Toronto Blue Jays Pitcher Marcus Stroman Signs With Jordan Brand
Jordan Brand continues to make moves in “The 6″ as they attempt to make their presence felt up North in Toronto/Canada.
The brand has just announced that they have signed Toronto Blue Jays pitcher Marcus Stroman to a deal as the pitcher just posted this picture on his Twitter account where he’s sitting next to a bunch of Jordan Brand cleats.
Since Jordan Brand athlete David Price left Toronto to sign with the Boston Red Sox this off-season, Jordan Brand must have felt that they needed another presence in the T. Dot and Stroman was their man.
As you all know, there’s going to be several of different colorways of the Air Jordan 5 Low to choose from this year. Several different options have already dropped, while several more are on their way. One colorway that we still don’t when it’s going to drop is the one you see above. With an obvious correlation to a Knicks theme, let’s go on ahead and take a closer look at the Air Jordan 5 Low Knicks .
The Jordan 5 Low starts off with w Deep Royal Blue taking care of the nubuck base of the shoe. The same hue can be seen on the laces and eyelets of the shoe. Adding some sharp contrast and creating the Knicks theme are the Team Orange hits placed on the branding, lace lock, the inside of the tongue and the shark teeth design placed on the white midsole. Clean netting on the side panels, a grey 3M tongue and an icy translucent outsole complete the major features on the shoe. No word yet on when the shoe will release but there’s a rumor going around that we could see this release drop as early as next month. Priced at $175, are you looking to pick up?
This would probably be picked up if I were a Knicks fan, but since I am not and I am not really a fan of the silhouette I will not. I have a feeling this would be much more hyped if they had released in a mid-top cut. Ah, well.

Would You Pick Up This adidas NMD Mid Suede Sample
Could we possibly see mid-top versions of the adidas NMD in the near future? If so, don’t be surprised if it looks like the sample you see above. Let’s take a closer look at the adidas NMD Mid Suede Sample.
The mid-top NMD sample opts to ditch the Primeknit/mesh upper in favor of a premium suede construction placed all over the chukka-style upper. Giving the shoe a more sleek and premium look is that fact that it comes with a seamless construction. Below you will still find the Boost midsole coming in an all-white aesthetic to create some nice contrast and overall balance. German branding, which translates to “3 Stripes World Market”, is placed on the heel tab. The shoe you see above is a rarity owned by Index PDX which can be yours to own for a cool $1,200. Who knows, maybe if there’s enough hype behind the shoe we could see something similar release somewhere down the line.
One of the reason I like the NMD is because of it’s Primeknit/mesh consturction, which helps make the shoe a comfortable option. Removing that aspect of the shoe makes it less appealing to me. If they were to drop something similar to these, I would no be picking up.
Kanye West Was Recently Spotted Wearing A Custom Pair Of Vans
Kanye West is making a habit of busting out a pair of Vans every now and then. It has come to the point where it’s no big deal when he does so, but this time around it’s a bit different as the Vans sneaker he’s wearing appears to be some type of custom.
The shoe appears to be a Vans Old Skool. What makes this pair special is the fact that the upper comes covered in what is said to be Kanye’s own art creations, even taking time to shout out his wife’s name on one of the heel of one of the shoes. Could this mean that Kanye is somehow working with Vans? Did he have someone hand-make the shoes? Could Vans soon offer us the opportunity to create our own shoes? We don’t have any of those answers yet, but if/when they surface we’ll be sure to fill you in.
Sneakers with a Cause: AMAC Footwear Provides Clean Drinking Water To Those In Need With Every Purchase
It’s something almost every American takes for granted: clean drinking water. Unfortunately, many around the world live every day without the luxury of clean, running water in their homes, ready and waiting with the flick of a switch. Upstart sneaker brand AMAC Footwear aims to make a dent in the number of people across the world without clean water by being the first sneaker brand with a cause. The brand’s mission is to provide 20 years of clean drinking water to someone in need with every pair of shoes sold. In other words, you buy a pair of AMAC sneakers, and a person without clean water will have it for twenty years. AMAC presents their debut sneaker this March, the Katema. The shoe is named after the town of Katema, Malawi (a country in SE Africa), which is the community that will benefit from the sales of the shoe through proceeds provided to AMAC’s non-profit partner Water Wells for Africa. As you can see, the shoe is an impressively stylish debut for the philanthropic sneaker brand, crafted with a blend of neoprene and leather complete with a woven toe panel. The AMAC Katema will launch on March 12th exclusively at amacfootwear.com. The full story on the Katema and the community it will benefit can also be found at amacfootwear.com.
The lifestyle Jordan Eclipse is introduced in a new colorway of Gamma Green this season, which is particularly a grade school exclusive only.
Essentially aimed for the warmer seasons, the defining tone is prominent across its mesh upper, which offers a lightweight feel and superb comfort during daily wear. Additional pops of lime green are applied for its piping on the side panels and behind the tongue to further pronounce its already vibrant palette as well.
To top of its eye-catching profile, the model rests atop a clean white sole unit, although accentuated with slight green speckling to perfectly coordinate with its theme, the outsole receives enhanced grooves to ensure sufficient traction as well as cushioning. Other notable details include miniature branding on the tongue tab, as it’s rounded out with matching laces and Jumpman branding on the rear.
You can purchase this latest colorway of the silhouette at select JB stockists now for a price tag of $85.

Tune Out The Noise With The adidas D Lillard 2 Static
Damian Lillard is used to being looked over. It’s something that happened to him in High School, the NBA Draft, Team USA summer camps, and even this year’s All-Star Game. Dame wanted to remind everyone that he’s one of the game’s best young stars after the mid-season break by lighting up the league-best Warriors, blowing out the Western Conference juggernaut while becoming the quickest to record a 50 point game. It only took Dame 31 minutes and 6 seconds to log his career high against one of the NBA’s best defenses and the overall flurry definitely served as a reminder to how dangerous a weapon Lillard is on the court.
The rest of the talk is just noise. That’s the theme of the latest adidas D Lillard 2, nicknamed the “Static” for its black and white interwoven threads complete with bold contrast midsole speckling. ?I don?t need validation ? they?ve seen what I can do out there,? Dame said after the recent Warriors game. ?As a man, I?ve grown to rise above it all and block out the noise. I?ll keep pushing, keep working and soon enough they?ll wake up.? Don’t let the D Lillard 2 go under your radar. The pair is available February 27th for $105 from select retailers.
