The Newest adidas NMD City Sock Primeknit Is Revealed
By SoleInsider
adidas Originals has found its groove thanks to the advancements found in Boost and Primeknit. The latest silhouette to combine the winning formula is the adidas NMD City Sock, a casual lifestyle wear that utilizes the technology usually found in the three stripe’s most successful running models for a unique sock-like midtop with a seamless one-piece construction atop a full-length Boost outsole unit. We’ve seen a number of colorways available in European markets and this subtle white grey rendition should be the perfect fit for summer. International spots like Naked will be stocking this pair come July 8th. Check out a better view below and stay updated on the latest release dates right here on Sneaker News.
One Year Later: The adidas Yeezy Boost 350 Turtle Dove Transcends
By SoleInsider
On June 27, 2015, the adidas Yeezy Boost 350 Turtle Dove launched. In the time since, the following people have asked me if I can get adidas to hook them up with a pair, probably because they think “sneaker blogging” is synonymous with “sneaker connect” or something like that:
My cousin who loves Kim Kardashian and thinks Kanye is cute
My aunt who only sees Kanye on Keeping Up With The Kardashians
Countless friends who have significant others that “love tennis shoes”
My dad (he just wants to troll)
My mom (she tried on my pair and loved it)
People on Twitter and Instagram who know me as KicksOnFire EIC
D-List celebrities
People who work for other brands
I’ve had people ask me for Yeezys of all kinds for years. It’s not all that surprising to get an email, DM or text every few days from somebody I haven’t heard from in a while asking when either the next pair is dropping or if I can get them on a seeding list despite not having any sort of influence or notoriety. In some small way, it’s cool that other people think you’re in the kind of position that allows them the chance to get Yeezys – even if that’s far from the truth – but one thing I’m sure of is that this was not the case when Kanye was at Nike.
The adidas Yeezy 350 Boost is different from Nike Air Yeezys and even the adidas Yeezy 750 Boost. Yes, their arrivals were hyped to the moon and any sneakerhead would love to own them either to have for bragging rights or to resell down the line. The random non-sneakerhead might ask about the Nike Yeezys or the 750, but it was more of a passing curiosity than actual interest. But it wasn’t just sneakerheads pining for a pair of the 350 Turtle Doves and every pair since, it was the blue ocean.
The Nike Air Yeezys had a fashion tilt to them to be sure, but they were unabashedly a Nike product and that comes with all the “athlete” connotations that go with it. The adidas Yeezy 750 might be popular as hell, but they’re not the most versatile shoes in anybody’s collection. Those products were targeted to very specific audiences who ate up whatever limited pairs that were available. They weren’t for everybody.
The joke is that adidas Yeezy Boost 350 are adidas Roshes, but therein lies the appeal. They might be afterthoughts now, but the Nike Roshe Run/One was a breakout hit for the swoosh because of their simple look, comfortable feel and budget-conscious price. If you can find them, the inviting Primeknit upper, the loose fit and the comfortable Boost cushioning made the Yeezy Boost 350 was “cool” in a way the Roshe never was. They’re certainly not “dad shoes” like what the Under Armour Curry Two Chef became. The Turtle Dove was perfect for the summer (releasing them in June probably wasn’t a coincidence), but they could also be worn in the fall, summer and spring (the other 350 colorways like the Pirate Black and Moonrock were equally versatile). The lack of obvious adidas or Yeezy branding also contributed to the shoe’s appeal especially to those who loathe the habit of repping brands. A sneakerhead might not think twice about wearing Nike or adidas from head to toe and looking like a giant billboard, but most people aren’t like that.
Sadly, not everybody can get a pair of Yeezy 350s, but everybody can pull off wearing a pair of Yeezy 350s. And those that couldn’t buy the 350s ended buying Ultra Boosts, NMDs and even the recent AlphaBOUNCE Motion Capture colorway that had more than one person asking me if those were the “new Yeezys”. The Yeezy 350 transcended and made people pay notice to other things adidas had to offer that were similar and arguably better. Maybe the Ultra Boost and the NMD were going to be crossover hits regardless of whether or not Kanye wore them, but the combo of Primeknit and Boost was popularized by the Yeezy 350 did more to attract than detract.
Kanye gifting Yeezys to some old guy…
The future of the Yeezy Boost 350 is brighter than anything else Kanye and adidas has coming down the line. At some point, they have to become general release kicks like most Jordan retros and sit on stores for anybody who wants to buy them. It’s bound to happen as long as Kanye doesn’t go full Kanye and burns bridges like he did at Nike. As we all know, Kanye wants to be the guy that shocks and awes like he when he dropped the visuals music video (I’m old, dammit, it’s music video) for “Famous” but he also wants to get to Ralph level and all that entails, including outlet stores at Ontario Mills. One way to do that is make his most transcendent shoe available to everybody. Because you know, it’s nice to want things…
adidas Pays Tribute To The Gazelle With A Remember the Future Campaign featuring Kate Moss
By SoleInsider
First introduced in the 1960s, adidas is celebrating the re-launch of its iconic Gazelle silhouette with a global collaboration featuring artist, Doug Abraham, better known as @bessnyc4, as well as iconic British supermodel — Kate Moss.
Using a vintage photograph from 1993 of Moss wearing the sneaker, Abraham?s new era creative medium reinvents a new visual commentary which encompasses the re-appropriation of fashion, while the sneaker’s timeless look exemplifies its legacy.
?Collective memory provides us with the inspiration to create our future?, says Nic Galway, VP of Global Design, adidas Originals. ?With the re-launch of Gazelle, we looked to the original cultural references that defined the authenticity of the style. Kate Moss has always had a connection to the adidas Originals brand and her affection for Gazelle during the ?90s is a testament to the ways the silhouette has been adopted into style and pop culture.?
Additional detailed imagery of the newly adidas Y-3 Noci 0003 is showcased, as it’s the latest creation from Yohji Yamamoto and the German sportswear label’s premier Y-3 line.
Based on a concept of a rugged space hiker, the silhouette is defined by its extended ankle support and futuristic sensibilities. Breathable air mesh combined with soft leather comprises its construction, while foot protection is given through moulded TPU welds in the heel and toe area. Furthermore, closure options with a minimal lacing and zip fastening system offers superb lockdown and support.
All resting atop a futuristic take of the sole unit in contrasting white with red accents, you can find this pair at select adidas Y-3 stockists now for a price tag of $420.

The adidas NMD R1 Primeknit Will Feature More Patterns Soon
By SoleInsider
Arguably the most coveted sneaker of 2016 will get a swift upgrade based on this preview image of upcoming drops for Fall/Winter 2016. The adidas NMD R1 Primeknit, which has been predominantly released in tonal and stitch camo colorways, will take on different patterns of Primeknit uppers with different colored NMD blocks on the midsole. So far, the only confirmed adidas NMD R1 PK releases are the all-white “OG” flip for mid July and the NMD restock, so these previewed colorways could be what you should expect next. Stay tuned for updates.
Last week former NBA MVP Derrick Rose was traded by the team who drafted him and was sent to the Big Apple to play for the new York Knicks. The last few years of Rose’s career have been filled with injury after injury which resulted in him missing lots of time and him also losing some explosiveness.
Now part of a struggling New York Knicsk team, Phil Jackson and the entire state of New York are hoping and praying that Rose can team up with Melo, Porzingis and maybe one other big name player to lead the Knicks back to the playoffs. Considered as a fresh start for D Rose, he’ll be wearing a new sneaker come next season with the adidas D Rose 7. Up above we take a look at three upcoming colorways that will be arriving at retailers later this year. The D Rose 7 will feature full-length Boost cushioning along with a Primeknit upper.
Take a look at all three color options above and let us know your thoughts (so far) on the D Rose 7. Stay tuned to Kicks On Fire for more.
I’ve never considered actually buying an adidas D Rose sneaker, but the fact that this new D Rose 7 has Boost technology and a Primeknit upper is definitely a plus.
The Air Jordan 8 Championship Celebration Pack Completes The First Trifecta
The new colorways of the adidas Gazelle continue to roll in as we now take a look at the latest pair which will most likely be one of the most popular.
Draped in a lush red suede all throughout the upper, this Gazelle is then contrasted beautifully by white leather detailing on the three stripes branding and heel tab. Additional white accents have then been added on the tongue, inner liner and rubber sole unit to keep things two-toned. Red laces and metallic gold “Gazelle” branding finish off the look on this fire colorway that can be purchased now at select retailers for $80.
The adidas Originals Gazelle is ready to make a splash this Summer as it has just released in a plethora of new colorways in what’s being known as the Sport Pack.
Presented above is the Lime colorway which comes dressed in a beautiful yellow suede all throughout the upper with contrasting hits of white leather on the three stripes branding and the heel tab. Finishing off the clean and simple look are yellow laces, metallic gold detailing on the Gazelle branding, and white on the tongue, inner liner and rubber sole unit.
Get fresh this Summer and pick up this adidas Gazelle at select adidas retailers now for $80.
Previously offered in vapour green, the women’s variation of the adidas Originals Hamburg returns in another appealing colorway for the season, this time consisting of vapour pink.
Comprised of premium suede across its upper which is rendered in the defining tone, off-white leather accents adorn the heel tab and signature three-stripe motif across its side panels to complement the palette.
All adhered atop a verastile gum sole unit to cap off the simple, yet aesthetically pleasing makeup, touches of gold adorn the quarter panels to finish it off.
You can purchase this pair at select adidas stores overseas now.
I?m all for simplicity and I?m a fan of the silhouette. I like the colorway overall and that gum tooling really makes it more appealing. This is a nice stylish option for the ladies.
Is The adidas NMD OG White The Must-Have Release Of The Summer?

All resting atop a crisp, white sole unit, expect to find this pair at select adidas retailers soon. Stay tuned to KicksOnFire for updates.

The adidas Ultra Boost Multi-color Honors The Olympics
By SoleInsider
The adidas Ultra Boost has shifted gears to the Uncaged realm, but it’s always great to see new colorways of the instantly classic running model surface. This “Multi-Color” release is slated to hit store shelves later this summer with a nod toward the Olympics. We’ve seen the coveted rainbow-like pattern on the Ultra Boost before in the form of the Chinese New Year celebration, but here an adidas Performance logo meshes well with the red heel construction. What do you think of this pair? Check out a better view below and stay tuned for a release date in the near future.
The adidas Ultra Boost Uncaged redefined the original thanks to ditching the supportive cage overlay and three stripe branding for a lightweight lifestyle approach. The knit sock-like fit continues to be the go-to for most brands looking for a change of pace for their running silhouettes, and adidas has been leading the pack with the success of the NMD, Tubular, and Ultra Boost. A summer-ready teal shade is the latest look to land on the Ultra Boost Uncaged with a seafoam green base speckled by light grey and off-white throughout. What do you think of the look? Stay tuned for more updates right here on Sneaker News and expect this pair to arrive later this summer.
