The Nike Air Max 1 Atmos Elephant Is A Must-Have Air Max Classic

Aside from releasing as a part of the extremely limited Atmos x Air Jordan 3 x Nike Air Max 1 Pack, Nike will also be dropping the Nike Air Max 1 Atmos Elephant as an individual release the very same day. In other words, you’re going to have two different chances at scooping up the pair you see above.

Winner of last year’s Air Max Vote Back poll, the Nike Air Max 1 Atmos Elephant returns in original form. Standout features on the shoe include the bold Jade hits used for the branding, the elephant print all around the mudguard and ankle region, the White on the midsole and toebox, and the Black suede taking care of the rest of the shoe. There’s nothing that needs to be said about this release that you don’t already know. To put it in simpler terms, if you can find a way to get your hands on a pair of these, do so without hesitation. You’ll be glad that you did. We’re not sure if these will be as limited as the Atmos x Air Jordan 3 x Nike Air Max 1 Pack, but we do know that only very few select retailers such as BSTN will have these bad boys in stock. Release date is March 18th. Retail price is set at $150.

Another Look At The Off-White x Nike Blazer Mid

Back in early February we gave you an initial look of the Off-White x Nike Blazer Mid collab. Not much info has been provided since then, but today we came across a brand new image of the shoe we’d like to share with you.

The Off-White x Nike Blazer Mid has a very vintage look to them thanks in large part to the colors used on the shoe. It comes with a leather and suede upper done in a few different shades of White. When it comes to the branding, the design of the shoe is centered around the large Black Nike Swoosh on the side panels that actually happens to extend all the way down to the off-White (no pun intended) sole unit. Additional printed branding that reads “Off-White c/o Nike Blazer Mid Beaverton Oregon USA” is also placed adjacent to the Nike Swoosh to complete the main features on the shoe. No word yet on when these will drop, but as soon as that info is provided we will be sure to let you know.

Heres What The Nike Air Max 1 Atmos Elephant Looks Like On-Feet

Originally released in 2007, the Nike Air Max 1 Atmos Elephant will be returning in all of its glory this upcoming weekend thanks to the thousands of people selecting it as the Vote Back winner last year.

This highly sought after colorway of the iconic Air Max 1 features a Black suede upper on the side panels and heel with contrasting touches of White leather on the toe and midfoot. What really makes this shoe stand out are the hits of Jade on the Swoosh and Nike branding on the tongue and heel, as well as the elephant print that wraps around the entire mudguard. A white midsole and black rubber outsole finish off the look.

Check out the on-feet images above and look for the Nike Air Max 1 Atmos Elephant to release at select Nike retailers on March 18th for $150. Good luck grabbing a pair if you’ll be trying to do so cause we’re all gonna need it.

Nikes Original Aqua Sock Gets An Update

One of the most distinctly ’90s designs ever from Nike is no doubt the Aqua Sock. In neon colors and designed to wear in or out of the water, the Aqua Sock could only have came from the times of surf vibes, bleached mullets, and Oakley sunglasses. Now it’s back for a whole new life, resurrected this spring as the Aqua Sock 360. The new design takes the original mesh sock construction as its foundation, but updates the silhouette for the modern age with a more substantial three-piece sole unit and heel counter for support and style. Get your first look at the Aqua Sock 360 here, and expect them soon at Nike Sportswear retailers.

Sneaker Grails: The Electric Green Nike Air Max Tailwind 2+ And Nike LeBron 7 Low

The Nike Factory Stores of Southern California (that’s Cabazon, Ontario Mills, Lake Elsinore, Long Beach, Carlsbad, Camarillo, etc.) are home to some of my greatest sneaker finds. Long before I started doing this sneaker blog thing for a living, I was digging through outlet stores because (a) I had an office job that prevented me from chasing kicks that required actual effort and (b) it’s a lot more fun and satisfying to come across an outlet gem than walking next door to the flagship store and worrying the hyped pair you is already gone by the line you’re next in line.

2010 was a particularly memorable year because I came across two pairs of outlet finds that would actually down a path that was bright, loud, obnoxious, and green. It wasn’t just any green either; it was electric. And with Nike Air Max Day Month celebrating all things Air and uh, Max, this edition of Sneaker Grails takes a look at two kicks that aren’t really grails, but rather gems to me.

Nike Air Max Tailwind 2+ Electric Green
Released: 2010
Retail Price: $100
Outlet Price: $59.99
Years Active In The Rotation: 5 (now MIA, probably donated or recycled at this point)

Not my actual pair because God knows where that is now…

I have a weird mental block when it comes to outlet finds compared to those I buy at regular stores. It doesn’t matter what sneaker I bought and how much it cost, if it came from the outlet store, it is going to become an instant everyday shoe. Somebody might give me hell for wearing an Air Jordan 3 Pure so liberally that the chips of paint are practically falling off the midsole, but it didn’t matter to me because I got them for sale in Ontario. But if I had bought the same pair for full price at Niketown? They would still be VVVVVVVVNDS condition to this day. And maybe that’s why I prefer outlet stores; for the reckless abandon that I bring to my kicks. So you can only imagine what paces I would put on a pair of Air Maxes on clearance.

Outside of the Nike Air Max 90 (my favorite classic Air Max) and the Flyknit Air Max (because duh, Flyknit), that Tailwind 2+ is my favorite Air Max shoe. Whether I wore them on Casual Fridays at my old office job, played impromptu pick-up basketball in them, or let them get drenched in the rain because I didn’t want my Cole Haans to get ruined, those Tailwind 2s served a purpose, even if I never used the Nike+ functionality.

Nike Air Max LeBron 7 Low Dunkman (But Not Really Dunkman)
Released: 2010
Retail Price: $140
Outlet Price: $99.99
Years Active In The Rotation: Still wear them occasionally

The Nike Air Max LeBron 7 is easily one of the best LeBron signatures of all the times. It was certainly the most eye-catching one after a string of duds (in my opinion, kids, don’t @ me with your fandom for the 2 or the 4) that set the line back for a few years. I don’t recall buying many LeBrons post-Zoom Generation, but the 7 was the pair that got me back in the fold. Jason Petrie’s design – the 7 featured a full-length visible Air Max unit, Flywire, and was lightweight compared to other models – really catapulted LeBron’s line to the proverbial next level. It also helped that the colorways that we got for the LeBron 7 were just sick. Red Carpets, Cool Greys, All-Stars, Akrons, More Than A Games were just a handful of 7s that are still talked about to this day and that’s not even counting the Low colorways.

I still remember the shocked looked on my face when I saw a returned pair of LeBron 7 Lows on the wall. Sure, it wasn’t technically a Dunkman (the alternate LeBron logo that signified his Dunkman persona was noticeably absent) in the traditional sense, but I didn’t give a s**t. The Electric Green hue was the same as the one on my pair of Tailwinds so I was more than willing to pay $99.99 (plus tax) that it was going to take to bring these home with me. It didn’t get as much time as a casual pair to rock as the Tailwinds, but it certainly found a home on the court. I won’t say that I’m the best street ball player around, but let’s just say that if you’re going to wear a pair bright white kicks with Electric Green on them you better have a game that at least backs it up.

The Nike Air Woven Is Making A Comeback

The Nike Air Woven is having a major comeback this Spring 2017 season, as the oft-forgotten lifestyle model that garnered some attention during its initial run in the early 2000s is back in a number of upcoming looks. Of course, the silhouette picked up steam from the Colette x Nike Air Woven collaboration to help celebrate the Parisian boutique’s 20th anniversary. While that collab was extremely limited with just a 213-pair run of individually numbered blue and white woven options up for grabs, the trio pictured below will be more readily available. Lightweight and breathable, the Air Woven features a sleek and minimalist design that shows through the White/Black, Black/White, and Concord Purple colorways arriving at international retailers sooner rather than later. Check out a better view below and stay tuned for a coming Release Date in the near future.
