Jordan Brand Gets Us Ready For Upcoming Air Jordan 13 Releases With New Slides

In 2017 we’ll see the return of the Air Jordan 13 in a handful of colorways that include the OG Chicago pair and a new Black Cat rendition.

In order to get us ready for the upcoming retro releases, Jordan Brand has just released a couple of pairs of new slides that match up perfectly with the sneakers. Granted right now isn’t the best time for slides, but you can buy both the Chicago and Black Cat Hydros now and store them away until the Spring/Summer when the sneakers drop.

Both pairs are available now at select Jordan Brand retailers for $58. Are you more excited about the Black Cat or Chicago 13s?

NBA 2K17 Kicks: The Air Jordan 6 Black Cat Vs. How It Should Look

The Jordan Brand calendar ends on December 31st with the drop of the Air Jordan 6 Black Cat (JB is just calling it Black from the looks of things). Originally believed to just be an all-black take on the classic silhouette, the actual release is a little bit different than that. Perforated upper, reflective elements, dark blue translucent outsole, white accents all change the look up so much that many are having a hard time toning down their expectations. What looked like it should have been a slam dunk release to end the year is now a sad whimper that’s not unlike a cat expressing their displeasure. Batman would not be pleased, to say the least.

Here’s a look at the Air Jordan 6 Black Cat remade in the NBA 2K17. Obviously putting perforations on the upper and adding reflective accents was never going to happen, but the most glaring difference is the midsole speckle that is spread throughout the bottom. If you change the color of the speckle to white, it messes up one part and vice versa. My guess is most people would prefer a Black Cat 6 without the perforations.

Now just for fun – and wishful thinking – here’s the Black Cat 6 that I’m guessing most people would have preferred made it to stores. All Black Everything, just like Batman.

Kawhi Leonard Wears All-Gold Air Jordan 11s On Christmas Day

After defeating the Chicago Bulls on Christmas Day 119-100, Kawhi Leonard of the San Antonio Spurs was spotted wearing some pretty crazy Air Jordans.

“The Claw” is seen in the picture above wearing a gold pair of Air Jordan 11s that has been completely covered in gold all throughout the upper, including the patent leather, laces, and even the branding. The only contrast comes with a white midsole and icy blue translucent outsole.

Do you like these 11s better than the all-gold Air Jordan 12s that Kawhi was spotted with earlier this Summer?

The Air Jordan 13 Slides Are Back

This past Christmas weekend was a huge time for the Air Jordan 13 retro as Jordan Brand announced their annual Christmas Day PE Collection as inspired by the Air Jordan 13 OG “True Red”. The Jumpman also announced that that exact pair featuring the iconic holographic panther eye branding would be returning to retailers in remastered form on February 18th, 2017. But just in case you can’t get enough of Michael Jordan’s black cat inspired signature model, Jordan Brand just released two new colorways of the Air Jordan 13 Hydro Slides in an all-black-everything aesthetic and that coveted True Red look.

The bolstered Air Jordan 13 Hydro Slides feature that circular holographic branding on the side, a tumbled leather upper with circular stitching to mirror the Air Jordan 13 retro, and a comfortable beaded footbed to help massage your feet whether on the beach or after an on-court workout. Check out both colorways below and know that you can purchase your favorite colorway via Politics for $58 USD.

Kawhi Leonard Breaks Out Gold Air Jordan 11 PE

Kawhi Leonard might have rocked the Air Jordan 31 on Christmas Day, but the real show stopper was what the San Antonio Spurs All-Star wore during his time off the court. It’s no secret that Jordan Brand has been more experimental with the Air Jordan 11 lately with the return of ’45’ PE branding on the Space Jam 11s and new material constructions like the Suede Jordan 11s and the grade school Red Velvet Jordan 11s. But could we potentially see an all metallic Air Jordan 11 Gold in the future? Reporter Jabari Young was lucky enough to snap an on-foot photo of this exclusive pair on Christmas Day and the results are rather hypnotizing. What do you think of Kawhi’s Air Jordan 11 Gold PE? Check out a full view below and head over to our Air Jordan Release Dates page for a better look at what Jordan Brand has in store for the new year.

Air Jordan 5 Flight Jacket Sample In White Surfaces

Last week, Jordan Brand officially unveiled the Jordan Flight Jack Collection which features a reconstructed Air Jordan 5 Retro in olive and tan tones. It appears that a white leather version of that shoe has surfaced, although it is unclear if this alternate version will ever come to release. It features the same premium leather upper with tan hits on the tongue and midsole, but the laser-cut “netting” on the upper is a completely different pattern from the olive pair. What do you think about this colorway? Stay tuned for updates.
