The renowned “Aunt Pearl” theme will be used on the Nike KD 16. First used on the Nike KD 4, the “Aunt Pearl” theme honors Durant’s aunt who passed away from lung cancer in 2000. Not only does the Nike KD 16 Aunt Pearl pay tribute to KD’s late aunt, this sneaker also contributes to the Kay Yow Cancer Fund. The Nike KD 16 Aunt Pearl is done in varying shades of Pink. Design details include an engineered mesh upper, leather overlays and a cushioned Zoom-infused sole unit. Some of the features that stand out include the floral print pattern that covers the mudguard and TPU please as well as the the subtle wings and floral designs on the tongues. Pink laces, White Swoosh branding on the lateral heel and a hot Pink sole are also in play.
