Following the release of the Nike KD 9 in its inaugural colorway, Kevin Durant’s newest signature basketball sneaker is set to be offered in a more vibrant iteration this season.

Defined by its flyknit composition, a mixture of bright hues such as yellow, green, orange and red adorn the chainlink structured upper, which is juxtaposed against a black base. Additional vibrance is provided by neon accents gracing the Swoosh, tongue tab and frontal portion of the outsole, while bright pink covers the remainder of the translucent sole unit.

It’s still strange to think that the next NBA season will start in a few months without Kobe Bryant. Nike Basketball isn’t moving on from the Black Mamba anytime soon and it will be interesting to see how the brand transforms his imprint post-retirement in the years to come. The Nike Kobe 11 is still putting in work this summer, and the latest colorway references one of Kobe Bean’s All-Star shoes from the past with this 3D graphic upper. The Nike Kobe 6 featured a rather similar print complete with alternating Swoosh colors of Gamma Blue and Team Red. Here the jarring detail couldn’t work better on the Kobe 11. Kevin Durant‘s busy off-season won’t just be defined by his free-agency as the success of the upcoming KD 9 is imminent.
