What is sure to be one of the most coveted releases of this year’s Air Max Day 2024, here are official images of the women’s Nike Air Max 1 86 Royal.

Arriving in a classic White, Royal Blue, Neutral Grey, and Black color scheme, this ’86 iteration of the Air Max 1 is designed to look and feel like the original design of the model that dropped back in 1986. The sneaker is definted by the Royal Blue suede hits on the the mudguard, eyestays, TPU eyelets, and Nike branding on the tongue and heel. Giving the shoe some contrast are the Neutral Grey accents appearing on the vamp, midfoot, and heel overlays, while White takes care of the mesh base, laces, tongue, and inner lining. UPDATE (3/8): It has been announced that the Nike Air Max 1 86 WMNS Royal will release on March 22nd via SNKRS for the retail price of $150. Here is what Nike has to say about this special Air Max 1 release:

“We?re celebrating Air Max Day by revitalizing an icon. Pulling from the archives, the Air Max 1 ?86 tells one of Nike?s biggest stories: revealing Air to the world. But the lesser-known fact is that for the first few months of its release, the Air Max 1 featured a noticeably bigger window. So, like?why did the window shrink? We discovered an exposed Air unit tends to crack in cold temperatures, so Nike engineers had to adjust on the fly. We created a new Air unit and quietly “shrunk the window both in length and height.” Lucky for us, it?s not the ?80s anymore. This women’s exclusive Malachite colorway of the Nike Air Max 1 87 celebrates St. Patrick?s Day 2024 and is also set to be part of a larger group of “Green” themed sneakers celebrating the Irish holiday. Debuting in 2005, the Nike Air Pegasus 2K5 is making a resurgence this year as it looks to pay homage to its Y2K glamour while implementing a modern twist. This modern iteration of the Nike Air Pegasus 2K5 is constructed out of a breathable mesh with leather, that is then defined by its small Swooshes and toe cut-outs. This updated design also includes badges on the midsole and heel that read ?FULL LENGTH NIKE AIR? and ?AIR PEGASUS? respectively. The Nike Air Max 1 Grand Piano is considered a grail to a lot of sneakerheads. When it made it debut way back in 2009, this Air Max 1 was limited to just 400 pairs as it released exclusively at PHANTACi?s Taiwan store. Fifteen years later, Nike will once more be dropping the “Grand Piano” iteration of the Nike Air Max as a wider release, giving us another chance at copping this highly coveted release.

Arriving in an official color scheme listed as White/Black-Metallic Gold-Pink Rise, the sneaker is defined by its Black and Gold patent leather overlays that work alongside the White leather and mesh base. Standout details come by way of the two sets of ?Piano? lace locks that come in both Black and Pink. Also worth noting, the 2009 pair come with PHANTACi-branded locks, whereas this 2024 version does not, which most likely means that this release will not be associated with the Taiwanese retailer. Finishing touches include the plush Pink velvet sock liner, the additional Gold hits on the top eyelets, Black laces, and the Nike branding on the insoles, tongue tags and heel tabs.
