Check Out The United Arrows x adidas Originals Tobacco Collaboration
Japan based United Arrows recently revealed their latest collaboration with the Three Stripes. No it’s not done on the Superstar or the Stan Smith, instead they opt to go with the adidas Originals Tobacco.
The United Arrows x adidas Originals Tobacco comes dressed in a tonal upper constructed out of a navy colored suede construction. Adding to the monochromatic look of the shoe is the tonal branding placed on the tongue, side panels and heel tab. A navy colored sole unit and matching inner lining complete the look of the shoe. Expect this collaboration to release March 28th as a Japan exclusive for around $142.
It’s a simple and subtle type of collaboration. Nothing really to go over being that it’s just a tonal suede upper. If you like this type of look you will probably like this shoe. Too bad it’s a Japan exclusive.

Known as the Converse One Star 74 fragment design Collection, this collaboration consists of tonal colorway of the classic Converse One Star 74 with some Hiroshi Fujiwara influence. Each One Star 74 from this collection utilizes premium hairy suede uppers, with an organic cotton star logo and the iconic fragment design thunderbolt on the heel stay in volt green. The hairy suede upper on the One Star 74 gives the shoe a luxurious look that makes it more appealing than the original. Hiroshi Fujiwara didn’t do too much to change the original look of silhouette but did enough to give it an upgrade.

Nike Releases The Bruin In Original Form In New Colorways
Remember how the super limited “Marty McFly” edition of the Nike Bruin celebrating Back to the Future Day disappeared faster than the DeLorean after it hits 88 miles per hour? Well, if you missed out and actually wanted the shoe for reasons other than the hype, this next release of the Bruin should be a pretty nice consolation prize. The shoe appears once again in its construction accurate to early 1980’s-era Bruins, with a leather upper and cup sole. This colorway features a white leather base with Photo Blue accents for a classic color block. The Nike Bruin QS will arrive at select global Nike Sportswear retailers on March 26th.
It looks as if adidas has decided to bring back the adidas ZX Flux Slip On. It’s been a cool minutes since we’ve all been able to get a fresh pair, but we won’t have to wait much longer to do so as two brand new tonal colorways are on the way.
The slip on version of the ZX Flux model comes constructed out of a breathable mesh upper that makes it a fresh option for the current season. The first two colorways you will be able to choose from include the “Running White” and “Collegiate Navy” option. Two tonal elastic straps appear on the midfoot while a tonal suede heel counter complete the major features on the upper. Both colorways will come with a white sole unit equipped with TORSION technology. Available now internationally, expect these to arrive stateside in the near future.

Flying somewhat on the under the radar is the Air Max 1 Royal, a super-premium build of the classic ’87 release built with seamless suede uppers and a unique foxing that wraps around the heel. We showed you a black colorway, but it appears that a tan version will also be available at European retailers on March 26th, 2016. The Air Jordan 12 Wings Is Limited To 12,000 Pairs
The Air Jordan 12 “Wings” is slated for an April release, but now we’re getting word that the premium retro offering will be limited to just 12,000 pairs. A luxurious black leather wraps around the upper, while Metallic Gold accents hit the midsole and metal eyelets to exude a lifestyle quality unlike any other Air Jordan 12 (well, maybe Public School NY’s collaboration could give this pair a run for its money). It’s rumored that the limited release will see proceeds go to the WINGS Foundation. Check out a better preview below and we’ll keep you updated on a release date in the near future.
Air Max Day 2016 is right around the corner, and while Nike Sportswear and Nike’s running imprint have teamed up to give us a lot to look forward to like the forthcoming Nike Air Max Zero, some HTM surprises, and a bevy of OG classics, Hong Kong is going all out for the celebration in a way we have yet to see here in the states. The history of visible air is currently being celebrated overseas through a unique and vast installation called the “Factory of Air” hosted at 2 Lower Albert Road, Central, Hong Kong. The two-story exhibit is inspired by the fantasies seen in Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory as interactive shoe displays take a playful approach to showcasing the legacy of Air Max. Air Max Con in Hong Kong will be open through March 26th, 2016 so be sure to stop by if you’re in the area.
Sneaker Grails: Justin Timberlakes Air Jordan 2 Legends Of The Summer
When I first saw the upcoming Air Jordan 2 Low Gym Red, I immediately thought about the Air Jordan 2 Legends of the Summer for this edition of Sneaker Grails. It’s hard not to make the comparison; both sport a vivid red upper – albeit with very different materials – that makes the shoes a whole better than they really have any business being. Sure, it might not sound like a compliment to call the Gym Red 2s an ersatz Legends of the Summer 2s, but that is high praise considering where most sneakerheads rank the Air Jordan 2 overall.
If you can’t tell, I’m not a fan of the Air Jordan 2 – it’s a blight on the greatness of early Air Jordan models – but something about the red gives them that luxurious touch that Nike was shooting for when they designed the shoe in the first place. No disrespect to Don C and his well-received Air Jordan 2 collaborations, but they pale in comparison to the awesomeness of the Legends of the Summer pair that Justin Timberlake wore for his concert tour with Jay Z back in 2013.
Now I know what you’re thinking, “really, Justin Timberlake?” He’s one of the most popular artists in the world, there’s no arguing that point, but you would never figure him to be a sneakerhead even though he does appear in sneaker blogs regularly whenever he rocks a pair of Js. But somebody at Jordan Brand noticed and as evidenced by their recent packages to one Shane McMahon recently, when they sense a high-profile celebrity has an affinity for kicks and might be doing something on a grand stage, like say a concert series with one of the greatest rappers of all-time, they cook up something special for the occasion. So the Legend of the Summer Jordans were born. Somewhere Jason Sudeikis is like, “what the hell, man?”
Featuring a handful of Air Jordan 1s, an Air Jordan 3 and the subject of this post today, the Legends of the Summer Jordans were a huge hit among sneakerheads. Those whoe were able to get close enough to see them in person were blown away and the blogs were lighting up like it was Christmas every time a picture popped up online. What made the hype train even bigger for the shoes was Timberlake signing the shoes and leaving them in the cities that they toured in. The 2s ended up in Vancouver where a pair of fans scooped them up. I’m guessing Timberlake had one to rock and one to stock so he had no problem giving away the ones he wore on the tour.
Originally, the Legends of the Summer Js were supposed to be a limited affair just for Timberlake and maybe a few friends and family. But soon everybody associated with Jordan Brand from Chris Paul to Carmelo Anthony to Russell Westbrook to DJ Khaled to Macklemore were all getting hooked up with a pair. There are a few that managed to make their way to the resale market and as you might expect, their prices are stupid high. Of course the only pair of 2s I’ve ever wanted in my life cost about the same as a down payment on a decent car.
I first saw the Lengends of the Summer 2s at a (redacted) event with (redacted) where they showed off (redacted). They were on the feet of (redacted… seriously, I’m pretty sure I signed an NDA before that event) and I couldn’t help but stare at them. Yes, I became that sneaker creeper who stares at somebody’s kicks for a little longer than what would be deemed socially acceptable. Thanks goodness (redacted) was really nice about it and I managed to not get escorted out by security. Needless to say, the Air Jordan 2 Low Gym Red now has me seriously considering an Air Jordan 2 purchase for the first time ever. Well, the first time since I saw the Legends of the Summer 2 again at Flight Club.
This Years McDonalds All-Americans Will Play In Some Dope adidas Gear
adidas and McDonald’s are celebrating the 39th annual McDonald’s All-American Game with a number of exclusives given out to some of the best young High School basketball prospects in the country. The likes of the adidas D Rose 6 Boost and freshly reimagined adidas D Lillard 2 with both Primeknit and Boost technology will be standard issue for both East and West All-Star squads. The red and black nature of the Primeknit uppers benefit from hints of yellow throughout while the iconic double-arch branding of McDonald’s logo lands on the respective tongues. Not only will adidas provide the uniforms for the All-American Game, but this year will also feature reflective 3M detailing on the slam dunk contest uniforms. Be sure to check out all of the gear created for the event and tune in this Saturday, March 28th to watch some of the best prep ballers in the country showcase their skills.
It’s safe to say that Flyknit transformed Kobe Bryant’s signature line more than any other technology. The woven material was first introduced atop the Nike Kobe 9 Elite and trickled down until it became the standard construction in this year’s Nike Kobe 11. The Back Mamba only has a few weeks of his professional career left before calling it quits, so it’s the perfect time for Nike Basketball to introduce their upcoming “Black Mamba” Pack that focuses on “The Flyknit Era”. Ominous monochromatic offerings ranging from an all Anthracite, Dark Obsidian, and Black/Metallic Gold improve the three Flyknit silhouettes for a premium affair. The Kobe 10 Elite Low and Kobe 11 do feature some subtle pops like a semi-translucent outsole unit on the 10, and a luxurious leather Swoosh selection on the 11. Each pair will hit retailers on April 11th for $200. Check out more photos below and let us know if you’re a fan of the trio by taking your thoughts to the comments section.
