Are any of you out there fans of the Doernbecher x Nike Freestyle Collection. Many people are, especially of the Air Jordans that release every year. Earlier this month we found out that the Doernbecher Freestyle auction will take place in Portland, Oregon on October 28th, 2016 as well as met the patients who will be designing the sneakers.  We still don’t know what silhouettes will be included in this year’s collection but we’re eager to find out.

Recently MLB player Adam Jones of the Baltimore Orioles was able to complete the Air Jordan Doernbecher collection. He was on the hunt for the Air Jordan 5 Doernbecher and was able to add it to his collection after a long hunt. “The shoe will never get made again, so I look at it as I’m blessed to be able to throw money away like that,” he said. “I’m just blessed to find a passion. I like shoes. I like Jordans, so, hey, it’s all part of it.”

It took Jones four years and a shoe-sleuthing crew of 10 people to complete the extraordinary and special collection. Do any of you own the entire Air Jordan Doernbecher Collection?

This forthcoming variation of the Air Jordan 5 is noted to celebrate the 2016 Summer Olympics, although it’s official release date will be long after the summer games in Rio are over.

While it evokes the celebratory medals given in award ceremonies, in particular, third place, the bronze element is prominent on the tongue and signature shark teeth element on its midsole. Comprised of leather and synthetics across its upper with a slight sheen for additional flair, the sneaker is topped off with a clean, white midsole unit and translucent icy blue outsole.

Priced at $190, you can purchase a pair at select JB and Nike retailers on September 24th.

Originally seen in 1999, this upcoming remastered variation will essentially mimic its original counterpart. Tonal black is dominant across its leather and durabuck constructed upper, while the stealthy hue also flows throughout the tongue, laces and portions of its midsole unit.

I never really liked the silhouette much before, but, I think it’s growing on me since I’ve also grown older, haha. This colorway is appealing and classic. It should get the attention it deserves.

Essentially a lifestyle rendition of the iconic basketball silhouette, the model is comprised of premium leather with the application of perforated located on the toe box and side panels to increase ventilation. The year of the Air Jordan 12 continues this weekend with the release of the Air Jordan 12 Alternate, which is a reimagining of the Air Jordan 12 for the modern era when signature athletes had all sorts of player exclusives. We’ve already seen precedents of this theme earlier this year with the Air Jordan 4 Alternate and the Air Jordan 2 Alternate, but unlike those two, people will actually want to cop this new Air Jordan 12. About the only thing stopping this upcoming from being a major hit across is the fatigue of too many 12s already dropping this year with the potential of more to come.

But since this is NBA 2K Kicks, let’s take a look at what MJ would have looked like wearing the Air Jordan 12 Alternate by featuring him in the famous pinstripe alternate version of the Chicago Bulls jersey. Since we are already familiar with MJ wearing the 12s in either the Taxi or Cherry colorways, it was a little jarring to see even the digital version in what is essentially a flip version of the Cherrys.

The 2016 U.S. Men’s Basketball Team was announced yesterday and Jimmy Butler is one of the players who has been selected to represent for the red, white and blue when the squad heads over to Rio for the 2016 Summer Olympics.

Butler along with Carmelo Anthony are the only Jordan Brand athletes on the team as other players like Blake Griffin, Russell Wetbrook, Kawhi Leonard and Chris Paul – who are all signed to Jordan Brand – will not be a part of this year’s team. In an interview with Sole Collector yesterday, lots of NBA players announced what sneakers they would be wearing throughout the Olympics. Jimmy Butler dropped a bomb on us by announcing that he will be debuting the Air Jordan 31 in Rio.

The Air Jordan 31 was rumored to be releasing as early as September but there is still no confirmation. Who’s excited?

Jordan Brand has been breaking new ground the last couple of years by opening new retail stores in Chicago in 2015 and in Toronto earlier this year during All Star Weekend.

If you thought that 3016 Yonge was international, Jordan Brand will really be taking things to the next level as they plan on opening a new store in Dubai. The store, which will be known as DXB23, will be located in the Dubai Mall in the United Arab Emirates.

The upcoming gradeschool rendition of the Air Jordan 12 consists of a vibrant Hyper Jade finish, which is set to make its official debut in a few more days.

Aside from its exclusive GS variation, the basketball silhouette will also be offered in a much smaller GP sizing, as showcased in the gallery above. Flaunting a two-tone combination of black for its nubuck upper, the inner lining, pull tabs, rear section, leather forefoot and outsole rendered in the defining hue to cap it all off.

Furthermore, subtle grey accents adorn the miniature branded side panels and metallic silver on the upper eyelets round out the design.
