Nike Is Releasing More Classic Dunk Retros

This is usually the time of year when Nike Sportswear brings back a couple of iconic colorways of the Nike Dunk from the “Be True To Your School” Collection given that the legendary basketball model was the silhouette of choice back in the mid-80s for some of the top collegiate programs during March Madness. But since Nike has basically brought back every colorway from the ‘Be True’ program, NSW is switching things up and bringing back oft-forgotten colorways of the Nike Dunk High like this retro “Violet Dust” option perfect for the Spring 2017 season. The Nike Dunk High Violet Dust features clean combination of smooth white leather while a plum accent color hits the overlaying panels and Swoosh branding. There’s still no word yet on a Release Date, but stay tuned for more updates in the near future.

The Nike Basketball Time To Shine Pack Drops This Weekend

Nike Basketball is currently trotting out 10 of the 16 teams left in the NCAA’s March Madness Sweet 16, and in honor of the occasion, the Swoosh is introducing four new colorways with the ‘One Shining Moment‘ theme present through metallic and iridescent branded accents in their Time To Shine Pack this Friday, March 24th. But the standout news here is that the ever-popular Nike PG 1 “Shining” will get a re-release with wider availability after a limited run sold out to mark the debut of Paul George’s Nike signature debut. As for the other pairs included, the LeBron 14 gets its iciest installment yet with a simple white mesh upper accented by Metallic Silver throughout. The Time To Shine Pack will also introduce the world to the first installment of the KD 9 Elite featuring a more wearable upper than ever with the help of full-length Zoom cushioning. Unlike past Elite installments, the price point remains the same despite the overhauled upper at just $150 USD. The Kyrie 3 features a colorway closely resembling his teammate’s, but with a vibrant pop on the unique traction system peeking through in Multi-Color form.

A Full Air Jordan Retro WINGS Collection Is On Display At The Nike HQ

The 2016 release of the Playoffs-inspired Air Jordan 12 Retro was the start of the “WINGS” collection by Jordan Brand. Inspired by the iconic poster of MJ spreading his arms to his sides, the Air Jordan “Wings” design concept takes on black, gold, and white detailing and hides a feathery wing graphic beneath a layer of paint on the upper. The upcoming Air Jordan 1 “Wings” takes on a bit more of a luxurious approach by taking on a full burnished leather upper opposed to the hidden Wings route.

Spotted at the Nike WHQ in Beaverton, OR is a full set of the Air Jordans featuring the Wings aesthetic; this doesn’t necessarily point to a release in the future, but at least we know they exist on some format! Check out the full spy video below.

Nike Created A Casual Shoe Based Off The Flyknit Racer

After all the popularity that the Flyknit Racer has had through the years, it’s a surprise that it’s taken this long for Nike to create a strictly lifestyle edition of the sleek and speedy silhouette. Perhaps finally conceding to the fact that more people wear the shoe for casual purposes than performance, Nike finally drops a casual-minded reiteration of the Flyknit Racer, dubbed the Dualtone Racer. Keeping the same shape as the Flyknit Racer, the Dualtone Racer remodels the original model with a suede upper and smoothed-out midsole, previewed here in an Oatmeal colorway. Enjoy your first preview of the Dualtone Racer today, and stay tuned for release information.

Nike Spent $15,000 To Make Shoes Big Enough For This College Basketball Player

How much does it cost to create size 22 sneakers? Well about $22,000.

Florida State center Michael Ojo who stands at 7? 1? wears a size 22 7E shoe which happens to be a very rare size and as a result not easy to obtain. So in order to lace him up in shoes that properly fit his feet, Nike had to spend $15,000 to build a machine to make the specially designed shoes for Ojo. Just for comparison, Shaq also wears a size 22, the Lopez twins wear a size 20, and Kevin Durant wears a size 18.
