these in the movie (see image above), so the nickname does make sense. It’s just weird to see Jordan Brand wait this long to call it that. I guess it’s all abut the marketing.

The newly named Air Jordan 9 Space Jam is scheduled to release on December 3, 2016 for $190.

The Air Jordan 13 What Is Love Wont Be An Easy Cop (Video)

Air Jordan 13 13 Air Jordan 13 7 Air Jordan 13 5 Air Jordan 13 11 Air Jordan 13 Air Jordan 13 8

We all know what “What Is Love?” means in sneaker circles. It’s a callback to an iconic set of commercials in the early 2000s that ran through the history of Michael Jordan and in many ways, Jordan Brand. It was a fitting final campaign that said goodbye to Jordan’s playing days. If you saw this back when it first aired and didn’t get a chill down your spine, you’re not human. So when we see that the Air Jordan 13 is coming back in what is being called a “What Is Love?” pack, there’s a reason to get hyped.

But what about those who are dead inside or are not basketball fans as much as they are just fans of the sneakers and hype (we all know they exist)? To them, when they hear that Jordan Brand is dropping an Air Jordan “What Is Love?” pack they might think of something else. Something a little more goofy that includes Will Ferrell and a 90s dance song…

An Asia-exclusive release that celebrate Chinese Singles’ Day, the Air Jordan 13 What Is Love pack will feature both a men’s and women’s release this weekend. No word on whether we will see Ferrell or Chris Kattan in a video bopping their heads to the song while wearing these.

The Air Jordan 13 What Is Love Pack is dropping this weekend. Stay tuned to the launch page for all latest information as it breaks.

I?m all tonal finishes and I?m a fan of this sneaker in general. The build is solid as well and this should get some attention. I?m not that inclined on purchasing though.

Will You Be Picking Up The Air Jordan 12 Deep Royal Blue This Weekend

Air Jordan 12 1 Air Jordan 12 2 Air Jordan 12 3

Arriving at retailers this weekend is another new buttery colorway of the Air Jordan 12, which has undoubtedly been the most popular Jordan Brand silhouette of 2016.

This time around the 12 gets covered in a completely tonal look as a rich Deep Royal Blue can be seen on the suede upper, inner liner, laces, midsole, and even the outsole. The only hits of contrast come with the branding on the tongue and heel. We’ve seen lots of different pictures and the shade of blue looks different in a lot of them. In these images by City Blue Shop the blue upper looks rich and vibrant, which I’m assuming is what most people hope they look like in person.

You can get your hands on these blue suede 12s beginning on November 12th for a retail price of $190. They will also be available in full family sizing for those of you that were wondering.

I?m a fan of this shade of blue, but this shoe just has too much of it. I?ll have to pass on these.

The Moment When You See Jordan Retros On Clearance And People Still Arent Biting

It’s been years since I’ve seen a Jordan retro at a Nike outlet store. Ok, that’s not true; we’ve all seen the occasional retro hit the wall whether because they were a online return or a handful of B-grades or even the occasional surprise like the original surprise drop of the Air Jordan 1 Banned (with the “X”). Seeing a retro of some regard is uncommon, but far from inconceivable.

Usually it is the less popular colorways that make it to the outlet stores and even then the prices aren’t outlet friendly. Sometimes they knock off $10-$20 from the retail price, so when you see something like the Air Jordan 7 Nothing But Net, the price difference is barely enough to justify copping them. Speaking of that pair, that was really the last time I saw a non-Air Jordan 1 retro get prominent shelf time. Until this past weekend when I saw the Air Jordan 10 Charlotte go for $119.99, a whopping $70 off the MSRP of $190. And to top it off I even had a coupon that would have knocked off an additional 30%.

So after years of hoping we would see the price of retros come down either by Nike’s volition or through the inability to sell them at full price, I could finally buy a retro for less than $100 even after taxes. Did buy it? Nope. And judging from the stacks that were still on shelves, not a lot of people were biting either.

IMG_0974 FullSizeRender

If you had told me back in during the height of retro craziness – which would be around the 2010-2013 range – that high quality (relatively speaking) Air Jordan 10 in the popular Charlotte Hornets colors would sit on shelves and eventually hit outlet stores for $119.99 and languish, I would have called you crazy, but also I would have itching at the prospect of buying those kicks at near impulse buy levels. It’s funny what perspective, reality and “the culture” moving on to other brands and trends will do to your enthusiasm. I might still come back to that store and buy them eventually, but it’s more for intellectual purposes than an overall desire to buy.

The Air Jordan 12 Deep Royal Blue is releasing in just a couple of more days, as it follows up on previous wool and nylon iterations of the silhouette this season.

Elevated with more lifestyle appeal, the basketball sneaker is comprised of smooth suede and textured leather, while tonal eyelets, laces and Jumpman-branded panels adorn the side to further define its aesthetic. Furthermore, slight pops of white and grey adorn the heel and tongue section via branding to complement its design.

Author’s Take

I’ve already seen the J23 in a few different colorways and I can say with confidence that I’m not a fan of the shoe. These are a pass for me.

Jordan Brand doesn’t only make retros, they also make sneakers that are designed specifically for the hardwood. One of the latest JB basketball kicks to hit the market is the Jordan Extra.Fly.

Sort of reminds me of a Chris Paul signature shoe. I don’t really wears Jordans to hoop in so I’ll pass on these.

The newly-introduced Jordan Westbrook 0.2 is rendered in a stylish hue of light bone for one its inaugural colorways this Fall/Winter 2016.

Russell Westbrook?s latest signature shoe essentially exudes lifestyle appeal, as the defining theme simply covers its entire composition. Comprised of premium suede and leather overlays, the sneaker is topped off with a matching full-length rubber sole unit, while it’s further detailed with Russell?s ?Why Not?? slogan evidenced on the inner tongue lining.

Look for this creamy pair at select Jordan Brand and Nike retailers overseas now for $140, while its stateside release is imminent.

Author’s Take

Even though it looks like Saint Laurent knock-offs, I still like the simplistic design. This colorway is pretty appealing in general as well and it?s a stylish option.

The Air Jordan 9 Kobe Releases Next Weekend

It was a colorway of the Air Jordan 9 that once was only created for Kobe Bryant, but now you can wear a pair, too. Although it was one of the PE Air Jordans designed for Kobe Bryant during his epic year of sneaker free agency in the 2002-03 NBA season, they never actually made it to the court for whatever reason. Now they’ll be appearing everywhere, as Jordan Brand has decided to drop the once-rare colorway in a Lakers color scheme of white leather with purple patent leather and yellow accents (these do replace Kobe’s #8 on the heel’s with the normal #23, however). Lakers and Kobe fans won’t have to wait much longer for the first-ever release of the shoe, as they hit Jordan Brand retailers next Saturday, November 19th. These are also releasing early at the new Nike SOHO store in NYC this week.
