The Happy99 x Reebok collab includes two uniquely design iterations of the Instapump Fury inspired by anime gaming. In 2018, designers Nathalie Nguyen and Dominic Lopez posted a picture of a virtual sneaker concept on Instagram under the brand “Happy99”. Shortly thereafter, a number of stylists reached out, all trying to get a pair for their celebrity clientele. Just over a year later, what started as a digital “passion project between two long-distance artists and designers” is making headway in a new reality of footwear and apparel. The Happy99 x Reebok Instapump Fury arrives in your choice of Purple/Midnight-Earth and Boulder Grey/Mint. Both pairs draw inspiration from ‘90s video games and anime as they comes constructed out of a blend of fabrics, vivid colors, and earth tones. Some of the standout design elements include the translucent Pump button, the use of cordura, suede and synthetic material on the uppers, and a graphic nylon and ripstop gaiter. Finishing touches include the custom graphic sockliner, OG Fury carbon footplate, and brand nods.
