Mark Parkers #BlackLivesMatter Letter To Nike Employees

Nike’s CEO is taking a stand against racial injustice. Mark Parker is one of the most powerful people in America thanks to his standing as chairman, president, and CEO of Nike, and today he used his influence to pen a letter to his employees demanding change. With the recent killings of Philando Castile, Alton Sterling, and the mass shooting of five police officers in Dallas, Parker decided to voice his displeasure on the recent tragedies and confirm that Nike stands against discrimination in any form. He commended Nike athletes like LeBron James, Carmelo Anthony, and Chris Paul for their heartfelt speech to open the ESPYs that ‘eloquently argued for change and to stop the situation’. He ended the letter by showing support to the Black Lives Matter movement. You can read it in full below.

Renowned for reinterpreting popular and classic footwear styles, sneaker customizer and designer, John Geiger, unveils his latest installment with a custom Nike Air Yeezy 2 “Golden Child,” which has been crafted in conjunction with LASCO — an LA-based company that is essentially similar to Hender Scheme, by creating luxury-like variations of well-known sneaker silhouettes.

The defining theme is essentially prominent across its upper composition which incorporates five different types of leather and three different threads. Overall, the custom shoe includes 62 individual pieces, while more than 40 hours of meticulous craftsmanship produces one pair only.

Extremely limited in quantities, look for this LASCO x John Geiger exclusive variation of the Yeezy 2 to drop on August 13th.

Also, view a video of the silhouette here.

Author’s Take

I like it and I’m going to try and cop. The construction looks solid and I wonder what Kanye would say.

Look For This Cargo Khaki Nike Sock Dart This Weekend

Nike Sock Dart 1 Nike Sock Dart 2 Nike Sock Dart 3 Nike Sock Dart 4 Nike Sock Dart 5

The Nike Sock Dart will continue its reign as one of the best lifestyle runners out right now with this new colorway that drops this weekend.

Looking at this colorway of the slip-on silhouette from the Swoosh we can see that it comes draped in an olive upper that Nike is calling Cargo Khaki. The shoe features a knitted mesh upper with an adjustable midfoot strap that provides a locked-down feel. The strap featured on this pair has been done in black along with the inner liner, heel, toecap, and the rubber outsole. A white midsole with black speckling caps off the look on this new pair of Sock Darts.

Select international retailers will be releasing this pair tomorrow with a stateside release still pending.

Author’s Take

One of the cleanest colorways of the Nike Sock Dart that I’ve seen. I love the combination of olive and black, and that speckled midsole is the icing on the cake. Hopefully I’m able to grab a pair.

The Nike Hyperdunk 2016 Flyknit USA Home Releases Next Week

NIKE HYPERDUNK 2016 1 NIKE HYPERDUNK 2016 2 NIKE HYPERDUNK 2016 3 NIKE HYPERDUNK 2016 4 NIKE HYPERDUNK 2016 5 NIKE HYPERDUNK 2016 6 NIKE HYPERDUNK 2016 7

Earlier this week we received a look at the Nike Hyperdunk 2016 Flyknit USA Away that will be arriving at select Nike retailers. But you know Nike had to give the boys a Home colorway too, right?

This new colorway that you see above is the USA Home version that we can expect some members of Team USA to wear at the 2016 Rio Olympics. The shoe features a White Flyknit upper with Dark Obsidian and Bright Crimson detailing on the Swoosh branding that appears on the midsoles. An icy blue outsole finishes off the look on this Nike Hyperdunk 2016 Flyknit USA Home that is scheduled to release on July 18th for a retail price of $200. Will you cop or drop?

via: Nike

Author’s Take

I’m not a big fan of the Flyknit collar, but if I had to pick I like the away colorway better because of the blue Flyknit upper. I just can’t do white Flyknit.

The Nike SB Zoom Stefan Janoski Ale Brown Is On The Way

nike-sb-zoom-stefan-janoski-ale-brown 1 nike-sb-zoom-stefan-janoski-ale-brown 2 nike-sb-zoom-stefan-janoski-ale-brown 3

The Nike SB Zoom Stefan Janoski keeps the colorways coming. Although there are hybrid versions of the shoe, many people to prefer the original version. For that reason alone Nike SB continues to give the people new colorways to choose from.

The Nike SB Zoom Stefan Janoski Ale Brown comes in a full leather upper done in a Brown colorway. Accompanying the Brown tonal look of the shoe are the hits of Black placed on the embroidered Nike Swoosh, laces and tongue tag. Creating some sharp contrast is the White vulcanized midsole placed below. Pretty simple, but that’s usually what looks best on this model. Said to be releasing in the near future, how many of you plan on adding these to your collection?

via: Asphaltgold

Author’s Take

I love the shoe, but the comfort is not quite there. That’s the only reason stopping me from owning a dozen pairs.

Release Date: Kim Jones x NikeLab Air Zoom LWP

With an all-white pair revealed during Louis Vuitton’s fashion show during Paris Fashion Week last month, the Kim Jones x NikeLab Air Zoom LWP is now officially unveiled in its three inaugural colorways.

Essentially a design that takes inspiration from the upper of the Air Zoom LWP from 1995, which is noted as the first running shoe to incorporate Zoom Air cushioning, the model has also been revamped with the last of the Air Max 1, also noted as one of his favorite silhouettes from the Swoosh.

“I like the fact that it has come from an old shoe but has become a completely new shoe,” Jones said of the updated tooling. “It took quite a few tries to get it right. At first it was too chunky and then it was too skinny. I was thinking about a shoe that I would really like to wear and be proud of.”

Furthermore, Jones added that the particular colorways of black/volt, black/white, and black/purple were inspired by the Air Max lineage as well. “All the colorways come from old Air Maxes?there?s an Air Max 95 colorway and one from a classic, original Air Max, then we added another color palette that was looking at the future.”

If you’re interested in purchasing either pair, you can find the range of footwear, alongside an exclusively designed wind runner that features water-resistant woven fabric and can be rolled into a pouch for easy packing at select NikeLab locations starting July 23.

Author’s Take

The modern take looks solid but I guess I?m just biased since I?m into runners. Aside from the collaboration, the colorways are classic and versatile.
