Find Out Why Nick Young Left Nike To Join adidas

Early in the NBA season Swaggy P aka Nick Young became a sneaker free agent as his contact with Nike reached its end. There was a brief moment where he went on to wear everything from Nike to FILA to Reebok and adidas. Ultimately Swaggy decided to join James Harden and Kaye West and joined team adidas. But why?

Here’s what Young had to say about his decision to walk away from Nike (and other brands) and choose adidas.

?Nike is really only three people. Kobe, Durant and LeBron,? he explained. ?I like the concept of how adidas adds everybody in their shoe commercial. The way adidas is going and the waves they?ve got, I was getting on board.?

We can’t help but assume that Kanye West played a big part of Young’s decision to join adidas and according to him he was influenced by Yeezy.

?That helped adidas out a trillion times,? Young laughed. ?And of course I asked for the whole Kanye collection. Bring me everything.?

Do you think that Nick Young made the right decision to leave Nike and join adidas? I mean it’s not like he’s ever gonna get a signature shoe with adidas either, right? What would you have done?

Jordan Brand’s Dunk From Above Collection got underway last week as we saw the release of the Air Jordan 5 Low Dunk From Above that is still sitting on shelves a week later. It may or may not be a different story with this Air Jordan 4 due to the popularity of the silhouette. The Air Jordan 4 Dunk From Above comes dressed in a Midnight Navy leather all over the upper with Varsity Maize detailing on the eyelets, inner liner and the inside of the tongue. We can also see White accents on the midsole and side panel and tongue mesh netting while a gum outsole holds everything down.

This is my favorite shoe from the Dunk From Above Collection but I don?t know if I like it enough to pull the trigger and cop a pair. Maybe if I?m able to see them in person I?ll be able to make my decision.

The Nike Air Tech Challenge 4 Will Finally Get The Retro Treatment

NIKE AIR TECH CHALLENGE 4 1 NIKE AIR TECH CHALLENGE 4 2

Andre Agassi’s Nike Air Tech Challenge 4 made its initial release way back in 1992. Quick math tells me that that’s around 24 years ago. That’s how long it took for Nike to give this Agassi shoe the retro treatment. Returning in a brand new colorway, let’s take a closer look at the shoe.

The shoe starts off with an off-white leather upper heavily contrasted by the brown suede hits placed all over the upper. Adding some soft and subtle hits to the shoe are the coral accents placed on the heel and outsole of the shoe. No word yet on when these will drop, but expect them to do so within the next few months. Are you happy to see this shoe make a comeback? Let us know in the comments below.

Author’s Take

It’s crazy that it took Nike this long to retro the shoe. I’m sure Agassi enthusiasts will be happy to see this sneaker return. I wonder if Nike will bring back OG colorways of the shoe as well.

Donald Trump Inspired Sneakers Yup, They Exist

Just when you thought you’ve seen it all in sneakers, we come across something like this. What you see above is a custom pair of Donald Trump Converse Chuck Taylor All Star sneakers. No need to read it over, you read it right the first time.

The shoe are said to be worn by political consultant Frank Luntz. The custom sneaker features an actual image of Donald Trump along with the infamous quote “Make America Great Again” placed on the side panels of the denim constructed upper. Although he wears the shoes proudly, it doesn’t seem like it appears to be an endorsement since he stated that he wore the shoes so that he can be “the only one in America, other than his wife, who gets to walk on Donald Trump every day.” Take that as you may.

Would you rock these shoes? Let us know why or why not in the comments below.

Looks Like The Fake Yeezys Wont Be Stopping Any Time Soon

What’s worse then losing your shoes or missing out on a release? Buying fake sneakers. We understand that sometimes there’s evil people out there that sell fake sneakers that claim that they’re selling you authentic kicks. And if you’ve been duped once or twice then we’re sorry to hear that but it happens to the best of us. But if you buy fake sneakers knowing that they’re fake, what’s up with that bruh?

One of the shoes that is being produced in fakes by the boatload at the moment is everything coming out of the adidas Yeezy line. So Yeezy Boost 350s in every color in the rainbow and same goes for the Yeezy Boost 750. Jeff Staple spotted this horrendous pair of counterfeit Yeezy Boost 350s that also take inspiration from the Jordan Eclipse on the upper. Making things even worse is a leopard-inspired print along with what looks to be a Finish Line logo on the side panels. What?!?!

I wonder what these shoes are called and how much they’re selling for. Remember, say no to fakes!

The Air Jordan 16 Midnight Navy Has Been Confirmed To Get The Retro Treatment

For quite some time now there’s been rumors circulating that the Air Jordan 16  Midnight Navy could possibly be getting the retro treatment somewhere down the line. We now have reports from a retail source saying that the shoe you see above is in fact scheduled to get the retro treatment for the first time ever.

The Air Jordan 16 originally released back in 2001. The last time we saw any kind of version of the shoe was when the black pair released as a part of the CDP in which is got paired up with the Air Jordan 7 back in 2008. Fun fact about the shoe, it was also the first Air Jordan since the Air Jordan 3 that was not designed by Tinker Hatfield. No word yet on when the shoe will release, but we’re almost sure that it will do so before the year ends. Are you a fan of shroud-equipped Air Jordan 16? Let us know if you plan on picking up a pair once these end up releasing.

Author’s Take

Meh. I’d rather see more Air Jordan 17s release than the Air Jordan 16. It’s safe to say I will not be buying these.

A black outsole wraps things up along with ?CHI? written by the ankle in Bright Crimson and Black.

So far we’ve only gotten a look at the Chicago and NYC pairs, which one do you like better from the two? Let us know down below and be sure to check out our Air Jordan 10 Chicago Flag launch page for the latest up-to-the-minute updates.

Author?s Take

The only reason I would pick up this pair of 10s is if I were from the city of Chicago or lived there because the inspiration/theme looks to be on point. But since I don?t these are a pass for me.

New Images of Spike Lees Air Jordan 6 Gold Oscars PE

Air Jordan 6 1 Air Jordan 6 2 Air Jordan 6 3 Air Jordan 6 4 Air Jordan 6 5

Remember the gold Air Jordan 6 that was gifted to Spike Lee back in November that was inspired by the Oscars? Well today we get a much better and detailed look at the shoe.

According to Spike Lee there was only one pair of existence, so either Spike Lee wasn’t aware that there’s more pairs or he let someone borrow his pair to take these new shots of them. This Air Jordan 6 features a gold leafed upper with a translucent tongue, outsole and heel tabs. As you can see in the photo the see-through tongue and outsole have also been hit with gold speckling to go along with the ?Oscars? theme.

What are your thoughts on the Air Jordan 6 Gold Oscars PE now that you have a better look at them?

Definitely a nice colorway of the Air Jordan 6 but this is more of a collector’s piece to me that you display on your shelf like a trophy and not something you wear on your feet.

The First Ever Air Jordan 11 Mid For Girls Will Release At The End Of The Year

The Jordan Brand holiday season is going to be lit and it’s barely February. With Jordan Brand already announcing the return of the Air Jordan 11 Space Jam as well as the Air Jordan 3 True Blue OG, there’s no denying that Jordan Brand is playing no games this holiday season. Want more? Add in the first ever girls-exclusive Air Jordan 11 Mid to the calendar.

J23app just let it be known that the first ever girls-only Air Jordan 11 Mid will be releasing in December. Sure, we’ve seen girl colorways on the Air Jordan 11 Low, but never on a mid. No word on what the colorway will be on the shoe, but here’s to hoping that it’s a color that the men can also wear. Keep it locked for more updates regarding this future release.

Looking forward to see what Jordan Brand has for the ladies. I just hope it’s not a pink colorway.

The Nike Air Max 1 Gets A Premium Makeover

Nike Air Max 1 1 Nike Air Max 1 2 Nike Air Max 1 3

This weekend we may or may not see the release of the 2016 version of the Atmos x Nike Air Max 1 Safari. Whether Nike does decide to release them this weekend or keep us waiting a little longer, it’s almost a guarantee that they will sell out, even if Nike did “remix” them a bit.

If you’re looking for another Air Max 1 with premium materials then here’s another solid option for you. Set in a combination of Midnight Navy, Dark Obsidian and Cider, this Air Max 1 uses premium materials that include denim, twill, and leather for a very stylish and fashionable look. Hits of grey can also be seen on the toe and around the ankle for additional contrast.

What are your thoughts on this premium Air Max 1? Be on the lookout for them to land at stateside Nike retailers in the near future.

Author’s Take

The materials on this pair of Air Max 1s are really nice I just wish Nike would have used different colors. I like the blue on the shoe but the orange just doesn’t match up right.

The Converse Easter Pack Draws Inspiration From The Spring Season And Pastel Hues

Converse is staying ahead of the game this year as they’re set to release their Easter Pack this weekend.

Consisting of the Converse Chuck Taylor All Star 2 and the Converse Chuck Taylor All Star 70s, this collection utilizes pastel hues and draws inspiration from the Spring season. First we have the Chuck 2 which comes dressed in a canvas weave upper to allow for plenty of breathability. Other details include two-toned laces, and a padded and non-slip gusseted tongue. There will be two options to choose from, an all-black high-top and natural with a pop of pink for that Easter inspiration. Then we have the Chuck 70 which comes in supple nubuck leather that has been brushed for softness in your choice of off-white or baby blue.

You can pick up all four sneakers from the Converse Easter Pack beginning on February 26th at select Converse retail stores. The Chuck 2 Easter Basket will retail for $110 and the Chuck 70 Easter Egg will be priced at $95-100.

Author’s Take

Both pairs of the classic Chuck Taylor immediately caught my eye due to the new materials that they’ve been dressed in. I really like the black Chuck 2 with the canvas weave upper, it reminds me of an Easter basket.

Have you had the chance to look at the official images of the NikeLab Sock Dart Tech Fleece? If it’s a cozy sneaker you’re looking for, don’t sleep on these pairs.

The NikeLab version of the Sock Dart comes with Nike’s Tech Fleece material placed on the upper of the shoe. The first pair comes with the grey Tech Fleece placed on the upper contrasted by the purple hue found on the back half of the shoe. A white midsole creates some nice overall contrast. The second pair comes in a subtle black and grey makeup whereas the tonal sole unit blends in nicely with the shoe. No word yet on when these will drop, but expect them to do so sooner rather than later.

While I do appreciate Tech Fleece uppers on Nike sneakers, I view this model as a summer offering, putting Tech Fleece on the shoe doesn’t really make sense for hot sunny days.

The Nike Flyknit Racer Dark Grey Is Now Up For Grabs!

Flyknit Racer 1 Flyknit Racer 2 Flyknit Racer 3 Flyknit Racer 4

Don’t look now, but a brand new Nike Flyknit Racer just released. Opting to go with a subtle look, I’m just glad this colorway doesn’t have volt or neon hits on it. Although the Flyknit Racer Blue Glow released not too long ago, Nike is giving us yet another colorway to choose from with this Dark Grey offering of the shoe.

The images show that this version of the Racer is the type that splits shoes Flyknit upper into two different colors placed on the lateral and medial side of the shoe. One side comes in Dark Grey while the other side comes in Black. White hits break up the tonal look of the shoe as it’s spotted on the Nike Swoosh on the side panels, branding on the tongue as well as on the midsole and outsole of the shoe. Available at Nike’s online store now, pick up a pair for $150.

via: Nike

Author’s Take

I like when the Racer gets done up in the split-colored look, only thing is that this colorway doesn’t really take advantage of the two-toned upper since the Dark Grey is very similar to the Black. It sort looks like another version of the Oreo. Oreo 3.0 anyone?

Is This A First Look At The Nike Zoom Kobe 1 FTB

Nike Zoom Kobe 1 FTB 2 Nike Zoom Kobe 1 FTB 1

Earlier in the week we learned that Nike will be releasing an all-new Nike Kobe Pack that is being known as the FTB (Fade to Black) Pack that will celebrate Kobe’s tenure with the Swoosh starting off with the Air Zoom Huarache 2K4 and ending with the newest Kobe 11.

Today we take a look at what may be the Nike Zoom Kobe 1 from this said collection. According to the leaked style sheets that surfaced earlier this week the colorway for the Zoom Kobe 1 is expected to be Sail/Sail and this first image that we see above lines up with that. The shoe comes with a textile snakeskin-like upper with Gold detailing and what looks to be a gum outsole.

The Nike Zoom Kobe 1 FTB is expected to release on March 19th with a retail price of $200 so stay tuned to Kicks On Fire for more information.

via: SneakersSpy

Author’s Take

It’s hard to judge a sneaker when you can’t see it in its entirety, but the snake-skin upper and gum outsole seem to be a nice touch. This along with every other shoe from the pack will sell out instantly.
