Paul Georges Teammates Say The Nike PG 1 Is The Best Basketball Shoe Theyve Ever Played In

Paul George’s signature shoe is not even two months old in the retail space, and already it’s one of the hottest basketball shoes on the market. The poignant choice of materials, clean design, and $110 price-point positions the PG 1 to be a top seller, and given how the Kyrie 2 was one of the ten best-selling shoes last year, Paul George’s debut shoe can potentially make 2017’s list (Nike just needs to release a lot more colorways and put it up on NIKEiD).

Above all the realized and theoretical success, the PG 1’s greatest achievement comes from the co-sign of Paul’s Pacers teammates, who simply call the shoe the best basketball shoe they’ve ever played in. Do you agree?

The latest “Summer” colorway is available now on Nike SNKRS or on eBay.

Another Clean Nike PG 1 Is Releasing Next Friday

nike-pg-1-black-white-hyper-turquoise-878627-001-1

Paul George has made a late-season push to capture that ever elusive All-NBA honor, a feat that would guarantee PG13 up to $70 million more on his next contract and all but sure-up the fact that he’d be staying in Indiana for years to come. And why wouldn’t he want to do just that? Lance Stephenson is back and his teammates believe that the Nike PG 1 is the best basketball shoe they’ve ever played in (more on that here).

The Nike PG 1 “Summer Pack” dropped earlier today, and next week will bring the Nike PG 1 Hyper Turquoise, a pair that definitely reminds us a whole lot of the atmos aesthetic that was resurrected on the atmos x Nike Air Max 1 “Elephant Print” retro recently. The pair features a nearly all black upper with
a contrasting white midsole, but here’s where things get interesting: the forefoot section features speckling while the rest of the midsole ditches the look entirely. An icy outsole holds down the bottom while accents of Hyper Turquoise hit PG’s autograph on the sockliner and on his official logo.

Expect the Nike PG 1 Hyper Turquoise to arrive at retailers on April 14th for $110 USD. Will you be grabbing a pair? Check out more detailed retailer images below and head over to our Release Dates page for an updated look at all of Nike Basketball’s latest and greatest.

Eric Koston And Guy Marianos Numbers Skate Brand To Release Nike SB Collaboration Tomorrow

In late 2016, Eric Koston and Guy Mariano launched Numbers, a new skate imprint that aims to put the attention back on the innate “indie” attitude of the sport. Maybe collaborating with a billion-dollar brand like Nike isn’t the best way to express that, but Koston and Mariano are, of course, on the Nike SB roster, so a shoe collab really shouldn’t be scoffed at. A bold red and crisp white colorway of the Blazer Low AC with velcro straps are dropping tomorrow at skateshops and on Nike.com at 10 AM EST.

The Nike Kobe A.D. Compton Drops Next Week

Turns out the the upcoming Nike Kobe A.D. Compton is actually inspired by Demar DeRozan’s childhood memories of the Kobe Bryant. DeRozan’s earliest memory of Kobe was during Game 5 of the 1997 NBA Western Conference Semi-Finals between Kobe’s Lakers and the Utah Jazz. During that game, young Kobe air-balled a couple of shots during a crucial part of the game. Instead of letting those moment deplete his confidence, Kobe used it as fuel to get better and as you all know, the rest is history. While all this is happening, 8 year old DeMar is looking, observing, learning.

DeRozan grew up watching Kobe in his hometown of Compton. Kobe had a big impact on his life on the court, as well as outside of it. Using that as inspiration, the Nike Kobe AD Compton will feature a Compton-inspired Black and White sockliner. Other features on the shoe include greyscale accents on the Swoosh and Kobe branding that end up blending in nicely with the Light Bone and Pale Grey upper. The Light Blue, Purple and Yellow hits on the tongue branding is said to be a nod to the Utah Jazz, who got the W the day Kobe was air-balling left and right. Retailing for $160, pick up the Nike Kobe AD Compton beginning April 12th.

The Nike LeBron 14 Is Releasing In A Mag Colorway

nike-lebron-14-mag

We’ve seen Back To The Future Nike Mag inspirations on a plethora of Nike silhouettes ranging from the Nike SB catalog to the Nike Hyperdunk series, but there doesn’t seem to be too many parallels between Marty McFly and LeBron James other than the Swoosh branding that appears on their feet, until now. Today we get a look at an upcoming LeBron 14 that looks an awful lot like the Nike Mag’s signature combination of grey and electric blue, and we have to say, this look is pretty sleek. The Nike LeBron 14 has been featured in a number of greyscale PEs throughout the NBA season, and this pair features contrast white Swoosh branding on the strap, blue speckling on the midsole, and a darker than usual icy blue tint on the hexagonal air units below. What do you think of the coming Nike LeBron 14 Mag colorway? We don’t have a Release Date just yet, but stay tuned for more updates right here on Sneaker News.
