Nike KD 8 Uptempo
By SoleInsider
Kevin Durant has a busy off-season ahead of him. And while we doubt this will be “The Decision” 2.0, we’re excited to see if Durant decides to re-up with the Thunder after being just one game away from returning to the NBA Finals or chooses to a different route. Nike Basketball is staying busy by showcasing a number of upcoming Nike KD 9 renditions complete with that awesome Flyknit construction with a significant price-cut to $150. While we wait for his latest signature to release, we’ll be getting a few more Nike KD 8 colorways like this “Uptempo” variety. The pair sports a clean white base with Metallic Silver accents, most notably found on the mirror-like bolstered Swoosh branding, while a gradient midsole sees a streak of Game Royal liven things up. Stay tuned for a release date in the near future and let us know if you’re a fan of what could be the last retail KD 8 release by taking your thoughts to our comments section.
The New Nike Free Train Connect In Volt Is Now Available
By SoleInsider
The new Nike Free Train Connect in volt is showcased in a more detailed look, as the trainer is essentially inclined for women.
Featuring an engineered, one-piece mesh upper, the silhouette flaunts a slip-on design which hugs your foot for a locked-in fit, via asymmetrical straps across the component. Responsive auxetic technology expands and contracts with every move, delivering flexible stability while the zonal traction pattern provides grip for dynamic training movements.
Retailing for $100, you can purchase this new model at select Nike retailers as well as its online shop now.
While its EXT Floral iteration consisted as its most notable release recently, the Nike KD 8 is scheduled to receive another colorway this season, as we’ve already begun seeing variations of his upcoming ninth signature sneaker.
With this pair dubbed, “Uptempo,” the basketball silhouette inherits a clean white upper with accents of grey streaks prominent on the toe box. Bold touches of blue are prominent on the tongue and sole unit to pronounce its pristine profile, which is also furnished in a faded effect for more distinct flair.
Rounded out with metallic silver Swooshes and black laces, stay tuned for an official release date.
Following a detailed look, the Nike LeBron 13 Low USA has unexpectedly arrived at retailers starting today — most notably, Finish Line.
As its moniker suggests, the basketball sneaker is a tribute to the upcoming Summer 2016 Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Flaunting a patriotic-esque palette, navy is dominant across its mesh upper, while tonal white graces the midsole unit and forefoot Swooshes, in addition to more accents on the upper.
The theme is perfectly encapsulated with bright crimson adorning the heel unit, portions of the tongue, rear and insoles.
Retailing for $150, you can purchase a pair at select Nike retailers nationwide now, such as Finish Line.
I haven?t purchased a pair but I?m a fan of the model in this cut. The theme is cool but it would?ve been better with bolder red accents instead of bright crimson.

Will Ben Simmons Begin Where LeBron James Ends At Nike
By SoleInsider
Nike Basketball looks old. LeBron James is 13 signature shoes in and by next season, it will be 14 for the brand’s biggest asset. With Kobe Bryant now retired and busting ghosts, Kevin Durant contemplating whether to leave the only NBA home he’s ever known (not to mention his KD 8s languishing in stores) and Kyrie Irving still in the stage of his journey where we wonder if there will be a Kyrie 3 or a Kyrie 4 and beyond, the question is what’s next for the swoosh? We got our answer yesterday in the form of Ben Simmons, as he announced his signing with the brand. Reportedly it is one of the largest rookie deals Nike has ever done. Not bad for one of the most talented and hyped prospects to come out in a long time, especially since he couldn’t even lead his LSU Tigers to an NCAA Tournament appearance. Uh…
Curiously, Simmons broke the news via LeBron’s media platform Uninterrupted. It’s no secret that Simmons is a client of Klutch Sports, the same agency that represents LeBron and is owned by LeBron’s friend Rich Paul. It’s also not a surprise that Simmons and James keep tabs on each other and have maintained a friendship since the kid broke out became a big name. And it’s pretty obvious that everything LeBron does on and off the court is dissected and calculated to the most minute detail, even if it doesn’t work out (see: NBA Finals record).
Wait, did LeBron just handpick his successor at Nike? Because that would be the most baller move he’s done in a while. Well, the most recent baller move since Maverick Carter pointed a finger in the sky and caused a media s**tstorm.

But why Simmons and why now? Could it be that LeBron sees Simmons less as a future rival and more of a student he can mentor and show the ropes and eventually turn into “his guy” that he won’t have to worry about? Is LeBron James playing the Triple H role and Simmons is NXT? Did I just make another pro wrestling reference?
In 2008, before LeBron won his first of many NBA MVP awards, he made a pair of trips to watch a young Stephen Curry light it up for Davidson. It made headlines because there was a buzz behind Curry during that time that is a microcosm of the mania we see today and having LeBron around only grew the legend.
In hindsight, the biggest takeaway from that was LeBron saw something in Curry. But back then, LeBron hadn’t yet made The Decision, won and lost in the NBA Finals, built and destroyed super teams. He had a premonition with Steph, but didn’t have accomplishments and the experiences to act on it. It’s a different time now.

We might never see a “LeBron Brand” like we have a Jordan Brand right now, but with so many guys wearing signature LeBrons and takedown Soldiers in the NBA, it might not even matter. And hypothetically, now he has his own “Chosen One” to carry the load into the next generation. By the time we see a Simmons signature shoe, it will be a full teenager younger than the latest LeBron shoe. It might have LeBron influences in the same way that the Carmelo Anthony’s first Jordan signature shoe, the Melo 1.5, was inspired by the Air Jordan 1. Simmons could star in commercials similar in tone to James’ early work, which is to say they will be brash and confident and funny. I just hope Simmons can make it through the Chamber of Fear and wear new colorways of the Nike Zoom Generation though…
The Stealthy Nike Zoom All Out Flyknit In Triple Black
By SoleInsider
Recently showcased in grey/black, racer blue and bright crimson, the Nike Zoom All Out Flyknit is introduced in another colorway for the season, this time sporting the classic and versatile triple black finish.
Essentially covering its entire mid-top Flyknit construction, the sneaker is detailed with reflective Swooshes across its side panels to subtly pronounce its understated profile, while the distinctive full-length zoom sole unit is rendered in volt for a contrasting touch.
If you’re interested in a pair, you can find it at Nike retailers very soon for a price tag of $200.
I like the silhouette overall and it’s pretty likable in this colorway as well. The volt-colored tooling is a nice finish and this is another solid offering.

Nike Drops A Brand New LeBron 13 Elite Squadron Blue
By SoleInsider
Will LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers bounce back from two lopsided defeats in the Bay Area to edge closer to making this year’s NBA Finals competitive? We sure hope so. LeBron’s been lacing up his understated Nike LeBron 13 Elite throughout the playoffs this year, and Nike just hit us with a surprise release of the “Squadron Blue” colorway, one that’s very similar to the pair you could find on LeBron’s feet during Game 2 (just without metallic gold Finals inspired Swoosh branding). Foot Locker is stocking this pair throughout the U.S. so head over to their Launch Locator to see if a shop near you is stocking this pair today.
Following our first look at the Nike LeBron 13 Low Olympic, additional views of the special edition basketball sneaker is presented, as the model is set to honor the forthcoming Summer 2016 games in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil this August.
Essentially dressed in a USA-inspired color scheme, white is dominant across its breathable mesh upper, while red is applied on the large Swoosh branding, followed by navy gracing the inner lining to encapsulate the theme. Metallic Gold accents are seen on the “LJ” logo on the tongue and heel unit to predict Team USA’s first place finish, as the midsole fades to black on the frontal portion.
The model is expected to debut at Nike accounts sometime in the coming weeks, but stay tuned for an official release date.
Look For The 2016 Nike Air Force 180 Olympic This Summer
By SoleInsider
The 2016 variation of the Nike Air Force 180 Olympic will be making its debut this summer, as the silhouette is noted as Charles Barkley’s pair that he wore during the 1992 Dream Team at Barcelona, Spain and the 1996 Olympics in Atlanta, Georgia.
Last issued in 2012, the sneaker will commemorate Team USA once again, during this year’s Summer games in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Essentially maintaining its iconic design and colorway intact, the basketball sneaker is comprised of a mixture of leather and nubuck in dominating tones of white and obsidian, followed by accents of red and gold directed at the heel and tongue.
You can find this pair at select Nike accounts starting July 7th.
Charles Barkleys Nike Air Force 180 Dream Team Is Releasing
By SoleInsider
The 1992 Olympics were known for some of the most iconic sneakers in basketball history. Perhaps the most recognizable is the Air Force 180 worn by Charles Barkley, a prominent member of that record-breaking squad. This Olympic-themed colorway has re-released several times over, with the most recent being in 2012 for the 20th Anniversary of the Dream Team, but it looks like Nike is re-living the moment once again thanks a July 7th release. Check out official images of the shoes below and stay tuned for more Olympic-themed sneakers to release beginning in July.
Last seen in various blues, another colorway of the Nike Air Max 95 is highlighted this season, as it flaunts a timeless hue of all-white.
Composed of its traditional leather, mesh and synthetic composition, the pristine tone essentially drapes the composition, while subtle Grey detailing is evident on the tongue, eye stays, and miniature Swooshes on the heel for a nice touch of contrast.
Finished off with a matching full-length sole unit and black outsole, you can purchase this pair at select Nike accounts worldwide now.
Summer 2016 Colorways Of The Nike Roshe Waffle Racer NM
By SoleInsider
Previously showcasing its upcoming Obsidian colorway in closer detail, an overview of the Nike Roshe Waffle Racer NM in a variety of finishes is revealed, as they’re all scheduled to drop in July.
Featuring a combination of two-tone iterations that consist of royal blue/maize, white/black, red/black, light blue/white, black/white, dark green/volt and grey/black — the silhouette is essentially a blend of the iconic Waffle Racer that first debuted in 1974 and the popular Roshe.
Maintaining its runner profile intact, you can find these offerings at select Nike accounts starting July, for a price tag of $125 each.
I?m always a fan of runners and I like how the blend of these two designs came out. I?m just biased I guess. These colorways are pretty solid and versatile as well.
