Author’s Take

This is what I expect when I hear or see the Mambacurial colorway. I wish these would have been Flyknit though.

A Detailed Look At The Nike Sock Dart SE Premium

Nike Sportswear brought back the Nike Sock Dart retro at the perfect time. In a climate where slip-on sock-like fitting silhouettes are a must-have, the Nike Sock Dart proved to be ahead of its time seeing as how the model dates back all the way to 2004. NSW has since brought updates with the Nike Sock Dart SE ditching the translucent midfoot strap for added colors while new color blockings are showcasing that the model doesn’t need to be monochromatic with that stretchy precursor to Flyknit. After a preview of three upcoming Nike Sock Dart SE colorways for November 2016, today we get a detailed look at a “Greyscale” colorway perfect for any occasion.

This pair looks like it jumped straight out of Pleasantville with its tonal greys giving off a black and white aesthetic. There is a hidden pop of color with the University Red insole unit, but other than that, this tonal offering keeps things relatively simple. A Dark Grey heel matches the midfoot strap while a lighter grey serves as the base throughout to match the speckled midsole. International shops have already started stocking this pair, so you can be on the lookout for this Sock Dart to arrive at retailers later this September. More photos below.

Nike Honors Barcelona With Football-Inspired Kobe 11 Elite

In another life, Kobe Bryant could’ve been a soccer player. The Black Mamba grew up traveling with his father, an international basketball player, where Kobe would beg to go to his practices and watch Showtime era Lakers VHS tapes that his grandparents would ship to him. But what if those tapes never got there and Kobe’s love for the game of soccer turned into something more? That’s the thought behind this latest Nike Kobe 11 Barcelona, a “Mambacurial” offering inspired by Kobe’s favorite club slated to release on September 8th for $200 USD.

While Nike Basketball is offering up a ton of Mambacurial soccer inspirations from the OG colorway to a new What The Mambacurial, the Kobe 11 Barcelona is probably the most subdued of the bunch. The premium Flyknit upper utilizes a College Navy base with a contrasting University Red medial side in honor of FC Barcelona’s signature colors. A soccer patch inspired heel matches the orange Swoosh branding – a hint at the squad’s alternate uniforms – while a classic gum bottom adds a lifestyle twist.

What do you think of the upcoming Mambacurial Kobe 11 Barcelona? Be sure to check out official photos below and stay tuned for more Kobe updates right here on Sneaker News.

The Nike Kobe 11 Mambacurial Releases In Two Weeks

The Nike Kobe 11 “Mambacurial” is almost here with a release date slated for September 15th, 2016. The original Mambacurial colorway utilizing those head-turning Pink Flash, Action Green, and Red Plum shades were originally found on the Nike Kobe 8 System inspired by the Nike Mercurial soccer boot. This OG colorway joins a rather long list of other Nike Kobe 11 Mambacurial offerings, as Nike Basketball will also release the eclectic What The Mambacurial Kobe 11 and another pair inspired by Kobe’s love of FC Barcelona.

The Nike Kobe 11 Mambacurial ditches the premium Flyknit construction this time around, instead opting for that breathable Engineered Mesh counterpart. While the pair will be a bit cheaper at $160 USD, the construction and aesthetic is by no means cheap. Nike ditches the forefoot Swoosh placement inspired by Nike soccer wears for a traditional side panel look with Action Green highlighting the branding throughout. The medial side sports that bold ‘Nike’ callout in white while a translucent Action Green outsole contrasts the Pink Flash engineered mesh upper perfectly.

What do you think of the Mambacurial Kobe 11? Check out more detailed shots below and know that you can grab your pair on September 15th for $160 USD. For more of the latest sneakers headed to retailers, be sure to go to our always updated release dates page.

NikeLab Releasing A Footscape Woven In Black
