An On-Feet Look At The Nike Air Huarache Sunset Gold
The Nike Air Huarache may be losing some momentum this year when comparing it to the success it had last year, but every once in a while Nike releases a colorway that reminds us how dope the shoe can really look. This time the ladies get hooked up by getting this exclusive colorway. Let’s take a closer look at the Nike Air Huarache Sunset Gold.
Basically drenched in an all-Gold upper, all of the major parts of the shoe rock the bold tonal look. This includes the neoprene, overlays, heel cage, laces and lining. The vibrant monochromatic style is a perfect look of this classic Nike model. Giving the shoe its final touches is the all-White midsole placed below. Reasonably priced at $110, ladies act fast before the all sell out!
Last year we saw Jordan Brand release a new lifestyle/casual runner with the Jordan Eclipse. Immediately drawing comparisons to the Roshe Run, it seems that people have been on the fence on whether or not to embrace the silhouette.
For those of you that are fans of the sneaker there’s a new colorway right now that’s up for grabs. This Jordan Eclipse features a pristine all-white mesh upper with subtle hits of Metallic Silver and Pure Platinum landing on various parts of the sneaker including the branding on the tongue and heel, as well as the pull tabs.
Fans of the Jordan Eclipse can pick up this colorway now at select JB retailers for $110.
Is This Nike Air Force 180 The Best Olympic Release Of 2016
Are you still debating on what Nike Olympic sneaker you should cop this Summer? One option that you definitely can’t go wrong with is the Nike Air Force 180.
Worn by Charles Barkley during the 1992 Summer Olympics in Barcelona that saw Team USA dominate the competition, this Air Force 180 has received the retro treatment once again. Looking at the retro Nike Basketball sneaker we can see that White dominates the leather and nubuck upper while Midnight Navy, Metallic Gold and Varsity Red accents complete the Olympic theme.
If you’d like to add this shoe to your collection you can do so now by picking it up at select Nike retailers for $140. Don’t sleep cause they won’t last long.
Professional skater, Kyle Walker just became the latest skater to get his own Vans signature shoe. Dubbed the Vans Kyle Walker Pro, let’s get our first look at the shoe.
The Vans Kyle Walker Pro’s most notable feature is without a doubt the use of WAFFLECUP technology. Placing this on the shoe gives it the support and stability of a cupsole and the boardfeel and grip of a vulc model. Other features on the shoe include the ULTRACUSH HD impact sockliners and DURACAP rubber underlays. The inaugural colorways will begin releasing on July 9th. How many of you are looking to pick up a pair?
Not only does the shoe look good, it looks like it’s equipped with dope skating features as well. Great work, Vans! Congrats to Kyle as well!

Dwyane Wade Makes His Own Way (Again) With Move To The Chicago Bulls
Dwyane Wade is a member of Chicago Bulls. That statement alone isn’t all that shocking considering that Wade is a Chicago native and there were always signs that if Wade was ever going to leave Wade County (aka Miami-Dade County) and the franchise that considers him its greatest player (sorry, ‘Zo), it would be for the Windy City. But nobody ever imagined that the move would be this sudden and dramatic.
In a struggle that has much to do with pride as it did money, the consensus across the internets was that Wade thought that Pat Riley and the Heat organization disrespected him and the sacrifices (ie. pay cuts) he made to bring in players like LeBron James and Chris Bosh. Riley, possibly freaking out at the idea of becoming the East Coast version of the Los Angeles Lakers (rebuilding on the fly while an aging star takes up a ton of cap space), was understandably concerned about their future and were not willing to commit a max deal to Wade. Despite the overtures that this separation might be legit this time around, it’s a song and dance the two parties have done before so most assumed it was only a matter of time before they would settle things and go back to the status quo. Oops…
?The way I did it at Converse was kinda the way it went at Jordan: The designer comes up with a concept of a shoe and you like it or you don?t like it, then they come back with the next round,? he said. ?For nine years I dealt with the same thing at Converse and Jordan. I was fine with it at certain times, and at other times I wasn?t.” – Dwyane Wade
Dwyane Wade was far from the superstar that he would become when he was the fifth overall pick of the 2003 NBA Draft. While LeBron signed with Nike and Carmelo Anthony went to Jordan Brand, Wade was technically under the Nike umbrella at Converse, but his brand and his shoes weren’t exactly lighting the world on fire. Even though Converse was still making basketball sneakers long after Larry Bird, Magic Johnson and Larry Johnson, to most people in 2003, they were the brand that made Chuck Taylors. It was his high-level play – leading the Heat to the playoffs and actually winning a series – during his rookie season that made everybody notice. When Shaquille O’Neal and a whole cast of veterans jumped on board a season later to help Wade and eventually bring the franchise its first championship in 2006, the kid from Marquette by way of Robbins, Illinois became the league’s poster child, surpassing ‘Melo and arguably ‘Bron in the process.
Even though Wade was winning on the court, his shoes were not on the same trajectory as his star. Even though he would stay with the brand for a few more years, you’d be hard pressed to look back at his time with Converse and come up with a pair that you could say are classics. Anecdotally, Wade occupied the same space that Stephen Curry does now in that while you didn’t see a lot of sneakerheads or adults wear Converse Wades, he was a big hit with the kids. That might be cool for a young veteran with a championship ring to his name, but by the time the decade ended it was time for a change.
How much crazier would Wade signing with Chicago had been had he stayed at Jordan Brand these past several years? Imagine the marketing possibilities and the retros and the welcoming wagon and the retros. Did I mention the retros?
But it was all bad timing. Depending on your perspective, Wade and Jordan Brand teamed up too early or too soon. Wade would have the Russell Westbrook spot to this day if only he had stayed with the brand. Sneaker culture and Jordan Brand were still in an evolving process in 2010 and the homecoming that should have made all the sense in the world was short-lived. Instead of giving Wade a signature performance shoe that barely registers in the sneaker community (sorry, Fly Wades), he should have been wearing the flagship Air Jordan model almost exclusively with the occasional retro to break the monotony. And instead of the Westbrook 0 off-court shoe, we might be looking at multiple Jordan x Wade lifestyle releases by now.
Think of it like this. When the Heat won the championship in 2012, all the sneakerheads were talking about were LeBron’s Nike LeBron 9 Elites and the subsequent Championship Pack that blew up over the summer. Wade wore some white and gold Fly Wades that while cool-looking in retrospect, barely registered a blip. What if Wade wore a red and gold Air Jordan 2012 or the Air Jordan 11 Ring Ceremony that Ray Allen broke out a year later? What if that’s what Wade wanted to do all along and the two sides couldn’t reconcile? Well, we know that answer to that now…
Yesterday, Li-Ning released the Way of Wade 4 Miami/Chicago Pack, a collection of WoW 4s that represent Wade’s current and former home. We thought we knew which was which as recently as the Fourth of July, but funny how things change. What’s also funny is that we are now four (soon to be five) signature shoes into Wade’s run with Li-Ning and not that many people outside of China and the diehard sneaker community has noticed.
Wade may never sell millions of Li-Nings in America just like he may never taste another deep playoff run with the Bulls, but maybe that’s not what’s important to him anymore. What he wanted from the Heat was a thank you in the form of a max contract that he rightfully earned after giving up so much to help the only NBA franchise he has ever known. What he wanted from a sneaker company was the chance to be its Michael Jordan, not play under his shadow. It might not have the prestige of Jordan Brand or the brand recognition of Converse, but the Li-Ning offered Wade the same things the Bulls were willing to offer him that his old home(s) wasn’t: a voice.
