We’re not sure how, but Nike Sportswear found yet another way to color-up the Air Max 90 in a clean new black, red, and white color scheme. The basic “Essential” version of the legendary silhouette features the color combination that you can almost never get wrong, thanks to its wide appeal of the three colors synonymous in the sneaker world with Michael Jordan and the Bulls. This time around the Air Max 90 gets a primarily Gym Red upper in mesh and synthetic leather, with the mudguards in black and the remaining accents including the solid midsoles in white. Those in the market for a new pair of “Bred” Air Max 90s should be on the lookout for these now at select Nike Sportswear retailers.

This weekend is going to be full of interesting releases that we can’t wait see how the sneakerhead community is going to react to, including a new Air Jordan 14 colorway even though there’s still the most recent one sitting on shelves, the first colorway of the Air Jordan 31 available to the general public, the debut of the adidas D Rose 7 and a whole lot more. But maybe the thing that the KoF Staff is looking forward to the most isn’t even dropping this weekend, but will be landing in the middle of next week. EIC Juan: (BUY Gold and Bronze, PASS on Silver) The gold colorway was an instant cop the moment I saw them and the bronze has slowly made their way into the same status, but something about the silver just rubs me the wrong way and I can’t quite put my finger as to why other than I already have a few Ultra Boosts in that grey/silver spectrum.
Renz: (BUY) If I’m able to, all three pairs. You can’t go wrong with either as well. The gold and silver options are more appealing, just because it’s a bit more shiny.
News Juan: (WAIT) Pretty dope pack to commemorate the Olympics. I’m pretty sure these will sell out fairly quick, so my “wait” response is out of the question. The Black and Gold pair looks real nice. Don’t get me wrong, I like the Ultra Boost, but in my opinion, there are better Boost options out there that I’d rather spend my $180 on.
Andres: (BUY) I already own the black 3M Ultra Boosts, but that Gold medal colorway just looks too nice to pass on. The leather side panel cages and the hits of gold on the tongue and heel make them pop beautifully. I’m definitely going to try and get my hands on a pair.
Juan Martinez, Editor-In-Chief: (WAIT) I love the Air Jordan 14, but I don’t have a burning desire to own every colorway like maybe an Air Jordan 3 or Air Jordan 12. This is not a must-have for me, but with the Jordan retros finally getting price drops, this becomes more appealing the further south of $150 it gets…
Renz Ofiaza, News: (WAIT) Since I’ve grown older, I’m appreciating this silhouette a lot more. You can’t go wrong with this OG colorway, but, for a lower price, I’m considering on purchasing a pair.
Juan Carrillo, News: (PASS) The only Jordan 14s I’ve ever liked have been the 14 Lows in the Laney colorway. I’ve yet to see another colorway that blows me away. I feel like this pair is missing something, it’s a little too bland in my opinion.
Andres Carrillo, News: (PASS) It’s always cool to see an original colorway of an Air Jordan retro release, but since I’m not a big fan of the Air Jordan 14 I have no intention on picking these up. I’ll pass and hold off on a colorway that I really like.
EIC Juan: (PASS) Unlike when Derrick Rose mentioned “they” when he said that some were referring to the Knicks as a super team, I’m not going to make the same mistake and claim there are those out there on the sneaker bloggersphere who think these are the hottest D Rose kicks to drop in a long while. From what I’ve seen from the shoe so far, the performance is great but it’s not the breakthrough that the Crazylight Boost 2016 is or even the Crazy Explosive.
Renz: (PASS) In terms of its design and colorway, I think it’s an appealing pair. The construction looks solid too, but, I’m not really into the high-cut style that much.
News Juan: (WAIT) The D Rose 7 has to be the best Rose model ever. The construction of the upper paired up with the Boost sole looks amazing. I’ve never owned a pair of Rose sneakers because I never thought they were good looking. This one is another story. At the end of the day, this is STILL a Rose signature sneaker, meaning that in a couple of months they will be on the clearance rack. When the time arrives, then I’ll pick up a pair. Maybe.
Andres: (PASS) A Primeknit upper and full length Boost are two huge positives for the new D Rose 7. However this still looks too much like a performance shoe which would make it pretty difficult to wear it casually. Hopefully a lifestyle pair drops down the line.
EIC Juan: (WAIT) With the “96-03″, the eight stars and a few other signs, I really want this to be an adidas troll. It’s not, but it’s nice to want things. Overall, it’s another great Nike Kobe 11 but I since it’s not selling out right away I can wait for a price drop to cop at a later date.
Renz: (BUY) I think this silhouette is the one of best looking sneakers that blends lifestyle appeal and on-court wear perfectly. The color combo is appealing overall and I’m just a fan.
News Juan: (BUY) How I wish the entire Flyknit upper looked like the front portion. Ah well, what are you gonna do? The shoe doesn’t really stand out to me, I have my eyes on the upcoming 4KB colorway. If I were to pick up another Kobe, it would have to be that one.
Andres: (PASS) Decent colorway of the Kobe 11 but really nothing special. The branding should have also been in orange to add some more contrast to the shoe. These are a pass for me.
EIC Juan: (BUY) Not for me, but for my nephew since it’s only available in kid’s sizes. As a sucker for (almost) all things Air Jordan 12, this a colorway that I would definitely try to pick up if they made them in grown-up sizes, especially since I don’t have the Flint Grey release from 2003.
Renz: (BUY) I’m just biased towards the model and colorway. I would’ve preferred it without the black accents, but, it’s a clean iteration.
News Juan: (PASS) In a year where an endless amount of Jordan 12s have come out, this one fails at standing out. Nothing about the shoe makes me want to get it even if Jordan Brand would have made them in my size. It’s okay, but it’s definitely nothing special.
Andres: (PASS) Another Air Jordan 12??? I’m sure lots of men won’t be happy that these are a GS exclusive. I’m not really mad though. This pair doesn’t catch my attention too much.
Nike Gives Michael Johnson His Own Colorway Of The Nike Air Zoom Pegasus 33

Olympic Sprinter and gold medalist Michael Johnson just released a new sneaker with Nike. Nike just dropped a new Air Zoom Pegasus 33 inspired by the gold track sneakers that he wore 20 years ago at the 1996 Olympics in Atlanta.
Known as the Nike Air Zoom Pegasus 33 LE Michael Johnson, this pair of runners comes in a split colorway as one shoe is done in red and the other in blue. The engineered mesh upper is then contrast by hits of Metallic Gold on the branding, midsole, and Michael Johnson’s signature that has been added on the insoles.
Look for this limited edition Nike Air Zoom Pegasus 33 to release on August 17th for men and women.

Michael Johnson Has A Special Edition Nike Zoom Pegasus 33

20 years ago, Michael Johnson laced up the most iconic footwear the Olympic games has ever seen during the 1996 Atlanta Olympics. He would go on to break both the 200m and 400m Olympic Records and stood as the fastest man on planet Earth for quite some time, doing so in a flashy pair of metallic gold Nike shoes that predicted his 1st place finish before he even took his mark at the starting line. Not only was he the man with the Gold Medals, he was now “The Man With The Golden Shoes” to match his gold chain and hoop earing. Nike is paying homage with a golden anniversary of their own through this Nike Pegasus Michael Johnson exclusive.
The Nike Air Zoom Pegasus 33 doesn’t go full on metallic gold here, though. Instead, the Engineered Mesh upper focuses on the alternating Swoosh branding that hit the infamous golden Nike track spikes two decades ago. The left foot mimics the stripes in the American flag with a bold red color and metallic gold speckled midsole while the right foot honors Old Glory’s stars in a deep navy.
The Nike Pegasus Michael Johnson will release in both men’s and women’s sizes on August 17th. Pricing information is unavailable at this time, but know that you can find more Olympic updates right here on Sneaker News.
An original colorway of the Nike Flyknit Racer returns this summer, as this volt/black combination was first introduced back in 2012, and prominently worn by Team USA athletes during the London Summer Olympics.
Although it doesn’t bear the exact same color coordination as the aforementioned pair, volt is more dominant across the intricately knitted upper with subtle accents of black intertwined throughout. Tonal black is more prominent on the Swoosh, collar lining, laces and tongue, as the sleek profile is topped off with a White midsole and black rubber outsole, with more volt gracing the frontal portion as well.
Retailing for $150, you can expect to find this pair at select Nike retailers nationwide starting August 19th.
I would’ve preferred the 2012 version more and I was hoping it would be revived to celebrate this year’s Olympics as well. But, I’m a fan of the silhouette overall and this is another solid offering.
Treated in the defining tone across its molded foam upper that offers a soft feel and superb cushioning, perforations have also been applied on the toebox to provide breathable comfort. Contrasting accents of black are implemented on the upper eyelets, Swooshes and visible air bubble unit in the heel, while a white midsole caps off the profile and respective colorway.
Retailing for $140, you can purchase this pair at select Nike retailers overseas first, but, a stateside release is expected very soon.
I?ll always be an advocate of the silhouette. This revamped look delivers more comfort and functionality. You can’t go wrong with this colorway either.
Nike Celebrates The Worlds Fashion Capitals With The Look Of The City Pack

Nike Sportswear is releasing a new massive Collection for the ladies known as the Look Of The City Pack.
Consisting of the Nike Air Force 1, Nike Air Presto, Nike Cortez Ultra, Nike Tennis Classic, and the Nike Air Max BW Ultra, this collection pays homage to the fashion capitals of the world. Each pair has a stylish and fashion forward look as metallic pearlized uppers are featured along with swirl-like stitching for some added flair.
The Nike WMNS Look Of The City has yet to arrive stateside but you can expect them to arrive later this Summer.
Late last month we gave you a first look at the NikeLab Blazer Low Studio. This NikeLab version of the model was going to be using premium leathers to give the shoe a look and feel its never had before. We’re now happy to let you know what both tonal colorways are available for purchase.
Coming in either Black or White, the Nike Blazer Low utilizes a premium leather to construct the entire look of the upper. Both pairs will come with features such as debossed branding on the heels and tongues, leather tongue tags, tonal laces, White sole unit, cork insoles, leather lining and waxed laces. Said to be releasing (internationally) tomorrow, we can only hope that these arrive stateside in the near future.
I’m definitely a fan of the premium look on the Blazer Low. It’s never looked this good before. If I were to get a pair of this mode, it’d be one of these.

The Nike Air Max BW Ultra Offers One Final Olympic Themed Release

The Olympics are already underway, but Nike Sportswear ekes in one last special sneaker release for the summer games with this new colorway for the Air Max BW Ultra. Inspired by the original “USA” Air Max BW which also dropped again this summer, the modified Ultra construction of the classic runner features a flip of the red, white, blue, and gold color combination for a primarily white upper. If you just can’t get enough of Nike’s Olympics-inspired sneakers in 2016, you can pick the Air Max BW Ultra “USA” up now at select Nike Sportswear suppliers.
The latest Nike SB Stefan Janoski Max, which is dubbed Swarm is said to be inspired by none other than a killer bee swarm. Yup, you read that right, a killer bee swarm.
The entire upper of the Nike SB Stefan Janoski Max is dressed in a mesh upper done in a Black colorway. The Black base is then added hits of White splatter that is supposed to mimic the look of a killer bee swarm. In addition to the White splatter, the shoe also comes with Olive hits on the tongue. Below you will find a White vulcanized sole equipped with a premium air max cushion system as well as Nike natural motion technology for some added flexibility. Gum accents on the outsole give the shoe a versatile look. Priced at $120 and available now, is this a cop or drop?
The Dress Shoes Ken Griffey Jr. Wore For His Hall Of Fame Induction Were Made By Nike

For those of you who weren’t aware, Ken Griffey Jr. was recently inducted on to the Hall of Fame. Aside from winning a World Series, I would imagine that this is one of the grandest feats an MLB player could ever achieve. If you took the time to see what Ken Griffey Jr. had to say during his speech at the Baseball Hall of Fame induction ceremony, you probably took a quick glance at what he was wearing on his feet. From a distance, the dress shoes appeared to be “regular” Brown dress shoes. What you didn’t know is that they were made by Nike especially for The Kid. The Brown leather dress shoes feature a tonal Nike Swoosh embossed on each toe and even more Nike branding can be found on the insoles. Thoughts on the dress shoe? Is it a good look with the branding and all?
