We’ve known about them for quite some time now, but Jordan Brand finally gave the Air Jordan 1 Retro High Flyknit an official introduction. Set to release next month, here’s what this modern day version of the iconic Air Jordan 1 has to offer.

As most of you know, the Air Jordan 1 made its debut back in 1985. Back then the shoe used the best materials and technology that industry had to offer. Times have changed and basketball footwear has definitely evolved since then but through it all, the Air Jordan 1 remains central to the sneaker culture. Throughout the years, Jordan Brand has released different variations of the Air Jordan 1 utilizing materials such as patent leather, satin, Flyweave. Now for their latest creation, Jordan Brand has finally given the Air Jordan 1 a Nike Flyknit upper.

Just like the Air Jordan 1, Flyknit has become a classic staple in the footwear industry in its own way. Flyknit made its debut back in 2012, technology has continually evolved since then and in the Air Jordan 1 Retro High Flyknit woven construction allows for a classic look while maximizing flexibility and ventilation.

Honoring the silhouette’s heritage, Jordan Brand pairs the Flyknit woven construction with premium leather hits placed in areas such as the Swoosh, Wings branding, the Nike Air branded tongue and the insoles. Another feature on the shoe is the graphic reading ?19852017? printed on the inner collar that pays homage to the original Air Jordan 1 release year as well as the launch of the Air Jordan 1 Retro High Flyknit respectively. In addition, the Air Jordan 1 Retro High also comes with a Zoom Air unit that has been added in the heel.

The Air Jordan 1 Retro High Flyknit will debut in the Bred (Black and Red) colorway on Nike.com and select retailers beginning September 9th. Take a good look a the images above and let us know if you plan on picking up a pair.
